Oronde Gadsden II TE | LAC
Chargers' Oronde Gadsden: Making noise at Bolts camp
Gadsden has continued to show up consistently in the passing game during Chargers camp this summer, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Gadsden was selected in the fifth round of the 2025 Draft out of Syracuse, where he erupted for a career receiving line of 143-2,000-14 across just 36 contests. Gadsden is long and athletic, standing at 6-foot-5 and 241 pounds, and his playmaking ability has stood out during practice. Gadsden has started each of the Chargers' first two exhibitions, though it's important to note Los Angeles has yet to field its true first-team offense during the preseason. Gadsden has accrued a 3-22-0 line on five targets while running 35 pass routes during that time. Gadsden is dripping with pass-catching upside, but the Chargers have many mouths to feed on offense, particularly after the signing of Keenan Allen late in the summer. Gadsden is in a crowded tight end room that also includes veterans Will Dissly and Tyler Conklin.

Mason Pline TE | NO
Saints' Mason Pline: Reverts to IR with New Orleans
Pline (upper body) reverted to injured reserve with the Saints on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Pline left Sunday's 27-13 preseason loss to the Chargers a little worse for wear, sustaining an undisclosed upper-body injury in the contest. The injury will cause the tight end to miss the entirety of the 2025 campaign while on injured reserve, unless he's able to reach an injury settlement with New Orleans.

Dalton Keene TE | HOU
Texans' Dalton Keene: Lands on injured reserve
The Texans placed Keene (undisclosed) on injured reserve Wednesday.
It's unclear whether the injury has anything to do with the torn ACL that Keene suffered in August of 2024. Regardless, by being placed on IR, the 2020 third-rounder will be forced to miss the entire 2025 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with Houston. The Texans bolstered their tight end depth by signing Tre' McKitty in a corresponding move.

Hunter Henry TE | NE
Patriots' Hunter Henry: Could practice Thursday
Henry (undisclosed) didn't practice Wednesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
That said, Reiss notes that Henry -- who also missed Monday's session -- could return to practice as soon as Thursday. If that's the case, and the tight end is able to work fully in that scenario, he could be available for Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings.

Mike Gesicki TE | CIN
Bengals' Mike Gesicki: Still absent from practice
Gesicki (hamstring) is present at Wednesday's practice but is rehabbing on a side field, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Gesicki has missed over a week of practice, as well as Cincinnati's preseason opener against the Eagles, due to a hamstring injury sustained during practice on Saturday, Aug. 2. It remains to be seen whether the athletic tight end will be cleared in time to retake the field for Monday's upcoming preseason matchup against the Commanders. Recent tight end arrival Noah Fant also sat out versus Philadelphia, as he wasn't up to speed with the playbook, but he figures to have benefited from increased first-team reps with Gesicki sidelined.

Anthony Torres TE | LAR
Rams' Anthony Torres: Lands on IR
Torres (ankle) reverted to the Rams' injured reserve list Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The Rams waived Torres on Monday with an injury designation after he tweaked his ankle in Saturday's preseason game against the Cowboys. He went unclaimed off waivers and was shifted to the Rams' IR, which means the 25-year-old tight end will miss the entire 2025 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with Los Angeles.

Mason Pline TE | NO
Mason Pline: Gets waived with injury
New Orleans waived Pline (upper body) with an injury designation on Tuesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Pline suffered an undisclosed upper body injury during the Saints' preseason opener against the Chargers on Sunday, and now he's going to waivers. Unless he gets picked up by another team, he will eventually end up on New Orleans' injured reserve list.
-
Irv Smith TE | HOU
Texans' Irv Smith: Absent with hand injury
Smith (hand) did not practice Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Smith didn't play in the Texans' preseason opener against the Vikings this past Saturday. With Brevin Jordan (knee) suddenly done for the year, there's a spot open in Houston's tight end room behind Dalton Schultz and Cade Stover. Smith is competing with Luke Lachey and Dalton Keene.

Matt Sokol TE | BUF
Matt Sokol: Cut by Buffalo
The Bills cut Sokol on Tuesday.
Sokol signed with Buffalo last month, and he played just nine offensive snaps in Saturday's preseason opener against the Giants. He secured his lone target for a gain of two yards in the exhibition.
