  • Chuba Hubbard RB | CAR

Panthers' Chuba Hubbard: Dealing with hamstring issue

Hubbard was a limited participant in practice Wednesday due to a hamstring injury.

In the wake of the Panthers' Week 16 loss to the Packers, Miles Sanders (toe) was the only Carolina running back who was reported to have sustained an injury in the contest. However, Sanders was able to log a full session to kick off Week 17 prep, while Hubbard operated with a cap on his reps. As such, the backfield situation will be monitored over the next two days of practice to see if Hubbard may be in danger of yielding snaps to Sanders on Sunday at Jacksonville.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Giants' Saquon Barkley: Limited by elbow injury

Barkley was a limited participant at Wednesday's walkthrough due to an elbow injury, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports.

Barkley last had practice restrictions placed upon him during Week 11 prep. In the four games since, he's turned 73 touches into 274 yards from scrimmage and three rushing touchdowns. Considering Barkley was able to log some on-field work to kick off this week, he likely isn't in any danger of missing Sunday's contest against the Rams, but his status still will be monitored to ensure that's the case.

  • Ty Johnson RB | BUF

Bills' Ty Johnson: Limited in practice again

Johnson (shoulder) was a limited practice participantt on Wednesday's walkthrough.

Johnson was a limited participant all last week before ultimately being inactive for the Bills' road win over the Chargers. His absence allowed Leonard Fournette to suit up for the first time all season, albeit with minimal impact in a game in which lead back James Cook took on a career-high 75 percent snap share.

  • Tarik Cohen RB | NYJ

    Tarik Cohen: Healthy again

The Panthers restored Cohen (hamstring) from the practice squad/injured list Wednesday.

Cohen had been on the practice squad/injured list since Nov. 6, but he's healthy again and thus could be an option to join Carolina's roster for one or both of the team's final two games of the season. The 28-year-old running back hasn't played in an NFL game since the 2020 campaign.

  • Isiah Pacheco RB | DET

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Not practicing Wednesday

Pacheco (concussion) won't practice Wednesday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.

Pacheco sustained a concussion during Monday's loss to the Raiders and unsurprisingly isn't ready to take the practice field just two days later. The running back will have two more chances to practice this week, but he'll ultimately need to receive clearance from an independent neurologist to be removed from concussion protocol and have any chance at playing in Sunday's game against the Bengals. If Pacheco is unable to clear the five-step protocol ahead of Sunday, Clyde Edwards-Helaire would likely serve as the Chiefs' lead option out of the backfield, with La'Mical Perine handling the No. 2 role.

  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Likely to play through ankle injury

Mostert is dealing with an ankle injury, but head coach Mike McDaniel said Wednesday that he isn't concerned about the running back's availability for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.

Mostert has dealt with various lower-body injuries in recent weeks, with the 31-year-old having been listed with knee, shin and ankle issues on Miami injury reports. Per Daniel Oyefusi of The Miami Herald, Mostert will likely have his practice reps monitored during the week, but he should be capable of playing Sunday even with limited practice reps. Mostert played a season-low 19 snaps in last week's win over Dallas, and if the trend of a decreased workload continues for him in Week 17, it could lead to more opportunities for De'Von Achane and Jeff Wilson out of the backfield.

  • Chase Brown RB | CIN

Bengals' Chase Brown: Handles six touches

Brown rushed four times for 16 yards and secured both of his targets for eight yards in Saturday's 34-11 loss to the Steelers.

Brown operated as the Bengals' No. 2 running back Saturday, playing 14 of Cincinnati's 64 offensive snaps. Meanwhile, starter Joe Mixon played 38 snaps and carried the ball 11 times in the contest. Brown has earned extra opportunities in recent weeks, but he saw a dip in his recent usage on a day when the Bengals struggled to get much going on offense. The rookie will look to get more involved behind Mixon in a Week 17 matchup with the Chiefs.

  • Samaje Perine RB | CIN

Broncos' Samaje Perine: Five touches in loss

Perine rushed once for two yards and caught four of five targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 26-23 loss to the Patriots.

He played 24 of Denver's 69 offensive snaps while starter Javonte Williams was on the field for 27 snaps. Despite handling a near-even split in snaps with Williams, Perine didn't make much of an impact. The 28-year-old RB should at least have a better chance of turning a modest workload into useful fantasy numbers during the Week 17 matchup against a vulnerable Chargers defense.

  • Jakob Johnson RB | HOU

Jakob Johnson: Back to practice squad

Johnson reverted to the Raiders' practice squad Tuesday.

Johnson joined the active roster ahead of the team's 20-14 win over the Chiefs on Monday, failing to record any stats while playing 19 snaps on offense and 14 with the special-teams unit. The fullback will now wait for his next shot to be elevated for another game with Las Vegas.

  • Hunter Luepke RB | DAL

Cowboys' Hunter Luepke: Considered limited Tuesday

Luepke (thigh) was considered to be a limited participant at the Cowboys' walk-through Tuesday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Luepke appears to have left Sunday's 22-20 loss to the Dolphins a little worse for wear, opening the week on the injury report. The fullback will look to increase his workload at the team's final two practice sessions ahead of Saturday's high-stakes matchup with Detroit.
