Cordarrelle Patterson RB | PIT
Cordarrelle Patterson not focused on personal stats
Vikings wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson was used on two jet-sweep plays during a 34-6 win Week 1 against the Rams. While it was an interesting wrinkle to the offense, offensive coordinator Norv Turner did his best Thursday to temper expectations about using trick plays on a weekly basis, per The Star Tribune.
"Those plays I think when they happen are exciting and they’re great; you can’t count on those," Turner said. "A guy like Cordarrelle is capable of doing that with his physical ability."
Patterson said he's familiar with the jet sweep from his college days. However, he said he isn't sure if he will get carries on a weekly basis.
"You just can’t focus on one guy," Patterson said. "Like me, I might not get no (touches) or no kickoff returns this week. It really don’t matter to me as long as my team’s successful and as long as we win. We know we’re going to be good. You can’t worry about yourself all the time, you’ve got to think about your team."
