  • Ryan Mathews RB | PHI

Eagles' Ryan Mathews: Questionable for Week 6

Mathews (groin) is officially listed as questionable for the Eagles' Week 6 game against the Giants, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.

Technically, he's been listed as a full participant for Saturday's practice, but it's believed that the session was a walkthrough, which makes it difficult to know if Mathews has actually shown significant improvement since suffering the injury earlier in the week. DeMarco Murray and Darren Sproles figure to handle the workload in the Philadelphia backfield if Mathews is unable to play Monday.

  • Texans' Jonathan Grimes: Draws probable Week 6 designation

Grimes (hamstring) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

Fellow RB Alfred Blue is listed as questionable for the contest, though with starter Arian Foster able to handle a heavy workload these days, any of his backups are speculative plays in fantasy.

  • Shaun Draughn RB | NYG

Browns RB Shaun Draughn listed as questionable for Week 6

Browns running back Shaun Draughn (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Draughn draws the questionable designation despite practicing fully both Thursday and Friday, though at this stage his Week 6 status is of more import to the Browns' backfield depth than it is to fantasy owners.

  • Juwan Thompson RB | DEN

Broncos RB Juwan Thompson unable to practice on Friday

Broncos running back Juwan Thompson (hamstring) did not practice Friday and is considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns.

Thompson has been limited to work with the Broncos' strength and conditioning coach throughout this week following the hamstring injury he suffered against the Raiders. If he's unable to suit up Sunday, Kapri Bibbs is expected to be promoted from Denver's practice squad.

  • Ryan Mathews RB | PHI

Eagles RB Ryan Mathews added to injury report after limited practice

Eagles running back Ryan Mathews was added to the injury report as a limited participant Friday due to a groin injury.

It's never a good sign when a player is added to the injury report mid-week, but Mathews was at least able to fit in a limited session. Even if he's fine, Mathews will work behind DeMarco Murray in a matchup with a Giants team that has been strong against the run and vulnerable to the pass.

  • Matt Jones RB | WAS

Redskins RB Matt Jones deemed questionable for Week 6

Redskins running back Matt Jones (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday game against the Jets.

Jones was limited at practice for two days before missing the Friday session. His decreased participation doesn't bode well and he may end up as a game-time decision. Even if Jones plays, he'll be splitting work behind an offensive line that's missing two starters in a battle with a tough run defense.

  • Bernard Pierce RB | DEN

Jaguars RB Bernard Pierce will not play in Week 6

Jaguars running back Bernard Pierce (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Texans, The Florida Times-Union reports.

Pierce was unable to practice at all this week due to his concussion, so he will not be able to play in Sunday's game. Fellow running back T.J. Yeldon (groin) will be a game-time decision Sunday, so it remains to be seen who will start at running back for the Jaguars in Week 6.

  • Matt Jones RB | WAS

Redskins RB Matt Jones present, but sits out Friday's practice

Redskins running back Matt Jones (toe) did not take part in Friday's practice, CSN's Tarik El-Bashir reports.

Jones was present at Friday's practice, but he did not appear to be getting any work in, leaving his Week 6 availability in limbo. The Redskins will provide an update on Jones' status when they release their final injury report of the week Friday afternoon.

  • Larger workload in store for Cowboys RB Christine Michael

Cowboys running backs coach Gary Brown said Thursday that the team was "going to take the reins off" running back Christine Michael, the Dallas Morning News reports.

The former Seahawk has just two carries in two games this year, but with the running game and the entire offense struggling without Tony Romo (collarbone) and Dez Bryant (foot), Dallas has little to lose by giving Michael a larger workload even if he doesn't completely supplant Joseph Randle as the starter.

  • Matt Jones RB | WAS

Redskins RB Matt Jones limited in practice Thursday

Redskins backup running back Matt Jones (toe) was limited during practice Thursday, the Washington Post reports.

Jones has been limited all week but appears on track to be available this week.
