  • Bronson Hill RB | GB

Jaguars' Bronson Hill: Logs two carries in season finale

Hill saw his first action of the season in the Jaguars' Week 17 loss to the Colts, rushing twice for 11 yards.

Hill was promoted to the 53-man roster in mid-December and was active for the Jags' final three contests. He did not carry the ball in Week 15 against Houston or Week 16 against Tennessee, but he logged a pair of carries, including a seven-yards scamper, in the season finale. Hill, 24, is unlikely to stick with the Jaguars' long term and figures to find himself on a practice squad in 2017.

  • Steelers' Fitzgerald Toussaint: Held out of practice Wednesday

Toussaint (concussion) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice session.

Toussaint entered the concussion protocol after a wild-card round win over the Dolphins in which he didn't get a single carry. If cleared for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, he likely won't see much of a role beyond special teams.

  • Storm Johnson RB | MIA

Storm Johnson: Signed to future contract with Dolphins

Johnson has signed a future contract with the Dolphins, Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

Johnson appeared in six games with the Jaguars during his rookie season in 2014, but he's bounced around since then without landing on an active roster. He'll have an opportunity throughout the upcoming offseason to prove himself in Miami.

  • Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Fine after minor car accident

Elliott was involved in a minor two-car accident Wednesday morning with no injuries reported, NFL Network's James Palmer reports.

Elliott figures to remain at full health heading into the Cowboys' divisional matchup against the Packers on Sunday, having avoided any sort of injury in the minor scare. The Packers' defense held the Giants' running backs in check last week as they were forced to play from behind for most of the game, but the Cowboys' offensive line is slated to provide Elliott with plenty of opportunities to excel in his first career playoff game.

  • Steelers' Fitzgerald Toussaint: In concussion protocol

Toussaint is dealing with concussion-like symptoms and will be monitored under league protocol, Bob Labriola of the team's official site reports.

Look for more updates to come throughout the practice week as Toussaint will have to pass testing before he can return to the field. The No. 3 back failed to see any offensive snaps in Sunday's wild-card win over the Dolphins and, if cleared to play, isn't likely to see much action against the Chiefs.

  • Bills' Jonathan Williams: Small strides in rookie season

Williams, the team's fifth-round pick out of Arkansas, finished his rookie season with 27 rushes for 94 yards and a score. He barely factored into the passing game, with just one catch for zero yards.

Williams is further along than when he picked up a DWI arrest shortly after being drafted and ran the risk of getting cut, but he worked his way back from that and a rib injury and ended up passing Reggie Bush to move into the third spot on the depth chart. Even though the Bills will have a new coaching staff coming in, there's not much likelihood of a shake-up to the running backs corps, as the LeSean McCoy/Mike Gillislee combo's about as good as it gets as a 1-2 punch. We'll see if the new staff takes a liking to Williams, enough to give him meaningful carries as a No. 3 back, though assuming the top-2 guys are back and healthy, he'll need to wait for an injury in order to have a role that registers on the fantasy radar.

  • Panthers' Cameron Artis-Payne: Only three appearances

Artis-Payne rushed 36 times for 144 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching his lone target for 11 yards in just three games played this season.

Artis-Payne, Carolina's 2015 fifth-round pick, was a healthy scratch for the vast majority of this season despite doing fairly well in his limited action. Coach Ron Rivera indicated that Artis-Payne's similar skill set to starting tailback Jonathan Stewart makes him somewhat redundant when all the Panthers running backs are healthy. As a result, Fozzy Whittaker was preferred as a change-of-pace option behind Stewart, with fullback Mike Tolbert and quarterback Cam Newton also factoring into ball-carrying duties. While Stewart being sidelined allowed Artis-Payne to rush 18 times for 85 yards and two scores in Week 5, the latter's fantasy stock remains untouchable until he consistently earns active status.

  • Packers' Christine Michael: Leads team in rushing in playoff victory

Michael had 10 carries for 47 yards in Sunday's playoff victory over the Giants.

Michael provided a spark for the Green Bay running game in the second half of Sunday' contest, leading the team in rushing while also tallying his most yards in a game since joining the Packers in November. He worked as the backup running back behind Ty Montgomery on Sunday and would likely be in line for added carries should Montgomery -- who left Sunday's game before returning -- be limited at all in next week's matchup with the Cowboys.

  • Ameer Abdullah RB | JAC

Lions' Ameer Abdullah: Approaching return to health

Abdullah anticipates being ready to fully participate in the Lions' spring practices, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Abdullah landed on injured reserve after suffering a foot injury during Week 2. While the time since then has given him a significant recovery period, it's still unclear exactly what Abdullah's foot problem is. Regardless, he expects to be ready for offseason practices, which bodes well for him returning to a prominent role in a Detroit backfield that recently featured Zach Zenner and Dwayne Washington in his absence because Theo Riddick (wrist) missed the Lions' final four regular season games with an injury of his own.

  • Buccaneers' Jacquizz Rodgers: Revives career in 2016

Rodgers wrapped up the 2016 season with 129 carries for 560 yards and two touchdowns along with 13 receptions (on 16 targets) for 98 yards over 10 games.

The sixth-year pro was the surprise of the Bucs near-playoff season in 2016, especially considering he didn't seem to be on the team's radar heading into the season. After opening his career with four years in Atlanta as a change-of-pace option, Rodgers spent an uneventful 2015 campaign in Chicago, playing in only five games and seeing only 15 total touches from scrimmage. However, his past Falcons tenure with Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter and others on the team's staff bore fruit once both Doug Martin (hamstring) and Charles Sims (knee) were sidelined during the first four weeks of the 2016 season, as Rodgers was thrust into a starter's role that he ended up thriving in. The Oregon State product opened his stint as the top runner with back-to-back 100-yard outings against the Panthers and 49ers, respectively, and was in the midst of another productive afternoon against the Raiders in Week 8 before succumbing to a foot injury that would sideline him for the following four games. Rodgers eventually returned to a starting role for the final two games of the season after Martin departed the team due to a pending PED suspension, totaling 138 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries and three receptions for 19 yards over that span. The expanded opportunity he saw in 2016 helped Rodgers shatter the third-down back label he'd previously been saddled with, as he carried the ball a combined 56 times over Weeks 5 and 7, while seeing double-digit totes in three other contests as well. He thus heads into the offseason as a potential full-time tailback for the first time in his career, and given his favorable track record with the team's coaching staff, diverse skill set, and Martin's uncertain future, he figures to have a strong chance of returning to Tampa on a potential multi-year deal.
