Green did next to nothing in the preseason, so his termination isn't a surprise. He's a candidate for the practice squad.

Barner was released by the Chargers on Saturday, Ricky Henne of the team's official site reports.

Barner was outperformed by undrafted rookie Austin Ekeler in the preseason, so his release isn't a total surprise. As a vested veteran, Barner is immediately eligible to sign elsewhere.

Grimes was waived by the Jaguars on Saturday, Mike Kaye of WTLV reports.

Grimes was essentially brought in as a camp body and never seemed to have a legitimate chance of making the roster. He's an unlikely candidate for the practice squad, so expect him to hit the free-agent market if he clears waivers.

Rogers was waived by the Rams on Saturday, ESPN's Alden Gonzalez reports.

While Rogers is a surprising cut, head coach Sean McVay reportedly had little use for fullbacks in his offense this summer. Look for the team to sign him to its practice squad, barring another team claiming Rogers off waivers.

Bolden was released on Saturday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

This comes as a minor surprise considering Bolden is a valuable contributor on special teams. The Patriots might still try to bring him back before Week 1 or early in the season, but there's no real path to playing time on offense behind Mike Gillislee, Rex Burkhead, James White and Dion Lewis.

Green won the No. 5 job at running back, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

The Lions already knew Green could be an asset on special teams, but they were probably pleasantly surprised by his scintillating offensive performance in the preseason finale, where Green carried eight times for 63 yards and caught four passes for 87 yards and a score -- including a 74-yard catch and run in which Green broke multiple tackles before weaving his way into the painted area. However, as the No. 5 runner in Detroit, Green's at least a couple injuries away from gaining any fantasy relevance.

Draughn was released by the Giants on Saturday, Ralph Vacchiano of SNY reports.

Draughn's tenure with the Giants got off to a rocky start due to an ankle injury that caused him to open training camp on the PUP list. He wasn't activated until mid-August and evidently didn't do enough in his limited time to warrant a roster spot. However, he could still be a valuable addition to a team in need of pass-catching options out of the backfield.

Toussaint (leg) was cut by the Steelers on Saturday, the team's official site reports.

This comes as a minor surprise, considering the Steelers are left with two power backs (James Conner and Terrell Watson) behind starter Le'Veon Bell. Toussaint's pass-catching ability would come in handy in the event of a Bell injury, but it seems Watson made a strong impression with his powerful running during the preseason. The Steelers likely will check in on Toussaint if anything happens to Bell during the season. There hasn't been anything to suggest Toussaint's leg injury is serious.

Ogunbowale was waived by the Texans on Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Ogunbowale had only 10 carries for 30 yards and four receptions for 20 yards in three preseason games. The 23-year-old was always a long shot for the role of third-down running back, but remains a good practice squad candidate.

Carey (wrist) was placed on injured reserve by the Bears on Saturday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The move isn't exactly surprising after Carey underwent surgery on his wrist in late August. The 25-year-old was expected to miss about six weeks and is not eligible to return from IR, since he didn't officially make the 53-man roster.
