  • Aaron Jones RB | MIN

Packers' Aaron Jones: Inactive in Week 1

Jones is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Seahawks

Listed as the No. 3 running back on the depth chart, Jones will don street clothes while fellow rookies Jamaal Williams and Devante Mays serve as reserves for Ty Montgomery. Getting passed by Mays is a bit of a surprise after Jones averaged 6.2 YPC in the preseason. Sunday's deactivation may forecast Jones' availability in weeks to come.

  • Panthers' Cameron Artis-Payne: Inactive Sunday

Artis-Payne is inactive for Sunday's season opener against the 49ers.

Despite an impressive preseason, Artis-Payne was scratched in Week 1. He's off the fantasy radar as long as fellow running backs Jonathan Stewart and Christian McCaffrey remain healthy.

  • Thomas Rawls RB | JAC

Seahawks' Thomas Rawls: Inactive in Week 1

Rawls (ankle) is listed as inactive Sunday in Green Bay.

Entering the weekend, head coach Pete Carroll considered Rawls a game-time decision, but the running back's potential to play waned as Sunday dawned. Rawls' absence in Week 1 is an opportunity to give his ankle some additional rest in the early going. In the interim, Eddie Lacy is expected to head the backfield, while C.J. Prosise serves in a change-of-pace capacity.

  • Bears' Benny Cunningham: Injures ankle Sunday

Cunningham is questionable to return to Sunday's game versus the Falcons due to an ankle injury, Stacey Dales of NFL Network reports.

Cunningham needed help to get to the sideline and was carted to the locker room after an examination. While the extent of the ankle issue is unknown, Tarik Cohen will handle some pass-catching duties in Cunningham's absence.

  • Bears' Benny Cunningham: Suffers knee injury Sunday

Cunningham (knee) was carted to the locker room during Sunday's game against the Falcons, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Cunningham required assistance to reach the sideline, where his left knee was examined, according to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times. Shortly thereafter, a cart was ordered up to transport Cunningham to the locker room. If he remains out, rookie Tarik Cohen will complement starter Jordan Howard as the Bears' pass-catching back.

  • Zach Zenner RB | NO

    Lions' Zach Zenner: Inactive Sunday

Zenner is inactive Sunday versus the Cardinals.

Despite being listed as the No. 3 running back on the depth chart, Zenner will yield reserve duty to Dwayne Washington, perhaps due to the back injury that hampered him in practice during the week. Zenner may require an ailment to one or both of expected starters Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick in order to work his way into the offense.

  • Eagles' Donnel Pumphrey: Inactive due to coach's decision

Pumphrey is inactive due to coach's decision for Sunday's Week 1 matchup with the Redskins.

Pumphrey is likely the last running back on the Eagles' depth chart. Given the team's good health at this point in the season, Pumphrey is a healthy scratch for Week 1.

  • Thomas Rawls RB | JAC

Seahawks' Thomas Rawls: Could be held out Sunday

Rawls could be held out Sunday against the Packers in order to allow his injured ankle to get closer to 100 percent, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Rawls has been considered a game-time decision despite practicing every day this week, but with Eddie Lacy, C.J. Prosise and Chris Carson all healthy, the Seahawks have the luxury of allowing Rawls a little more time before putting him on the field.

  • Matt Jones RB | WAS

    Matt Jones: Waived by Colts

The Colts opted to waive Jones on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The move was made in order to create room on the roster for returning guard Adam Redmond. Jones spent the latter half of the 2016 season as a healthy scratch after beginning the year as the Redskins' starting tailback. Washington ultimately released him during roster cuts, and he was subsequently claimed by the Colts. Robert Turbin is pretty locked in as Frank Gore's backup, and fourth-round rookie Marlon Mack seemingly has more long-term upside, so it makes sense that Jones would be the odd man out. It should be noted the Bears attempted to claim Jones off waivers last week, so that could be a potential landing spot for the Florida product.

  • Ka'Deem Carey RB | CHI

Ka'Deem Carey: Waived from injured reserve

The Bears waived Carey (wrist) on Friday after both parties came to terms on an injury settlement, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Carey underwent wrist surgery in mid-August, which was expected to keep him sidelined for six weeks. He was going to be forced to sit on the Bears' IR for the remainder of the season if both sides could not come to terms on a settlement. The running back will now be free to find a new opportunity once his health allows it.
