  • Aaron Jones RB | MIN

Packers' Aaron Jones: Preseason debut on tap

Jones (hamstring) will make his preseason debut Thursday against the Raiders, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. He's slated to play a series during the contest.

As far as daily purposes go, Jones likely won't be of much use if he only takes the field for one series Thursday, but it's a true sign the hamstring issue that plagues him early in camp is no longer lingering. He should serve as Green Bay's primary back again in 2019 and could see marked improvement on his 133 carries for 728 yards and eight touchdowns from a season ago if he can stay healthy for the full 16 games.

  • Jeff Wilson RB | MIA

49ers' Jeff Wilson: Scores in preseason debut

Wilson (calf) carried the ball nine times for 33 yards and a touchdown in Monday's preseason win over Denver.

Wilson missed the 49ers' first preseason contest with a calf injury, but he looked healthy after the brief absence. The 23-year-old proved he can hang in the NFL when he was forced into action off of the practice squad last season (66 carries for 266 yards). That said, Wilson will find it hard to make the 53-man roster if the team's current stable of running backs is healthy when roster cuts are due.

  • 49ers' Jerick McKinnon: Set to do individual work

McKinnon (knee) is expected to take part in individual drills this week, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.

McKinnon received a platelet rich plasma injection about two weeks ago to help with knee soreness, and any practice he takes part in this week will be his first since then. It looks like the 49ers are going to ease McKinnon back into practicing, and it's unclear what his status will be for the regular season.

  • 49ers' Raheem Mostert: Racks up total 100 yards

Mostert (concussion) rushed six times for 58 yards and a touchdown, adding two catches for 42 yards in Monday's 24-15 preseason win over the Broncos.

Mostert not only returned from the concussion he suffered during the first week of the preseason, but he also appeared to be in midseason form by ripping off multiple big gains Monday. The 27-year-old was facing Denver's second-stringers, but he did flash big-play ability in a short spurt last season (7.7 YPC on 34 attempts). Mostert is currently fourth on the 49ers' depth chart, but he is getting increased looks while Jerick McKinnon (knee) continues to battle back from injury. Even if the latter is ready for the start of the season, Mostert's ability to contribute on special teams -- combined with the shaky health of the team's starters -- should keep him around come Week 1.

  • Derrick Henry RB | BAL

Titans' Derrick Henry: Practices again Tuesday

Henry (calf) participated in Tuesday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

This is the second straight day Henry managed to practice after his lengthy absence with a left calf strain. It's unclear whether Henry upped his participation by much Tuesday, as videos showed the tailback just participating in indivudual drills, but it's still a good sign for Henry as he makes his way back to 100 percent.

  • Ronald Jones RB | DAL

Buccaneers' Ronald Jones: Returns to practice field

Jones (knee) returned to practice Tuesday, Eduardo Encina of The Tampa Bay Times reports.

Jones appeared to hyper-extend his left knee on the opening kickoff of Friday's preseason win over the Dolphins, perhaps explaining why he was limited to two carries for seven yards. A return to practice Tuesday gives him a shot to play in Friday's exhibition against Cleveland, with the second-year pro continuing his battle against Peyton Barber in the Tampa backfield.

  • Jordan Wilkins RB | CLE

Colts' Jordan Wilkins: Up in the air for Week 1

Coach Frank Reich said Tuesday that Wilkins (foot) has "a chance" to suit up for Week 1, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.

Wilkins is considered week-to-week with a foot injury. The second-year pro appears in the lead for the No. 3 running back in Indianapolis but could face competition from Jonathan Williams (ribs), Charcandrick West or Aca'Cedric Ware if he remains sidelined for a significant amount of time.

  • Corey Clement RB | ARI

Eagles' Corey Clement: Hoping for appearance Thursday

Clement (knee) wants to play in Thursday's preseason game against Baltimore, but he probably won't know his status until Wednesday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Clement took first-team reps for the first time this summer during Monday's joint practice with the Ravens, noting afterward that he's become confident without using a brace over his surgically repaired knee. It isn't clear how he fits in an offense that also has Miles Sanders, Jordan Howard and Darren Sproles in the backfield, but the third-year pro at least seems to be healthy with enough time left to solidify his roster spot. Clement's versatility -- both on offense and special teams -- makes him a strong fit as the No. 4 running back over the likes of Josh Adams, Wendell Smallwood or Boston Scott.

  • Gus Edwards RB | LAC

Ravens' Gus Edwards: Misses practice opportunities

Edwards (undisclosed) didn't practice Sunday and Monday, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

The same goes for Kenneth Dixon (knee), who along with Edwards and Justice Hill is part of a tough battle for backup work behind Mark Ingram. The Ravens could use this as an opportunity to take another close look at the rookie Hill in Thursday's preseason game against Philadelphia.

  • Royce Freeman RB | CHI

Broncos' Royce Freeman: No yards on the ground

Freeman rushed five times for zero yards, but did catch a six-yard pass in Monday night's 24-15 preseason loss to the 49ers.

Freeman actually had a long rush of five yards, but his other four carries ultimately cancelled out that gain. In comparison, running mate Phillip Lindsay totaled 14 yards on his five totes. Both players featured into the second quarter and could see similar playing time Saturday against the Rams, when their split of touches could help shine light on their projected Week 1 workloads.
