Darwin Thompson RB | LV
Chiefs' Darwin Thompson: Minimal offensive role in Week 4
Thompson logged just four offensive snaps in Sunday's game against the Lions.
Thompson looks to be the third wheel in the Chiefs' backfield even with Damien Williams (knee) on the sidelines. That doesn't bode well for his chances of having any significant role when Williams returns to the fold. Barring a rash of injuries at the position, Thompson can likely be cut loose in the majority of formats at this point.

Royce Freeman RB | CHI
Broncos' Royce Freeman: Picks up 50 yards
Freeman ran for 16 yards on six carries and added 34 yards on four catches during Sunday's 26-24 loss to Jacksonville.
Freeman was held to a season low in rushing in a game in which head coach Vic Fangio said the Jaguars offered better opportunities to throw the ball than run it. The good news for Freeman is that -- despite his power-back reputation -- he's actually become a fairly prolific receiver with 13 catches in his last three games. The Broncos like Freeman on passing downs as he's a sturdy blocker, so look for that trend to continue Sunday against the Chargers.

Christian McCaffrey RB | SF
Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: Doesn't leave field
McCaffrey played all 68 of the Panthers' offensive snaps in Sunday's 16-10 win over the Texans.
McCaffrey has left the field for merely five of Carolina's 277 offensive snaps through the first four weeks, leaving next to no playing time for backups Reggie Bonnafon and Jordan Scarlett. With that involvement, McCaffrey has already racked up 111 touches and 629 scrimmage yards, putting him on pace to break Chris Johnson's NFL single-season record of 2,509 in the latter category. Although coach Ron Rivera and coordinator Norv Turner previously mentioned their preseason hope to scale back McCaffrey's snaps while still increasing his touches, the superstar tailback has only grown in both capacities thus far. Furthermore, with the Panthers looking to keep pace while quarterback Cam Newton (foot) remains sidelined, the ultra-productive McCaffrey only figures to continue carrying the offense, arguably making him fantasy's most-coveted commodity.

Trayveon Williams RB | CLE
Bengals' Trayveon Williams: Healthy scratch for MNF
Williams (coach's decision) won't play in Monday's game against the Steelers, Tyler Dragon of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
The rookie out of Texas A&M has yet to make his NFL regular-season debut and will have to wait another week. The fact Williams is a healthy scratch shows he's a clear No. 4 option behind Joe Mixon, Giovani Bernard and Samaje Perine in the Cincinnati backfield.

Rashaad Penny RB | CAR
Seahawks' Rashaad Penny: In line to return Thursday
Coach Pete Carroll is anticipating Penny (hamstring) being available Thursday versus the Rams, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. "He looked ready to play (Sunday at Arizona). He looked like he could have gone," Carroll said Monday. "It was kind of defying the time frames for a hamstring to be ready in eight days, of the severity that it was."
After wrapping up last week with back-to-back limited listings on the injury report, Carroll relayed that Penny had a chance to play Sunday, but it didn't come to pass. Penny upped his odds to end a two-game absence by receiving a "full" tag on Monday's report. In the wake of Chris Carson's Week 4 load -- 22 carries and four receptions -- there's a potential opportunity for additional work for Penny. That said, Carroll called Carson "fine" Monday, so it appears Penny will settle back into the No. 2 role that equated to 17 touches through the first two games of the season.

Marlon Mack RB | ARI
Colts' Marlon Mack: Ankle issue doesn't appear serious
Mack, who missed most of the fourth quarter of Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Raiders after suffering an ankle injury, was not medically ruled out of the contest. Instead, he gave way to Nyheim Hines, who the Colts typically turn to in hurry-up mode, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.
Mack finished the contest with 11 carries for 39 yards, while seeing action on 28 of the Colts' 78 snaps on offense. That amounts to a 36 percent share, compared to his Week 3 mark of 61 percent. While there's a pretty decent chance that Mack will be limited some at practice this week, his status for this coming weekend's game against the Chiefs does not seem to be in any danger, based on this report.

Devin Singletary RB | NYG
Bills' Devin Singletary: Inactive, but close
Coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Singletary (hamstring) was close to playing Sunday against the Patriots but was ultimately made a game-day inactive, The Buffalo News reports.
That means with a good practice week, Singletary could be ready to suit up again this Sunday after missing the last two games. However, we'll note the Bills do have a bye Week 6, so if they really play it safe, Singletary owners may have to wait until Week 7 to get their guy back. We'll also note Frank Gore has looked like a man 10 years younger in the rookie's absence, rushing for 185 yards over the two games Singletary has missed.

Rashaad Penny RB | CAR
Seahawks' Rashaad Penny: Gets 'full' tag Monday
Penny (hamstring) was listed as a full participant on the Seahawks' estimated injury report Monday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
In the aftermath of Sunday's win at Arizona, coach Pete Carroll relayed his expectation that Penny would return this Thursday against the Rams, per Boyle. The Seahawks listing Penny as "full" is a good sign that will come to fruition, but Carroll and company likely will want to see him on the practice field before clearing him for game action. In any case, Penny could be in line for a decent workload just four days after lead running back Chris Carson racked up a whopping 26 touches.

Jamaal Williams RB | NO
Packers' Jamaal Williams: Enters concussion protocol
A Packers spokesperson said Monday that Williams, who suffered an apparent head/neck injury in the Week 4 loss to the Eagles, has entered the NFL's concussion protocol, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Williams was present at the Packers' team facility Monday but wasn't able to meet with the media and provide an update on his condition since he remains in the protocol. Considering the running back was carted off the field and later hospitalized after taking a big blow to the head, he may have a tough time passing all five phases of the protocol before Sunday's game in Dallas arrives. If that's the case, rookie Dexter Williams would be the lone depth option at running back available behind starter Aaron Jones.

Jamaal Williams RB | NO
Packers' Jamaal Williams: Not at practice Monday
Williams (head/neck) didn't practice Monday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Williams, who was carted off the field during this past Thursday's home loss to the Eagles, subsequently spent the night at a local hospital, but was discharged Friday morning. If Williams is unable to suit up this Sunday against the Cowboys -- which seems likely -- Dexter Williams is a candidate to be active as Aaron Jones' backup Week 5.
