  • Jeremy McNichols: Back to practice squad

McNichols reverted back to the Titans' practice squad Monday, according to the league's official transaction report.

With Darrynton Evans (hamstring) ruled out of Sunday's contest, the Titans added McNichols to the active roster to give them a little more depth in the backfield. He only ended up playing 11 of 62 offensive snaps but could be called upon again if Evans should miss more time.

  • LeVante Bellamy: Reverts to practice squad

Bellamy reverted to the Broncos' practice squad Monday, Jon Heath of USA Today reports.

Bellamy was added to the active roster over the weekend in order to give Denver some added depth in the backfield, but he only ended up playing 14 snaps on special teams.

  • Cam Akers RB | SEA

    Rams' Cam Akers: Considered day-to-day

Akers separated some rib cartilage in Sunday's win over the Eagles and is considered day-to-day, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.

Akers exited Sunday's game after accumulating 13 yards on just three carries. Fortunately, it appears like he avoided a serious issue, and his status for the team's upcoming matchup with the Bills figures to become more clear as the week progresses. Fellow running back Malcolm Brown (finger), who also was forced out of Sunday's victory, is expected to be available.

  • Saints' Dwayne Washington: Healthy scratch for MNF

Washington (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's game versus the Raiders, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Washington was lifted from the COVID-19 list last Thursday, but he'll sit out while Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray and Ty Montgomery suit up for the primetime game.

  • J.K. Dobbins RB | DEN

Ravens' J.K. Dobbins: Low usage Sunday

Dobbins had two carries for 48 yards Sunday against the Texans. He added one 13-yard reception on one target.

Dobbins' usage was surprisingly low Sunday after his impressive two-touchdown debut Week 1. He played 20 snaps, which was the same amount as Gus Edwards, but Edwards had 10 carries for a team-high 73 yards. The Ravens have deployed a fairly even backfield rotation thus far with Mark Ingram leading the way with 48 percent of the snap share while Dobbins has played 43 percent of the snaps and Edwards checks in at 35 percent. Dobbins did not see his first carry until midway through the third quarter. The rookie has plenty of talent, but consistent volume could be hard to come by with the Ravens using such a deep running back rotation, not to mention Lamar Jackson's contributions to the run game as well.

  • J.J. Taylor RB | HOU

Patriots' J.J. Taylor: Logs one carry in Week 2

Taylor saw just one snap on offense in Sunday's 35-30 loss to the Seahawks, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

That came in the third quarter of the contest, when Taylor lost a yard on his sole carry of the evening. The rookie also returned three kickoffs for 69 yards. Taylor remains behind Sony Michel, James White and Rex Burkhead in the Patriots' running back pecking order and is off the fantasy radar for now.

  • 49ers' Jerick McKinnon: Opportunity knocks

McKinnon appears in line to lead the 49ers' backfield against the Giants on Sunday with both Raheem Mostert (knee) and Tevin Coleman (knee) expected to be sidelined, Josh Schrock of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

McKinnon showed off his versatility and explosiveness in limited work against the Jets in Week 2, when he logged three carries for 24 yards in addition to three catches for 20 yards and a score. If he's indeed given a starting workload against the Giants in Week 3, the 28-year-old's skill set would make him a high-ceiling fantasy option in coach Kyle Shanahan's run-friendly scheme. However, it's also possible that the 49ers could cap McKinnon's touches, given that he's coming off back-to-back season-ending knee injuries. Jeff Wilson and JaMycal Hasty (practice squad) may also see backfield work as long as Mostert and Coleman are sidelined, but McKinnon at the very least should be the favorite for high-value touches, making him the likeliest option for fantasy production.

  • 49ers' Raheem Mostert: Unlikely for Week 3

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Mostert (knee) is unlikely to suit up against the Giants on Sunday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Mostert suffered an MCL sprain Week 2 against the Jets in the second quarter, after already having accumulated more than 100 yards from scrimmage and a score. Tevin Coleman (knee) also suffered a knee injury Week 2, leaving Jerick McKinnon in position to tentatively handle the bulk of San Francisco's backfield reps against the Giants. Jeff Wilson likely will spell McKinnon in the event that both Mostert and Coleman are forced to miss time.

  • Travis Homer RB | PIT

Seahawks' Travis Homer: Rushes for 21 yards

Homer recorded 21 yards on three carries in Sunday's 35-30 win over the Patriots.

All three of Homer's carries went for five or more yards, but he was still the clear No. 3 back behind Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde. Nevertheless, Homer is holding off rookie DeeJay Dallas by virtue of his special-teams abilities, as he averaged 29.7 yards per kick return, including a 44-yard return in the second quarter.

  • Colts' Nyheim Hines: Limited role Sunday

Hines had one reception for four yards and no carries in Sunday's win over Minnesota.

Hines played just nine snaps while Jonathan Taylor played 49 snaps and Jordan Wilkins played 17 snaps (rushing for 40 yards). Hines' usage is a bit confounding, but it's likely just a byproduct of a game that became a rout in the second half, and the Colts decided to use Wilkins to run out the clock. Sunday's game more likely highlights how Taylor is set to get the bulk of work with Hines in a more limited backup role than many expected. Hines should still have a larger workload in games where the team needs to make more throws to running backs.
