  • Austin Ekeler RB | WAS

Chargers' Austin Ekeler: Non-participant on practice estimate

Ekeler (quad) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate.

Ekeler was one of 12 players listed as DNP by the Chargers, so it won't be until the team takes the field for a standard practice that we'll get a handle on which players are in any danger of missing Thursday night's game against the Raiders. He logged 44 of a possible 73 snaps on offense in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Falcons, en route to carrying 15 times for 79 yards and catching all nine of his targets for 67 yards. Next up for backfield touches if he's limited at all or out Week 15 are Kalen Ballage and Justin Jackson.

  • Dolphins' Patrick Laird: Just five touches again

Laird had four carries for 19 yards during Sunday's 33-27 loss to the Chiefs. He also caught his only target for four yards.

Laird appeared to be in position for increased touches when Myles Gaskin (illness) having tested positive for COVID-19 just prior to Sunday's game, but he took a clear back seat to DeAndre Washington. It looks like Gaskin could be forced to miss more time, but Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) and Matt Breida (illness) could each have a chance to return against the Patriots in Week 15.

  • Mike Boone RB | MIA

Vikings' Mike Boone: Just two carries Sunday

Boone had two carries for eight yards and one reception for four yards in Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay.

Boone played just four snaps on offense, as he and Ameer Abdullah combined for just seven touches behind Dalvin Cook with Alexander Mattison (abdomen) out. No backup running back will have viable fantasy value in most formats as long as the Vikings continue to heavily utilize Cook.

  • Ameer Abdullah RB | JAC

Vikings' Ameer Abdullah: Gets five touches Sunday

Abdullah had three carries for 11 yards and two receptions for ten yards in Sunday's loss at Tampa Bay.

Abdullah continues to get more work with Alexander Mattison (abdomen) out, but neither he nor Mike Boone (four snaps) are getting enough touches for viable fantasy value in most formats. Dalvin Cook continues to get almost all the work (22 carries, two receptions and played on 54 of the offense's 79 snaps) as the starting running back.

  • Benny Snell RB | DET

Steelers' Benny Snell: Minimal role against Buffalo

Snell recorded three carries for 14 yards in Sunday's 26-15 loss to the Bills.

Snell saw increased work over the last several weeks with James Conner sidelined, but he was on the field for just five offensive snaps Sunday with Conner back on the field. Snell's seven-yard carry was the longest of the game for Pittsburgh, but he was outpaced by both Conner and Jaylen Samuels offensively. As long as Conner remains healthy, the 2019 fourth-rounder likely will maintain a minimal role within the Steelers offense.

  • Jeff Wilson RB | MIA

49ers' Jeff Wilson: Cashes in on goal line

Wilson rushed 11 times for 31 yards and a touchdown Sunday, adding 13 more yards on one reception (three targets) in a 23-15 loss to Washington.

Starter Raheem Mostert out-touched Wilson, 16-12, but the latter was given the opportunity to punch the ball into the end zone from one yard out in the first quarter. The 25-year-old Wilson did, however, have an ugly drop late in the contest that would have extended a comeback drive, but the trip to the end zone salvaged what would have been a disappointing game. Even though Wilson technically is the backup in this offense, he brings added fantasy value as the preferred goal-line back along with his usage in the passing game (eight targets over the last two weeks). The 49ers will take on the Cowboys and their 32nd-ranked rush defense Week 15, giving Wilson and the rest of San Francisco's rushing attack a huge boost in immediate value.

  • Jets' La'Mical Perine: Should practice soon

Coach Adam Gase said Monday that Perine (ankle) is expected to resume practicing this week, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.

The rookie fourth-round pick hasn't played since Week 11, when he injured his ankle, but it appears as though he could retake the field soon. At such time as Perine does resume practicing, a 21-day window wherein he can be monitored without counting against the active roster will begin.

  • Ronald Jones RB | DAL

Buccaneers' Ronald Jones: May have broken finger

Coach Bruce Arians said Monday that Jones may have fractured his pinky during Sunday's win over the Vikings, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

The Buccaneers are still awaiting confirmation on the severity of Jones' injury, but it sounds like he played through the issue Sunday while amassing 80 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. Jones could have to have a pin inserted if he's indeed suffered a fractured finger, but it doesn't appear that he's in any serious danger of missing time.

  • Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: Hopeful to practice Tuesday

The Panthers are optimistic that McCaffrey (shoulder/thigh) will practice Tuesday and have a chance to suit up in Green Bay on Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

McCaffrey hasn't suited up for a regular-season game since Week 9, and he's made only three appearances on the field all year. It looks as though the do-it-all running back at least has a shot to contribute against Green Bay, but fantasy managers will need to keep a close eye on his practice status. Mike Davis would figure to start again if McCaffrey can't go.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Broncos' Melvin Gordon: No suspension this season

Gordon (shoulder) has had his plea and sentencing on a DUI charge scheduled for Jan. 14 and will not be at risk of a suspension in 2020, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Gordon will finish out the 2020 campaign without risk of punishment from the NFL after having appeared in court Monday, per Klis. However, he could be handed a possible suspension come 2021. That isn't to say that the 27-year-old's immediate availability isn't without question, considering that he injured his shoulder late in Sunday's 32-27 win over the Panthers. Gordon has amassed 233 total yards in his last two appearances, but his participation in practice will need to be monitored ahead of Denver's Week 15 game against the Bills.
