Zack Moss RB | CIN
Bills' Zack Moss: Scores twice in Week 8 win
Moss rushed 14 times for 81 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 24-21 win over New England. He failed to catch his only target.
After Devin Singletary got the first five touches out of Buffalo's backfield, Moss subbed in late on Buffalo's opening drive and made an immediate impact. The rookie scampered for 21 yards on his first carry and opened the scoring with an eight-yard touchdown on his second. Moss scored again from four yards out in the third quarter, but he actually finished with five fewer rushing yards than Singletary on the same number of carries. With three scrimmage touchdowns in five games to Singletary's one score in eight, Moss is establishing himself as the better scoring option in Buffalo's backfield. He'll hope to build on this effort in Week 9 against the Seahawks.

Jonathan Taylor RB | IND
Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Stymied in win over Lions
Taylor carried 11 times for 22 yards and caught two of three targets for an additional nine yards during Sunday's 41-21 win over the Lions.
Taylor managed just 2.0 yards per carry against a beatable Detroit run defense and managed little with the passes sent his way as well. He received a couple of carries near the goal line but couldn't convert and watched as both Jordan Wilkins and Trey Burton capitalized on their respective opportunities, with Nyheim Hines contributing a pair of receiving scores. Fantasy managers had likely hoped Taylor came out of the bye week raring to go, but this poor performance was rather concerning given the seemingly inviting matchup and the success of the team's other options. Things will not get any easier in next Sunday's matchup with the Ravens.

Patrick Laird RB | TB
Dolphins' Patrick Laird: Week 8 return in question
Laird (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's matchup against the Rams, Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post reports.
The 25-year-old has been deployed mostly as a special teamer during his second active pro campaign, fielding 88 snaps in that department to just 24 total on offense. Laird was banged up during the second half of a spirited Miami performance, having yet to get involved on the stat sheet at his time of departure.

Cordarrelle Patterson RB | PIT
Bears' Cordarrelle Patterson: Active in Week 8
Patterson (quadriceps) is active for Sunday's Week 8 tilt against the Saints.
Patterson only turned in a sole limited practice this week, but reports earlier in the day had indicated he was trending up for this contest. This news now makes it official that the versatile wideout/returner/occasional running back will be available to take on a Saints defense that has been one of the league's toughest against the run but susceptible to big plays through the air thus far this season.

DeeJay Dallas RB | JAC
Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: In line for more snaps
Dallas will be one of two active running backs for the Seahawks alongside Travis Homer (knee) with Chris Carson (foot) and Carlos Hyde (hamstring) sidelined for Sunday's contest against the 49ers.
The Seahawks notably have allowed Russell Wilson to "cook" this season, ranking in the bottom 10 in rush play percentage (38.5 percent). Still, with the team down its top two RBs, and Homer tending to a knee contusion, there's a chance Dallas is the lead ball carrier Sunday. While Dallas has only played 23 snaps on offense in his brief career, the rookie fourth-rounder's six touches have translated to 41 yards from scrimmage.

Travis Homer RB | PIT
Seahawks' Travis Homer: Set for bigger role
Homer (knee) is listed as active Sunday versus the 49ers.
Among the Seahawks' top three running backs, Homer was the only one to get on the practice field this week, acting as a limited participant at Friday's session. The activity was enough for the team to clear him to play Sunday, and with Chris Carson (foot) and Carlos Hyde (hamstring) unavailable, Homer and DeeJay Dallas will be the options out of Seattle's backfield Week 8. On the season, Homer has just 21 touches for 75 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown.

Damien Harris RB | BUF
Patriots' Damien Harris: Listed as active Sunday
Harris (ankle) listed as active for Sunday's game against the Bills.
Considering the Patriots' injuries at wide receiver, as well as potentially rainy and windy weather conditions Sunday afternoon in the Buffalo area, Harris is a candidate to be busy in the absence of any setbacks. Also in the team's Week 8 backfield mix are pass-catching ace James White, versatile Rex Burkhead and rookie J.J. Taylor.
-
Dalvin Cook RB | DAL
Vikings' Dalvin Cook: Returning to action Sunday
Cook (groin) is listed as active Sunday at Green Bay, Chris Carso of the Vikings' official site reports.
Cook last took the field Week 5, when he sustained a groin injury that sidelined him for the Vikings' Week 6 loss to the Falcons. With the benefit of a bye week, though, he managed an LP/LP/FP practice regimen in advance of this game, earning a questionable designation. Now officially cleared to return, Cook will take on a Packers defense that arguably held him to his worst performance of the season back in the season opener (13 touches, 48 yards from scrimmage, two touchdowns).

Cordarrelle Patterson RB | PIT
Bears' Cordarrelle Patterson: Should play Week 8
Patterson (quadriceps), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints, is expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Coming off the Bears' Monday night loss to the Rams, Patterson only managed one limited practice this week while contending with the quad issue. The maintenance he received looks like it will be enough for Patterson to get the green light for Week 8, but the versatile wideout seems likelier to see his role within the Chicago offense shrink rather than expand after a poor showing versus Los Angeles. He turned four targets into three catches for just 11 yards and carried three times for one yard in the loss.

Damien Harris RB | BUF
Patriots' Damien Harris: Expected to suit up Sunday
Harris (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against the Bills, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Harris, who was able to practice in a limited fashion all week, noted heading into the weekend that he was feeling "fine," Mike Reiss of ESPN.com relays. Confirmation of the running back's status will arrive when the Patriots reveal their inactives prior to Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff. The team's injuries at wide receiver as well as potentially rainy and windy weather conditions on game day in the Buffalo area could well lead to New England employing a run-heavy attack in Week 8.
