Carter may be dealing with an injury, as he was in the rehab area at Monday's practice, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.

It's been an interesting summer for the fourth-round pick, starting with the first week of training camp when he reportedly got regular work with the first-team offense. Fantasy attention followed, but recent indicators point more toward a Gang Green backfield committee with three or even four players involved. Given his age, draft position and receiving ability, Carter remains the upside play among the bunch, though it isn't clear who out of him, Tevin Coleman, Ty Johnson or even La'Mical Perine (foot) will get the most work. The rookie finished his first NFL preseason with a respectable stat line -- 24 carries for 86 yards and three catches for 15 yards on three targets -- but it seems he may have gotten banged up in Friday's exhibition with the Eagles. Carter has two weeks to get ready for the season opener at Carolina on Sept. 12.

Hasty rushed six times for 55 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 34-10 preseason win over the Raiders.

Hasty made a strong impression in the 49ers' final preseason game as he competes for a roster bid. His main competition, Wayne Gallman, also had a strong outing (13 carries for 60 yards), so the final decision likely will come down to what type of back the team needs at the back end of the rotation. Whoever wins the job battle will likely be used in a reserve/special teams role heading into a Week 1 matchup against the Lions.

Felton had four carries for 15 yards, returned one kickoff for 37 yards and returned one punt for 11 yards in Sunday's 19-10 win over Atlanta in preseason Week 3.

Felton's lone kick return set up the Browns at their own 39 to start a drive that ended on downs at the Falcons' three-yard line. If it were a regular season game, it's likely that would have been three points, but head coach Kevin Stefanski took the gamble in a preseason game. Felton's punt return led to a field goal. The versatile Felton flashed early in camp and showed he was worth a roster spot in all three preseason games. He opened Sunday's game as the first kickoff returner, then played in the slot on the opening series while motioning into the backfield for some plays. It's unclear how the Browns intend to use him on offense, but it looks like he'll be the primary kick returner.

Chubb did not play in Sunday's 19-10 win over the Falcons in preseason Week 3.

Some of the Browns regulars got work Sunday -- quarterback Baker Mayfield, running back Kareem Hunt -- but Chubb was given a pass. Chubb made zero headlines during training camp, which is a good thing. Chubb and the Browns will begin preparations for Week 1 of the regular season at Kansas City.

Ollison was the third back to enter the Falcons' final preseason game Sunday, rushing five times for 21 yards in a 19-10 loss to Cleveland.

Ollison ran with the first unit last week against the Dolphins, hinting that he was the first backup in Atlanta, but it was Caleb Huntley who relieved Mike Davis against the Browns. Head coach Arthur Smith didn't offer any insight on the depth battle after the game, so we'll have to assume both backs still are in the mix. Davis is the main fantasy target in Atlanta, but whoever ends up second on the depth chart could carve out some value if a timeshare develops heading into a Week 1 matchup against the Eagles.

Vaughn rushed 15 times for 29 yards, failed to bring in his only target and returned one kickoff for 17 yards in the Buccaneers' 23-16 preseason win over the Texans on Saturday night. He also fumbled once, but it was recovered by Tampa Bay.

Vaugh once again paced the Buccaneers in carries, and despite the fact he averaged well under 3.0 yards per attempt for the third time in as many exhibitions, he doesn't appear to be in any danger of missing out on a roster spot. Greg Auman of The Athletic believes as much, considering he includes Vaughn in his 53-man roster projection as the fourth running back and a special-teams asset. However, Auman notes that Vaughn's fumble, which came on his one touch as a kickoff returner, doesn't help his chances of securing that role.

Phillips rushed eight times for a team-high 73 yards in Saturday's 23-16 loss to the Buccaneers in preseason Week 3.

Phillips finished the preseason as Houston's leading rusher, but it's probably not enough to unseat one of the four veteran backs ahead of him on the depth chart. Of the four, Rex Burkhead's spot is least secure, but the Texans might keep him and look to trade the 31-year-old to a team that needs a veteran back.

Mitchell rushed six times for 24 yards in Sunday's 34-10 preseason win over the Raiders.

Mitchell was serviceable in his first appearance as a pro. However, with Raheem Mostert, Trey Sermon, JaMycal Hasty and Wayne Gallman all excelling Sunday, it remains to be seen whether the rookie sixth-rounder has done enough to make the Niners' roster for Week 1's matchup against the Lions.

Clement rushed four times for 24 yards in Sunday's 22-20 preseason loss to the Patriots.

Clement outplayed starter Devontae Booker, who finished with just 17 yards on eight total touches. Nonetheless, as the regular season approaches, it still appears Booker is the favorite to serve as Saquon Barkley's (knee) top understudy. However, if Barkley is slowed at all, Clement could find more opportunities to see the field, beginning with Week 1's matchup versus the Broncos.

Stevenson rushed five times for 23 yards and a touchdown and caught both his targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 22-20 preseason win over the Giants.

Stevenson capped his excellent preseason with another standout performance. Although he failed on a two-point conversion attempt in the third quarter, Stevenson responded by scoring from nine yards on New England's next drive. The rookie fourth-rounder now will aim to keep his considerable momentum going in Week 1 against the Dolphins, when he'll likely be the Patriots' second rushing option behind Damien Harris.
