Jones (quadriceps) didn't practice Wednesday.

Jones was active ahead of last week's wild-card win over Washington, but he didn't take any snaps after suffering an apparent setback in pregame warmups. Though he'll have two more chances to resume practicing before the Buccaneers rule on his status for Sunday's divisional-round game at New Orleans, Jones' workload could be difficult to predict unless head coach Bruce Arians offers clarity on his plans for the 23-year-old. While Jones was on the sideline lat week, Leonard Fournette performed admirably, running 19 times for 93 yards in the win.

Edwards-Helaire (ankle/hip) was present for Wednesday's practice, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.

After Kansas City clinched the AFC's No. 1 seed in advance of the Chiefs' Week 17 game against the Chargers, Edwards-Helaire was held out of the team's regular-season finale. The running back's presence on the field Wednesday suggest that he's trending toward a return to action Sunday in the Chiefs' postseason opener versus the Browns. The Chiefs will issue their first official practice report of the week later Wednesday, revealing the extent of Edwards-Helaire's participation in the session.

Though he was active for Tampa Bay's win over Washington in the wild-card round, Jones didn't actually take any snaps in the game. His absence Wednesday isn't a great sign, but he still has two more chances to get on the practice field before the end of the week. If Jones is out or limited again, Leonard Fournette would be a clear favorite to lead the Tampa backfield Sunday in New Orleans.

Gordon ran for 986 yards and nine touchdowns on 215 carries in 2020 while adding 32 catches on 44 targets for 158 yards and a touchdown. He lost four fumbles during the season.

The debate in Denver heading into the season was how the Broncos would find ways to get the ball into the hands of its two talented backs -- Gordon and Phillip Lindsay.  The answer was largely just to feed Gordon. Gordon averaged 16.5 touches per game to Lindsay's 11.4 during the 2020 season and the raw touch numbers show greater disparity as Lindsay missed five full games with toe, knee and hip injuries. Gordon proved to be the difference in a couple of Denver's wins, including those against the Jets and Dolphins. His abilities as an inside runner and in the passing game also seemed to make him a better fit than Lindsay in Pat Shurmur's offense. Gordon's fumbles were a major issue and arguably cost the Broncos the season opener against Tennessee and almost came back to bite them against Miami. He also faces a suspension stemming from a DUI to start the 2021 campaign. The offseason won't, however, have as many questions as last: Gordon is the lead back in Mile High.

Moss (ankle) was moved to injured reserve Tuesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

Moss was already deemed out for the season after suffering an ugly ankle injury during Saturday's win over the Colts. In playoff formats that requires an official IR designation before a player can be replaced, Moss is now eligible to be swapped out.

Jacobs won't be charged with a DUI following a Jan. 4 arrest related to a single vehicle collision in Las Vegas, Nev., Glenn Puit of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Jacobs' legal woes aren't over, though, as he faces a misdemeanor count of failure to decrease speed or use due care under certain circumstances. Once the legal process works itself out -- he has a March court date on the docket -- the NFL could levy a punishment if he was deemed to violate the personal conduct policy. On the field this past season, Jacobs accounted for 1,303 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns on 273 carries and 33 catches (45 targets) in 15 games.

Armah finished the 2020 season with six rushes for nine yards and five receptions on nine targets for 18 yards in 16 games.

Armah once again served as Carolina's fullback, playing all 16 games for a third straight season. Unlike the prior two campaigns, though, Armah wasn't able to find the end zone at all, and he was featured on less than 15 percent of the Panthers' total offensive snaps. As one of the few true fullbacks in the league with experience filling an occasional offensive role, the veteran should garner interest as a free agent this offseason.

Leake signed a reserve/future contract with Washington on Monday.

An undrafted rookie out of Maryland, Leake bounced back and forth between Washington's practice squad this past season. The running back saw the field once in 2020, logging six special-teams snaps against the 49ers in Week 14.

Williams spent a short period of time on Washington's practice squad this year after being jettisoned from the Lions. While this past season was a quiet one for the running back, he logged 49 carries for 235 yards and a touchdown with the Colts in 2019.

With Zack Moss (ankle) expected to miss the rest of the playoffs, Singletary is set for the lead role in Buffalo's backfield, USA Today's Bradley Gelber reports.

Moss and Singletary worked in a 50/50 split for most of the season, apart from Weeks 3-5 when the rookie was out with a toe injury. Singletary handled 89, 89 and 63 percent of offensive snaps in those three games, averaging 14.0 carries for 50.7 yards and 0.33 TDs, plus 3.3 catches for 26.3 yards on 4.0 targets. The Bills could turn to Singletary in an every-down role again, but they also might let T.J. Yeldon and/or Taiwan Jones handle some snaps this Saturday against the Ravens.
