  • Matt Breida RB | SF

Bills' Matt Breida: Limited production as second RB

Breida rushed four times for just four yards and was not targeted in the passing game in Sunday's loss to the Steelers.

Breida received a surprise promotion -- at least for one week -- when the Bills made Zack Moss a healthy inactive, for reasons still not yet fully known. Moss was a high draft pick and had a promising rookie season, so we imagine he'll be back in uniform sooner rather than later. Breida did nothing Sunday to merit a bigger role longer term. He only saw the field for 10 offensive snaps compared to Devin Singletary's 64.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Giants' Saquon Barkley: Again estimated as limited

Barkley (knee) remained an estimated limited participant in Tuesday's walkthrough practice, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Barkley seems unlikely to significantly ramp up his practice participation any time soon as he returns from a major knee injury, but he emerged from a Week 1 clash with Denver without suffering any setbacks. The plan is for Barkley to suit up for Thursday's game against Washington, but he may remain on a limited pitch count as he continues to work his way back into peak condition.

  • Football Team's Antonio Gibson: Full participant Tuesday

Gibson (shoulder) was a full participant during Tuesday's practice session, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

Gibson's progression from limited to full after just one session clears the way for him to play in Thursday's contest against the Giants. The second-year back got off to a solid start in the season opener versus the Chargers, rushing 20 times for 90 yards while reeling in three of his five targets for another 18 yards. He should be in line to head the Washington backfield again this week.

  • Boston Scott RB | PIT

Eagles' Boston Scott: Doesn't see field Sunday

Scott was not part of the game plan in Week 1 as Miles Sanders (47 snaps) and Kenneth Gainwell (25 snaps) shared the running back duties against the Falcons on Sunday.

The rookie Gainwell was expected to take over the No. 2 role behind Sanders at some point this season, but Scott being kept on the sideline for the entirety of Week 1 is still surprising. The 26-year-old appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles last year and rushed 80 times for 374 yards and caught 25 passes for 212 yards. Sanders notched 19 total touches for 113 yards, while Gainwell tallied 11 touches for 43 yards. Scott will likely remain on the sideline if the duo continues to produce the way it did against the Falcons.

  • Saints' Dwayne Washington: Stuck on special teams

Washington logged 14 snaps on special teams during Sunday's 38-3 win over Green Bay.

Washington didn't see any action on offense as the No. 3 back behind Alvin Kamara and Tony Jones, nor did he get a chance to return a kickoff since Green Bay only kicked off once and it went for a touchback. The 27-year-old will look to get his first touch of the season when the Saints travel to Carolina in Week 2.

  • Ronald Jones RB | DAL

Buccaneers' Ronald Jones: Named starter heading into Week 2

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said that Jones will serve as the team's starting running back in Sunday's game against the Falcons, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.

Though he entered Week 1 atop the depth chart, Jones didn't actually start in the Bucs' season-opening win over the Cowboys, as he wasn't on the field for the team's first snap. He didn't end up working as a de facto starter, either, as he played just nine percent of the team's offensive snaps, trailing fellow running backs Leonard Fournette (64 percent) and Gio Bernard (27 percent). Jones' limited use was largely the byproduct of a fumble early in the contest, but Arians said he believes the 24-year-old will bounce back fine in Week 2. Despite Arians labeling him as the starter, Jones can't be trusted to see the bulk of the backfield work Week 2, particularly if he struggles to get going on the ground early and/or if the Buccaneers are forced into a more pass-happy game script.

  • Lions' Godwin Igwebuike: No offensive snaps

Igwebuike logged 19 snaps on special teams during Sunday's 41-33 loss to the 49ers.

The converted safety didn't see any snaps on offense. Instead, Igwebuike filled multiple roles on special teams where his biggest impact came at kick returner.

  • Samaje Perine RB | CIN

Bengals' Samaje Perine: Limited behind Mixon

Perine had five carries for 22 yards and one catch for seven yards in Sunday's overtime win over the Vikings.

Perine was limited to 15 offensive snaps, compared to 54 for Joe Mixon. The good news for Perine is that he's clearly the top backup to Mixon, as teammate Chris Evans didn't get any snaps on offense. The bad news is that the Bengals followed through on their intent to make Mixon a workhorse.

  • Ravens' Latavius Murray: Scores in team debut

Murray rushed 10 times for 28 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 33-27 overtime loss to the Raiders.

Murray only signed with the Ravens a few days ago, but amid the team's backfield injury crisis, the veteran actually led Baltimore's tailbacks in carries. Admittedly, starter Ty'Son Williams was close behind with nine totes, from which he produced an impressive 65 yards and a touchdown. Williams also caught three of four targets for 29 yards, but in scoring a eight-yard touchdown himself, Murray at least contributed immediately in his debut. Going forward, it'll be interesting to see how the Ravens split opportunities between Williams, Murray, Trenton Cannon and current practice-squad members Le'Veon Bell and Devonta Freeman, but the big-bodied Murray showed the scoring punch he can offer now that Gus Edwards (knee) isn't around for short-yardage situations.

  • Kenyan Drake RB | GB

Raiders' Kenyan Drake: Makes impact as receiver

Drake rushed six times for 11 yards but caught all five of his targets for 59 yards in Monday night's 33-27 overtime win against the Ravens.

Drake saw teammate Josh Jacobs cleared for action prior to kickoff and proceed to rush for two touchdowns. However, considering Jacobs managed only 34 yards on his 10 carries and caught only one pass for six yards, Drake outgained his new backfield partner overall. The split in touches between the former Dolphin and Cardinal and Jacobs will be an interesting sub-plot to monitor early on, but it's encouraging that Drake was able to make an impact in the passing game on a night when he was stymied on the ground. However, up next is another tough matchup, as the Raiders faces the Steelers in Week 2.
