Salvon Ahmed RB | CHI
Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Leads team in carries
Ahmed had six carries for 17 yards during Sunday's 35-0 blowout loss to the Bills. He also failed to secure any of his three targets.
Ahmed (2.8 YPC) technically handled more carries than either Myles Gaskin (5.0 YPC) or Malcolm Brown (4.2 YPC), who each rushed five times, but he was the least efficient backfield option of the trio. Nor is it encouraging that Ahmed couldn't get anything going on any of his three targets, though it may not be wise to make too much of a game in which Jacoby Brissett failed to move the Dolphins' offense in any respect. As long as both Gaskin and Brown remain healthy, it's hard to envision Ahmed handling more than single-digit offensive touches.

Jermar Jefferson RB | SF
Lions' Jermar Jefferson: Pro debut to wait
Jefferson (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's contest at Green Bay.
For the second consecutive week to start his career, the 2021 seventh-round pick will be a healthy scratch. As a result, Godwin Igwebuike will handle a special teams role and act as the third running back in the event one of D'Andre Swift (groin) or Jamaal Williams (chest) needs a breather.

D'Andre Swift RB | CHI
Lions' D'Andre Swift: Suiting up, as expected
Swift (groin) is active for Monday's game at Green Bay.
In the aftermath of Week 1, Swift's practice reps were capped by a groin injury, and despite getting back to a full practice Saturday he still was considered questionable to play Monday. Coach Dan Campbell said Swift was fine, though, and indeed the running back is available alongside Jamaal Williams (chest). If the season opener was any indication, Swift will log about twice as many snaps on offense as Williams, which resulted in 19 touches for 104 scrimmage yards and one TD for the second-year back against the 49ers versus 17-110-1 for Williams.

Elijah Mitchell RB | PHI
49ers' Elijah Mitchell: Listed as day-to-day
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Mitchell (shoulder) is day-to-day, Josh Dubow of the Associated Press reports.
Mitchell left Sunday's contest late in the fourth quarter, but he was able to return and finish the contest. The rookie appears to be the lead back for San Francisco after Raheem Mostert underwent season-ending surgery after sustaining a knee injury in the season opener. Fellow running backs Trey Sermon (concussion) and JaMycal Hasty (ankle) both suffered injuries Sunday that will possibly keep them out Week 3, so the 49ers are looking at recently acquired Trenton Cannon as the only healthy running back on their roster. If Mitchell is able to suit up against the Packers, he should feast on what has been a subpar run defense in Green Bay over the past few years.

JaMycal Hasty RB | NE
49ers' JaMycal Hasty: Has high ankle sprain
The injury Hasty suffered Sunday against the Eagles was a high-ankle sprain which coach Kyle Shanahan said will keep him "out for awhile," Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
High-ankle sprains normally entail multi-week recovery timelines, so Hasty can be ruled out of Sunday's game against the Packers and may need to miss additional time beyond that as well. Fourth-stringer Trenton Cannon is the only healthy running back left on San Francisco's roster, but the extent of the injuries sustained by rookies Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) and Trey Sermon (concussion) has yet to be determined.

Josh Jacobs RB | GB
Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Looking uncertain for Week 3
Coach Jon Gruden said Monday that Jacobs (toe/ankle) is day-to-day and "very questionable" to face the Dolphins in Week 3, Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Jacobs wasn't able to suit up against the Steelers in Week 2, and it looks like he's no lock to return to full health in time to face Miami. Kenyan Drake was out-carried by Peyton Barber in Jacobs' absence Sunday, but neither running back managed much in the way of efficiency on the ground against Pittsburgh's stout defensive front.
-
Alexander Mattison RB | MIA
Vikings' Alexander Mattison: Has 28 total yards Sunday
Mattison had three carries for 11 yards and one reception for 17 yards on his only target in Sunday's loss to Arizona.
Mattison played 13 snaps on offense, slightly up from nine snaps last week, but he had four touches compared to two last week. He'll have a minimal role as long as Dalvin Cook is healthy. However, Mattison's workload could increase Week 3 if the sprained ankle that Cook suffered Sunday limits his snaps.

Gary Brightwell RB | CIN
Giants' Gary Brightwell: Not part of offense in Week 2
Brightwell didn't record an offensive snap during Thursday's contest against Washington.
Brightwell played eight offensive snaps and caught his only target for six yards in Week 1, but he wasn't part of the offense in Week 2. The 22-year-old is not a viable fantasy option as long as Saquon Barkley and Devontae Booker are healthy.
-
Jeremy McNichols RB | WAS
Titans' Jeremy McNichols: Remains involved as pass catcher
McNichols recorded only rush for three yards in Sunday's Week 2 win over Seattle. He added three receptions for 26 yards.
Derrick Henry took over the game in the second half, which left McNichols to occupy a smaller role than usual. After playing on 36 percent of offensive snaps in Week 1, he was on the field only 24 percent of the time in Week 2. However, McNichols did maintain a role in the passing game and appears to be the clear backup to Henry for the time being.

Marlon Mack RB | ARI
Colts' Marlon Mack: Gets first carries of season
Mack had five carries for 16 yards and didn't have a reception on his lone target in Sunday's loss to the Rams.
Mack didn't play Week 1, despite being healthy, so this is a positive step, despite his small role. He played 12 snaps on offense compared to 25 snaps for Nyheim Hines and 30 snaps for Jonathan Taylor. Mack's role could increase, but he'll still be the distant third option in the Indy backfield if the top two backs are healthy.
