Demetric Felton RB | WAS
Browns' Demetric Felton: Role likely to increase sans Landry
Felton is expected to take on added reps as a slot receiver during the Browns' next three games after Jarvis Landry (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. "We are excited about Demetric," head coach Kevin Stefanski said. "He has worked really hard throughout the spring and summer. As you guys have seen, he has been in the running back room and in the wide receiver room."
After playing exclusively on special teams in a Week 1 loss to Kansas City, Felton provided a spark for the Browns on only three offensive snaps in a Week 2 win over the Texans. The rookie sixth-round pick out of UCLA was targeted twice during his limited time on the field, hauling in both looks for 51 yards and gaining most of his real estate after the catch. Though Felton is listed on the Browns' unofficial depth chart as a running back, he has plenty of experience playing out of the slot from his college days. Along with Felton, Odell Beckham (knee) -- who could make his season debut Sunday -- and fellow wideouts Donovan Peoples-Jones, Rashard Higgins and Anthony Schwartz should absorb most of Landry's vacated target volume, although Stefanski could also make more use of two-tight end sets.

Latavius Murray RB | BUF
Ravens' Latavius Murray: Scores in second straight game
Murray had nine carries for 36 yards and a score Sunday against the Chiefs.
The veteran has averaged 9.5 carries per game through two outings with his new team and has punched in a touchdown in each game thus far. Ty'Son Williams out-snapped Murray and was more effective on a per-carry basis (5.9 YPC), but it's clear the Ravens want to keep Murray involved in the run game. Baltimore heads to Detroit to face the Lions in Week 3.

Jacques Patrick RB | NYJ
49ers' Jacques Patrick: Signs on with Niners
Patrick will be signed by the 49ers on Tuesday off the Bengals' practice squad, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The 24-year-old is expected to make his NFL debut Sunday against the Packers, more than two years after completing his collegiate career at Oklahoma. Patrick, a former XFL standout, will provide a healthy option in a 49ers backfield that currently has Raheem Mostert (knee) on injured reserve, Jeff Wilson (knee) on the PUP list and JaMycal Hasty (ankle) already ruled out for Week 3. Additionally, Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) and Trey Sermon (concussion) are uncertain for Sunday, potentially paving the way for Patrick and Trenton Cannon to have sizable roles. If both Mitchell and Sermon end up being ruled out, the 6-foot-2, 228-pound Patrick could operate as the 49ers' lead option on the ground, while the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Cannon would be better suited for change-of-pace work. Patrick tallied 156 rushing yards and a touchdown on 31 attempts (5.0 per carry) during the preseason with Cincinnati.

AJ Dillon RB | CAR
Packers' AJ Dillon: Plays complementary role Monday
Dillon had five carries for 18 yards and one reception for eight yards in Monday's 35-17 victory over the Lions.
Dillon got the ball on just under a third of the 19 plays he was in the game for, but it was the Aaron Jones show in the backfield Monday night, and Dillon played only a complementary role. Dillon has not yet come close to matching the snaps and touches former backup running back Jamaal Williams put up the past two seasons, but his opportunities could still increase at some point to help keep Jones fresh.

Boston Scott RB | PIT
Eagles' Boston Scott: Uninvolved in offense again
Scott saw no snaps on offense in Sunday's loss to the 49ers.
The 2018 sixth-round pick has yet to play an offensive snap this season as Kenneth Gainwell has assumed all of the backup work behind Miles Sanders. Scott has played exclusively on special teams to this point.

Jamaal Williams RB | NO
Lions' Jamaal Williams: Quiet against former team
Williams rushed seven times for 25 yards and caught all three of his targets for 12 yards in Monday night's 35-17 loss to the Packers.
Williams struggled to get much going against his former team. He split snaps with D'Andre Swift in the first half, then was hurt by Detroit committing two quick turnovers in the second. Overall, his production trailed that of Swift, who managed 78 yards on 12 total touches. While both players will aim to improve their outputs in Week 3, another tough matchup awaits as the Lions host the Ravens.

D'Andre Swift RB | CHI
Lions' D'Andre Swift: Salvages production late
Swift rushed eight times for 37 yards and caught four of five targets for 41 yards in Monday night's 35-17 loss to the Packers.
Swift rotated snaps with Jamaal Williams in the first half, but then both tailbacks suffered from Detroit not having many offensive plays in the second. Fortunately, Swift was able to salvage some value in garbage time, hauling in three passes on the Lions' last drive. Given his promising dual-threat skill set, Swift could benefit from similar situations throughout the campaign -- that was the case in Week 1, and it could be again in a tough matchup versus the Ravens in Week 3.

Aaron Jones RB | MIN
Packers' Aaron Jones: Sensational four-TD performance
Jones rushed 17 times for 67 yards and a touchdown and caught all six of his targets for 48 yards and three more scores in Monday night's 35-17 win over the Lions.
Jones turned in the second four-touchdown display of his career by getting a hat trick through the air before adding a one-yard plunge in the fourth quarter. After the game plan went away from him in an ugly Week 1 showing, the Packers' offense found success with Jones as the focal point from the get-go Monday. The tailback scored in a variety of ways -- all from inside the 15-yard line -- and racked up 115 scrimmage yards in the process. As one of the league's most dynamic playmakers, Jones will try to build on his momentum in Week 3, but a tough matchup at the 49ers awaits.

Larry Rountree III RB | HOU
Chargers' Larry Rountree: Poor outing in loss
Rountree lost a combined two yards on his only target and carry in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Cowboys.
One week after recording eight carries for 27 yards, the rookie sixth-round pick took a back seat to Justin Jackson from a yardage perspective (29 total yards) and snaps (16 to 10 in favor of Jackson). The snap totals at least reflect a close competition for the backup role behind Austin Ekeler, but the extra usage of both Rountree and Jackson could essentially boil down to whether or not the Chargers are playing from behind.

Otis Anderson RB | LAR
Otis Anderson: Cut from Rams' practice squad
Anderson has been terminated from the Rams' practice squad.
Anderson spent training camp with the Rams after going undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. He rushed for 1,413 yards and nine touchdowns to go along with 45 receptions for 444 yards and three more scores in 22 games during two collegiate seasons. He will now look for a new opportunity.
