  • Matt Breida RB | SF

Bills' Matt Breida: Another healthy scratch

Breida (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Sunday at Kansas City.

Since playing 12 offensive snaps and 17 more plays on special teams between Weeks 1 and 2, Breida has been a healthy scratch for three straight games. With Breida taking in the contest from the sideline, Devin Singletary and Zack Moss will split the running back work, while Taiwan Jones (hamstring) operates on special teams.

  • Samaje Perine RB | CIN

Bengals' Samaje Perine: Good in expanded role

Perine rushed 11 times for 59 yards and caught four of five targets for 24 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 25-22 overtime loss to the Packers.

Perine opened the scoring with a four-yard touchdown reception and proceeded to lead Cincinnati's backfield despite starter Joe Mixon playing through an ankle injury. Whereas Mixon managed 35 scrimmage yards and a score from his 11 touches, Perine comfortably set season highs across the board, taking advantage of his newfound opportunity. Although it's possible Mixon gets closer to full health to command a larger workload in Week 6 versus the winless Lions, Perine's performance Sunday could garner him more chances to show his stuff from his second-string role.

  • AJ Dillon RB | CAR

Packers' AJ Dillon: Catches touchdown pass

Dillon rushed eight times for 30 yards and caught all four of his targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 25-22 overtime win against the Bengals.

Dillon surprised with his passing-game involvement early on, with all of his personal-best four receptions, including his first touchdown catch, coming before halftime. The bulldozing tailback then returned to his more customary role in the second half, ripping off a couple of nice runs in the third quarter. Although starter Aaron Jones saw 18 touches and racked up 103 rushing yards, Dillon also fared well while commanding double-digit touches for the second straight week. Now with back-to-back games of at least 75 scrimmage yards, Dillon will hope to remain a regular, productive complement to Jones in Week 6 versus the Bears.

  • Football Team's Antonio Gibson: Carries offense in loss

Gibson rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries in Sunday's 33-22 loss to the Saints. He also caught both his targets for 12 yards.

The running back dealt with a stress fracture in his shin throughout the week in practice, but Gibson still handled his usual workload and scored Washington's only two TDs of the day, punching the ball home from five yards out in the second quarter and from the one-yard line in the fourth. Assuming he's able to keep playing through his injury, Gibson could be poised for another big performance in Week 6 against a soft Kansas City run defense.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Tough sledding Sunday

Sanders rushed 11 times for 45 yards and caught all five of his targets for six yards in Sunday's 21-18 win over the Panthers.

Sanders understandably struggled with the Eagles passing 24 times versus handing the ball to tailbacks on just four occasions in the first half. While it took Philadelphia protecting a late lead to balance its play-calling distribution more toward the run, Sanders at least benefitted then, going for 18 yards to begin the game's final possession. Overall, his closing work helped Sanders finally command a healthy workload, but the tailback again found underwhelming yardage on the whole, and Sanders also saw quarterback Jalen Hurts score twice from inside six yards on the ground. With just one game with over 60 scrimmage yards and no touchdowns so far himself, Sanders' stock sits in a disappointing place ahead of a tough Week 6 matchup Thursday night versus the Buccaneers.

  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Big day in DC

Kamara carried the ball 16 times for 71 yards and a touchdown while catching five of eight targets for 51 yards and a second TD in Sunday's 33-22 win over Washington.

The running back topped 100 scrimmage yards for the third straight game and scored multiple TDs for the first time this season. Three of Kamara's four scores through five games have come through the air to go along with his 481 scrimmage yards as he heads into the Saints' Week 6 bye.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Bengals' Joe Mixon: Scores while limited

Mixon rushed 10 times for 33 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 25-22 overtime loss to the Packers. He also caught his lone target for two yards.

Mixon overcame an ankle injury to suit up Sunday, but he was unable to command his usual workload. While still in double-digits, his season low in touches coincided with backup Samaje Perine garnering a high of 15, from which he gained 83 yards and caught a four-yard touchdown. To his credit, though, Mixon still made a big impact by slashing his way to an eight-yard score in the fourth quarter, helping Cincinnati tie the game late. That contribution worked to salvage Mixon's performance, and the tailback will now hope his ankle heals further in advance of Week 6's matchup against the winless Lions.

  • D'Andre Swift RB | CHI

Lions' D'Andre Swift: Strong fantasy line in defeat

Swift (groin) rushed 11 times for 51 yards and a touchdown while catching all six of his targets for 53 yards in Sunday's 19-17 loss to Minnesota.

Jamaal Williams received two extra carries in this one, but it was Swift who provided the better returns for fantasy owners due to his touchdown and receiving production. It was the 22-year-old's second rushing touchdown and third total score through five games. While Swift's rushing totals have been disappointing (Sunday was his first game of over 50 rushing yards), he should be the preferred option in the backfield timeshare due to his heavy usage as a receiver (29 receptions for 252 yards). Swift and the Lions will face the Bengals next Sunday.

  • Chuba Hubbard RB | CAR

Panthers' Chuba Hubbard: Over 130 yards from scrimmage

Hubbard rushed 24 times for 101 yards and caught five of six targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 21-18 loss to the Eagles

Hubbard played very well in his second NFL start in place of the injured Christian McCaffrey (hamstring). The rookie fourth-rounder began with a 26-yard rush in the first quarter and kept his momentum going with a number of nice gains afterward, tying for the team lead in receptions as well. Overall, his play earned him nearly 30 touches on the day, mimicking McCaffrey's usual workload while backup Royce Freeman was restricted to just four touches. While it was great to see Hubbard take advantage of his opportunity Sunday, the seemingly likely return of McCaffrey in Week 6 versus the Vikings could suddenly return Hubbard to second-string duty. Given his production, though, Hubbard's presence could potentially help Carolina manage McCaffrey's exposure upon his return, making the team's backfield situation worth monitoring further going forward.

  • Lions' Jamaal Williams: Sees 15 touches in loss

Williams rushed 13 times for 57 yards and caught both of his targets for eight more yards in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Vikings.

Williams ended up leading the backfield in carries, but it was D'Andre Swift who scored and did more damage in the passing game (six receptions for 53 yards). The two backs should continue to split carries, providing low-end value so long as the timeshare stays alive. Williams and the Lions will take on the Bengals in Week 6.
