  • Nick Chubb RB | HOU

Browns' Nick Chubb: Limited in second straight practice

Chubb (ribs/chest) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Chubb's limited listing marks no change from Wednesday, though Cleveland held a more traditional practice Thursday as opposed to a walk-through session two days earlier. Though Cleveland is eliminated from playoff contention and thus doesn't have much at stake Week 18, Chubb still should get the green light to play so long as he isn't well below 100 percent. That being said, the Browns could look to be conservative with his workload, especially if Kareem Hunt (ankle) is available to return from a three-game absence to help pick up some of the slack out of the backfield.

  • Qadree Ollison RB | PIT

    Falcons' Qadree Ollison: Limited Thursday

Ollison (quadriceps) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice session.

Ollison didn't participate in practice Wednesday but he was back on the field in a limited capacity Thursday. While he's trending in the right direction, he'll likely have to log a full session Friday if he hopes to avoid the injury report for Sunday's game against the Saints.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Not playing in Week 18

Sanders (hand) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Cowboys.

Such an outcome was expected due to the broken hand that Sanders sustained Week 17 against the Giants. Coach Nick Sirianni has expressed hope that Sanders will be healthy enough to play in the wild-card round of the postseason, according to Mike Kaye of The Newark Star-Ledger. Having said that, with Sanders sidelined and Boston Scott (illness) and Jordan Howard (illness) still on the reserve/COVID-19 list, rookie fifth-round pick Kenneth Gainwell remains the only healthy running back on the Eagles' active roster.

  • Chiefs' Darrel Williams: In line for lead role Saturday

With Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) ruled out for Saturday's regular-season finale against the Broncos, Williams is in line to head Kansas City's backfield in the contest.

Meanwhile, look for Derrick Gore to work in a complementary role Saturday, with Jerick McKinnon on hand in reserve. With Edwards-Helaire also out Week 17, Williams carried 14 times for 88 yards and two touchdowns while catching all three of his targets for 19 yards in this past Sunday's loss to the Bengals. With another start on tap this weekend, Williams profiles as a viable option in Week 18 fantasy lineups.

  • Chiefs' Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Ruled out for Week 18

Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) has been ruled out for Saturday's regular-season finale against the Broncos.

Edwards-Helaire, who was inactive Week 17, was unable to practice this week, and he'll now focus on returning to Kansas City's lineup in time for the team's postseason opener. In his continued absence, Darrel Williams is slated to head the Chiefs backfield this weekend, with Derrick Gore working in a complementary role and Jerick McKinnon in reserve.

  • Chiefs' Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Not in line to play Week 18

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) won't practice Thursday and is unlikely to play Saturday against the Broncos, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.

After he was diagnosed with a bruised shoulder/collarbone following his early exit in the Chiefs' Week 16 win over the Steelers, Edwards-Helaire didn't practice in any fashion last week before being listed as questionable heading into the team's Week 17 game against the Bengals. He was ultimately inactive for the 34-31 loss, but the Chiefs had hope the second-year back might be available for the regular-season finale. Ultimately, Edwards-Helaire looks set to miss his second straight game after again failing to practice this week, paving the way for Darrel Williams to get another turn as the Chiefs' lead back. Later Thursday, Kansas City will release its final Week 18 injury report, which will reveal whether Edwards-Helaire is listed as questionable, doubtful or out heading into Saturday's game.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Giants' Saquon Barkley: Another limited practice

Barkley (ankle) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

With the Giants unable to get anything going in the passing game with Mike Glennon (wrist) under center this past Sunday at Chicago, they leaned heavily on their backfield, resulting in a season-high 21 carries for Barkley. Barkley thus has reached double-digit rushes in six consecutive games, averaging 18.2 touches for 71 yards from scrimmage while scoring one TD during that span. Assuming he's out there Sunday against Washington, Barkley can expect another hefty workload with second-year QB Jake Fromm directing the offense.

  • Football Team's Antonio Gibson: Stays limited Thursday

Gibson (hip) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.

Gibson tended to a hip injury during Week 17 prep before Washington placed him on the reserve/COVID-19 list last Friday, resulting in his first absence of the campaign this past Sunday against the Eagles. He made his way back to the active roster Wednesday, but his practice reps continued to be capped by the hip issue. Gibson has managed to play through the pain this season, and Friday's injury report could pave the way for him to suit up in Week 18. Even if it doesn't, though, he should have his customary questionable designation heading into the weekend.

  • Chase Edmonds RB | WAS

Cardinals' Chase Edmonds: Not at practice Thursday

Edmonds (rib/toe) wasn't present for Thursday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

With Edmonds set to go down as a non-participant on the Cardinals' first two Week 18 practice reports, he looks at risk of missing Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Seahawks. Meanwhile, James Conner (heel), who missed Arizona's previous two contests, suddenly appears to be the healthier of the two backs, as he managed limited participation at Wednesday's practice and was on the field again Thursday. If Conner is cleared to play this weekend and Edmonds isn't available, the former could find himself in a three-down role.

  • Ronald Jones RB | DAL

Buccaneers' Ronald Jones: Not seen at practice

Jones (ankle) wasn't present for Thursday's practice and is set to be listed as a non-participant on Tampa Bay's official report, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Considering head coach Bruce Arians noted Wednesday that Jones is sporting a walking boot on his injured ankle, the running back's absence from his second straight practice comes as little surprise. Barring a dramatic step forward at the Bucs' final Week 18 practice Friday, Jones won't be ready to go for Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Panthers. Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is ineligible until the playoffs and Giovani Bernard (calf) is also on injured reserve and isn't expected to be available this weekend, potentially leaving Tampa Bay with Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Le'Veon Bell as its top backfield options.
