  • D'Andre Swift RB | CHI

Lions' D'Andre Swift: Suffers apparent shoulder injury

Swift carried the ball seven times for 31 yards in Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Vikings. He added three receptions on four targets for 18 yards.

Swift entered the game nursing an ankle injury and reportedly received treatment on his left arm or shoulder after the game, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. That provides a likely explanation as to why Swift saw only 10 total touches as opposed to 22 for Jamal Williams. Now apparently dealing with multiple injuries, Swift's status will be worth monitoring throughout the week leading up to Detroit's Week 4 matchup against Seattle.

  • Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Workhorse role in Week 3 win

Taylor carried 21 times for 71 yards and brought in three of five targets for 20 yards in the Colts' 20-17 win over the Chiefs on Sunday.

Taylor was frequently stymied by a tough Chiefs front, with his longest run of the day going for a modest 13 yards. Taylor's involvement in the passing game was a nice bonus, however, and the star back now has 13 targets through three games. The 2020 second-round pick does have two straight sub-100-yard games, but he looks as explosive as last season and draws a very favorable statistical matchup against the Titans' suspect run defense in a Week 4 home divisional clash.

  • Dalvin Cook RB | DAL

Vikings' Dalvin Cook: Termed 'day-to-day' with shoulder

Coach Kevin O'Connell said Cook had "a little bit of a shoulder deal" that forced him out of Sunday's 28-24 win against the Lions, and the running back will be "day-to-day."

Cook sustained the injury on a lost fumble near the end of the third quarter Sunday, ending Week 3 action with 17 carries for 96 yards and one touchdown. O'Connell added afterward that Cook will undergo tests to determine the extent of the issue, but Cook also told his coach that he plans to be out there next Sunday against New Orleans in London. In any case, Cook's status will be one to watch this week to get a sense of his upcoming availability. Alexander Mattison (eight touches for 44 total yards and one TD on Sunday) is the next man up in the Vikings backfield.

  • Commanders' Antonio Gibson: Scores garbage-time touchdown

Gibson ran for 38 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries while also bringing in his sole target for two yards against Philadelphia on Sunday.

Washington once again neglected to utilize Gibson as a pass catcher, giving him just one target that resulted in a two-yard reception. After catching seven passes for 72 yards on eight targets in Week 1, Gibson has just three receptions for 15 yards on five targets since. Washington won the first game but lost the last two, so perhaps the Commanders might try to get Gibson going more as a pass catcher going forward. It's not clear when Brian Robinson might return to the Washington backfield, nor is it clear how Washington might split up the usage at that point.

  • Travis Homer RB | PIT

Seahawks' Travis Homer: Won't return against Falcons

Homer has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Falcons after suffering a rib injury, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Homer suffered the injury early in the game and managed only one rush for seven yards prior to exiting. It's possible that Rashaad Penny or Deejay Dallas steps into Homer's role as the primary receiver out of the backfield. Coach Pete Carroll said after the game that Homer's ribs are bruised but not broken, per John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site.

  • Michael Carter RB | TEN

Jets' Michael Carter: Another 12-touch game

Carter rushed 11 times for 39 yards and caught one of two targets for seven yards in Sunday's 27-12 loss to the Bengals.

Carter had five targets to Breece Hall's one last week, but Hall flipped the script with 11 targets this week, and the rookie second-round pick needed only eight carries to match Carter's rushing yardage total of 39. Both Jets running backs can play in all situations, which makes it tough to handicap how their touches will be distributed in Week 4 against the Steelers and beyond.

  • Khalil Herbert RB | NYJ

Bears' Khalil Herbert: Carries offense after Monty injury

Herbert rushed 20 times for 157 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Texans. He also caught both of his targets for 12 yards.

Herbert made an immediate impact after David Montgomery exited with a knee/ankle injury in the first quarter, racking up 30 yards on his next three attempts, including an 11-yard touchdown to cap the drive on which Montgomery was injured. The second-year running back continued to excel after halftime, ripping off a 52-yard run in the third quarter before powering in a one-yard touchdown four plays later. Herbert should be a priority waiver pickup where available ahead of a Week 4 road matchup with the Giants.

  • Breece Hall RB | NYJ

Jets' Breece Hall: Targeted 11 times in loss

Hall rushed eight times for 39 yards while catching six of 11 targets for 53 yards in Sunday's 27-12 loss to the Bengals.

The Jets had to settle for a field goal on their first drive after Hall dropped a third-down pass with nothing but green grass between him and the end zone. Hall has racked up 21 rushing attempts and 21 targets through three weeks while splitting playing time with Michael Carter, so the rookie second-round pick's playing a prominent role out of the gate, though Hall's been far from a workhorse. He'll face the Steelers in Week 4 in what's expected to be starting quarterback Zach Wilson's (knee) season debut.

  • Derrick Henry RB | BAL

Titans' Derrick Henry: Tallies 143 total yards

Henry rushed the ball 20 times for 85 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-22 win over the Raiders. He added five receptions on six targets for 58 yards.

Henry did the majority of his damage early, as he tallied 106 total yards prior to halftime and also plunged in for a one-yard touchdown early in the second quarter. Though he was bottled up in the second half, Henry's performance was encouraging as he topped 100 scrimmage yards for the first time this season. Perhaps most notable of all was Henry's involvement as a receiver, a skill he showcased early in the 2021 season prior to going down with a foot injury. After a slow start to the campaign, Henry appears to be back on track heading into a Week 4 showdown at the Colts.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Clear leader in backfield

Sanders ran for 46 yards on 15 carries and netted minus-2 yards on one reception against Washington on Sunday.

While it would have been nice if Sanders had been able to post bigger numbers, his fantasy investors can find encouragement in the fact that he was the clear lead runner for the Eagles. Jalen Hurts saw the second-most carries with nine and Kenneth Gainwell was third with just three. If Sanders can keep holding off Gainwell and Boston Scott then he should have more productive games in store. There's nothing obviously concerning about his Week 4 matchup against Jacksonville.
