Myles Gaskin RB | SEA
Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Involved in divisional loss
Gaskin had four carries for nine yards and caught three of five targets for 24 yards during Sunday's 40-17 loss to the Jets.
Gaskin saw opportunities behind Raheem Mostert after Chase Edmonds presumably was benched due to continued drops, effectively making him Miami's third-down back. It remains to be seen whether Edmonds will be back in the coaching staff's good graces for Week 6's matchup against the Vikings.

Rashaad Penny RB | CAR
Seahawks' Rashaad Penny: Will undergo surgery Tuesday
Penny will undergo season-ending surgery on his fractured fibula Tuesday and faces a four-month recovery, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Penny suffered the injury during the team's Week 5 loss to the Saints and will miss the remainder of the 2022 campaign. However, per Rapoport, an MRI on Monday revealed that his ankle was relatively clean, so he should make a full recovery. Penny, who signed a one-year deal to return to Seattle this offseason, will be a free agent in March and, barring his return to health, could be one of the more sought-after players during the 2023 offseason. In the meantime, Kenneth Walker, a rookie second-round pick, is expected to take over as Seattle's primary running back while DeeJay Dallas handles his usual third-down role.

Tyrion Davis-Price RB | GB
49ers' Tyrion Davis-Price: Could return to practice Wednesday
Davis-Price (ankle) was spotted taking part in a workout prior to Sunday's 37-15 win over the Panthers and could be ready to return to practice Week 6, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
The rookie third-round pick out of LSU hasn't suited up since Week 2 due to a high-ankle sprain, but the 49ers' decision not to move him to injured reserve always left open the possibility that he would miss fewer than four games on account of the injury. Davis-Price still looks like he has a chance to limit his absence to three games and play this coming Sunday in Atlanta, but he'll almost certainly have to return to full practice participation by Friday for that to become a reality. With Elijah Mitchell (knee) likely out until November, Jeff Wilson has a temporary stranglehold on the No. 1 role out of the backfield, but the slotting behind him on the depth chart remains unsettled. Tevin Coleman handled the No. 2 role behind Wilson against Carolina in Week 5 and scored two touchdowns, but he managed just 23 yards on eight carries (2.9 average).

Rachaad White RB | WAS
Buccaneers' Rachaad White: Generates 60 all-purpose yards
White rushed five times for 14 yards and brought in three of four targets for 28 yards in the Buccaneers' 21-15 win over the Falcons on Sunday. He also returned one kickoff for 18 yards.
White was incorporated into the offense to a solid degree, logging 31 snaps from scrimmage overall. The rookie third-round pick has particularly enjoyed a strong role in the passing game over the last pair of contests, posting an 8-78-0 line on nine targets in that span. White will remain behind Leonard Fournette for the time being, but he'll potentially have a chance for a similar workload in a Week 6 road matchup against a Steelers team the Buccaneers shouldn't have too much trouble eventually separating from.

Ty Chandler RB | NO
Vikings' Ty Chandler: May not go on IR
Chandler is expected to miss multiple weeks due to a broken thumb; however, no decision has been made about whether he will go on IR, according to head coach Kevin O'Connell, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Chandler suffered the injury in his second-career game Sunday against the Bears. The rookie will certainly miss multiple weeks; however, the team's hesitancy to put him on IR could mean it doesn't believe he'll necessarily have to miss at least four games.

Zander Horvath RB | MIA
Chargers' Zander Horvath: Gets back on stat sheet
Horvath carried twice for three yards and went without a target while playing nine snaps on offense in Sunday's 30-28 win over the Browns.
Horvath recorded his first touches since he recorded goal-line touchdown receptions in Weeks 1 and 2. The rookie fullback may continue to see the occasional red-zone or short-yardage carry or target, but projecting when it might happen will remain impossible to predict.

Kenneth Walker III RB | KC
Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Set for starting gig
Walker is primed to step into Seattle's primary running back role with Rashaad Penny (lower leg) done for the season, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Walker will get a chance to lead the Seahawks backfield with Penny set for season-ending surgery to address a broken fibula. The rookie second-round pick had eight carries for 88 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 39-32 loss to the Saints, highlighted by a 69-yard breakaway score, but he's still yet to log double-digit attempts in a single game. There's a good chance that changes Week 6 versus the Cardinals, as DeeJay Dallas currently is the only healthy running back on Seattle's roster, though Travis Homer (ribs) could return from IR later this month. The team will likely add more backfield depth in the coming days, but Walker projects to inherit a lead role in Penny's absence.

James Conner RB | ARI
Cardinals' James Conner: Seems to have avoided major injury
Arizona head coach Kliff Kingsbury said after Sunday's 20-17 loss to Philadelphia that Conner checked out OK after injuring his ribs in the first half of the contest, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. "We're checking everything out. It's something in the rib area, and they're just being very cautious with him right now," Kingsbury said of Conner.
Conner played 24 snaps and gained 55 yards on nine carries and eight yards on one reception before leaving the game late in the second quarter. Eno Benjamin stepped up behind him to draw 11 touches in the narrow loss, but the Cardinals appear to be tentatively planning as though Conner will be available for the team's Week 6 game in Seattle. The Cardinals likely will wait and see if Conner's upcoming tests reveal anything concerning before the team has a clearer idea about his status heading into next Sunday.

Rashaad Penny RB | CAR
Seahawks' Rashaad Penny: Out for year
Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Penny (lower leg) is done for the season due to a broken fibula and a high-ankle sprain, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Penny will require season-ending surgery, an outcome which Carroll correctly diagnosed as "a heartbreaking loss for him." The 2018 first-round pick had averaged an outstanding 6.1 yards per carry through the first five weeks of the season, building off his 6.3 YPC mark from 2021. That had Penny well on track to enter free agency in 2023 with plenty of leverage. Instead, he now will have to do so while rehabbing from a serious injury. In the immediate future, rookie second-round pick Kenneth Walker is primed to take over Seattle's lead back duties, with DeeJay Dallas stepping into the No. 2 role.

Jordan Mason RB | MIN
49ers' Jordan Mason: Usurped by veteran backup
Mason logged 15 snaps on special teams and did not receive a touch in Sunday's 37-15 win over the Panthers.
The 49ers signed an old friend, Tevin Coleman, to back up Jeff Wilson for the past two weeks, effectively pushing Mason further down the depth chart. It is still unclear what the team's plan for the undrafted rookie is, as they promoted him to the active roster over players with higher pedigree and more experience, only to give him one carry through five active games. Even with San Francisco's backfield decimated by injury, Mason remains a non-factor in his current role on special teams.
