  • James Conner RB | ARI

Cardinals' James Conner: Spectates for another practice

Conner (ribs) was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's practice report, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Conner hasn't logged any recorded or estimated practice activity since injuring his ribs in the first half of a Week 5 loss to the Eagles. The running back will have one more chance to get back on the practice field prior to Thursday's game against the Saints, but at this point, Conner looks to be trending toward missing a second straight contest. Eno Benjamin (foot) would be in line for another turn as Arizona's lead back.

  • Jason Huntley RB | IND

Jason Huntley: Back on Pittsburgh's practice squad

Pittsburgh re-signed Huntley to its practice squad Tuesday, Teresa Varley of Steelers.com reports.

Huntley began the 2022 campaign on the Steelers' practice squad but was cut last Wednesday. He's now returned to the organization, but barring an injury to Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren or Benny Snell, Huntley is unlikely to be elevated to the active roster.

  • Vikings' Alexander Mattison: Minimal role Week 6

Mattison (shoulder) logged three yards on his lone carry and played just six of the Vikings' 50 snaps on offense in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Dolphins.

Listed as questionable heading into Sunday, Mattison was cleared to play but handled a more limited role than usual while nursing a shoulder injury. The Vikings leaned more heavily on Dalvin Cook (88 percent snap share, 14 touches for 83 yards and a touchdown) as a result, while Mattison played his fewest snaps of the season. Assuming he escaped the contest without suffering a setback, the No. 2 back should see his opportunities pick up in the weeks to come. When he was healthier during the Vikings' first five games, Mattison took on snap shares between 23 and 46 percent.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Broncos' Melvin Gordon: Loses grip on role

Gordon had three rushes for eight yards in Monday's 19-16 loss to the Chargers.

Gordon started the game in his typical role as Denver's lead back, tallying three carries on the opening drive. However, he was benched from there, with Latavius Murray racking up 15 carries in his place. Gordon entered the game with a questionable tag due to a neck and rib injury, though he told media after the game that he was physically fine to play, per George Stoia III of The Denver Gazette. It's unclear why the swtich was made or if it will carry forward, but Gordon has fumbled four times -- two were lost -- on only 55 carries to begin the season.

  • Ronnie Rivers RB | LAR

Ronnie Rivers: Shifts back to practice squad

Rivers reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Rivers was called up on game day for the first time since joining the Rams' practice squad Sept. 15, as running back Cam Akers (personal) was ruled inactive ahead of Sunday's win over Carolina. While the undrafted rookie played just three of the team's 65 offensive snaps, he still recorded one carry for no gain to go along with one catch (on one target) for 14 yards. Rivers could stand to see another elevation from the practice squad if Akers remains out for Los Angeles' next game against San Francisco on Sunday, Oct. 30.

  • D'vonte Price RB | IND

D'Vonte Price: Reverts to practice squad

Price reverted to the Colts' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Price was activated to Indianapolis' active roster for the first time after joining the team's practice squad at the end of training camp. The undrafted rookie ultimately played just two special-teams snaps in Sunday's win over Jacksonville, as Deon Jackson (quad) and Phillip Lindsay handled the Colts' 15 rushing attempts. Price will now be eligible for two more elevations from the practice squad this season.

  • Austin Ekeler RB | WAS

Chargers' Austin Ekeler: Stands out as receiver

Ekeler carried the ball 14 times for 36 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 19-16 win over the Broncos. He added 10 receptions on 16 targets for 47 yards.

Ekeler continued to serve as the most significant part of the Chargers' offense, as he led the team in targets, receptions and carries. Despite the opportunities, he was largely held in check from an efficiency perspective as he posted only one gain of double-digit yards across his 24 touches. However, volume alone was enough for Ekeler to end up with a productive stat line, and his six-yard touchdown rush also helped. He now has at least one touchdown in three consecutive games, though this marked only the second time on the season that he topped 20 touches.

  • Broncos' Latavius Murray: Takes over backfield

Murray rushed the ball 15 times for 66 yards in Monday's 19-16 loss to the Chargers. He added one reception for -2 yards.

Murray was active for the first time since signing with the Broncos on Oct. 3 and immediately took over duties as the lead back. He accounted for 15 of the team's 19 carries by running backs, while Melvin Gordon saw only three rushing attempts. Murray wasn't overly effective and managed only one carry that went for over 10 yards. However, given Gordon's early-season struggles, Murray could remain the team's preferred rusher moving forward.

  • Malik Davis RB | DAL

Malik Davis: Heads back to practice squad

Davis reverted to the Cowboys' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Davis was promoted to Dallas' game-day roster for the first time this season, as third-string running back Rico Dowdle (ankle) was placed on IR ahead of Sunday's 26-17 loss to the Eagles. The undrafted rookie then played exclusively on special teams and failed to record a statistic during his NFL debut. Davis will now be eligible for two more elevations while on the Cowboys' practice squad this season.

  • Corey Clement RB | ARI

Corey Clement: Heads back to practice squad

Clement revered to the Cardinals' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Clement signed with Arizona's practice squad Tuesday and was activated for his first game with the team Sunday. However, the 27-year-old did not record a statistic and played all 15 of his snaps on special teams, as Eno Benjamin handled the bulk of the Cardinals' carries with running backs James Conner (ribs) and Darrel Williams (knee) sidelined. Clement could stand to see another elevation from the practice squad if these rushers remain out during Thursday's game against the Saints.
