  • 49ers' Christian McCaffrey: Does it all for three scores

McCaffrey rushed 18 times for 94 yards and a touchdown while adding eight receptions on nine targets for 55 yards and another score against the Rams on Sunday. He also completed his lone pass attempt for a 34-yard touchdown in a 31-14 win.

It certainly didn't take long for head coach Kyle Shanahan to fully integrate McCaffrey into the game plan after being forced to operate with a simplified playbook that limited him to 10 touches last week. The versatile star threw his second career passing touchdown on a halfback pass trick play that left Brandon Aiyuk uncovered for an easy score. After the dust settled, McCaffrey combined for nearly 200 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns. The 26-year-old was already having a strong season, but getting traded to a team with an offensive-minded head coach and an actual threat of a passing game should have fantasy managers elated moving forward. Those same managers will have to find a replacement for McCaffrey in Week 9 while the 49ers are on a bye. San Francisco will return to action against the Chargers on Nov. 13.

  • Khalil Herbert RB | NYJ

    Bears' Khalil Herbert: Leads backfield

Herbert carried the ball 16 times for 99 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 49-29 loss to the Cowboys.

Herbert didn't earn a carry until early in the second quarter, though he ended up with one more rushing attempt than David Montgomery. Herbert was also far more efficient with his opportunity, highlighted by a 36-yard gain and 12-yard touchdown run. He has seemingly forced the Bears into a backfield-by-committee approach, and his continued ability to hit for big plays should help him see continued work moving forward.

  • Bears' David Montgomery: Inefficient on ground

Montgomery rushed 15 times for 53 yards and caught three passes for 22 yards in the Bears' 49-29 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday.

Montgomery had one fewer carry than Khalil Herbert against Dallas. Since Week 2, Montgomery has not topped 15 carries in a game, and he's lost his grip on the undisputed lead backfield role in the last two games. He's posted between 62 and 80 scrimmage yards during those two games, so he's still demonstrating a solid scoring floor, but he'll need to hang onto at least a near-even split in work to retain his current level of productivity.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Efficient in limited touches

Sanders rushed the ball nine times for 78 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 35-13 win over the Steelers.

Sanders had a slow first half, managing only three carries for 10 yards, with A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts instead accounting for most of the production. However, he managed a few big plays in the final two quarters, including a 21-yard rush and an 11-yard touchdown run to clinch the win. Sanders failed to reach double-digit carries for the first time this season, though he made up for it with one of his most efficient performances. He's now topped 70 rushing yards in five of seven games on the campaign.

  • Najee Harris RB | LAC

Steelers' Najee Harris: Six receptions in blowout loss

Harris recorded eight rushes for 32 yards in Sunday's 35-13 loss to the Eagles. He added six receptions on six targets for 26 yards.

Harris failed to reach double-digit rushing attempts for the first time this season, primarily because the Steelers were trailing for nearly the entire game. Instead, Harris did see a season-high six targets -- he caught all of them -- and managed his highest receiving yardage total since Week 2. While Jaylen Warren carried the ball six times, a significant amount of that work came in garbage time, and Harris remains the clear lead back in Pittsburgh. Nevertheless, he has yet to reach 80 rushing or 100 total yards in a game this season.

  • Zack Moss RB | CIN

Bills' Zack Moss: Back in the mix Sunday

Moss is active for Sunday night's game against the Packers.

Moss was inactive for the Bills' Week 6 win over Kansas City, but he'll be in uniform versus Green Bay, along with fellow running backs Devin Singletary, James Cook and Taiwan Jones. In that context, Moss isn't a high-percentage fantasy lineup option given that he's logged limited touches in the last two contests he's suited up for.

  • Vikings' Alexander Mattison: Scores TD in win

Mattison rushed five times for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' 34-26 win over the Cardinals on Sunday.

The accomplished backup made excellent use of his scant opportunity, ripping off a 15-yard gain on one of his five carries and contributing a seven-yard touchdown run on another tote. Mattison's score was his second on the ground this season, and the five touches on the ground were a welcome sight after he'd logged a season-low one against the Dolphins back in Week 6 prior to the bye.

  • Eno Benjamin RB | NO

Cardinals' Eno Benjamin: Garners 45 total yards in loss

Benjamin rushed nine times for 22 yards and secured four of seven targets for 23 yards in the Cardinals' 34-26 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.

Benjamin found very tough sledding on the ground while once again helming the Cardinals backfield in the absence of James Conner (ribs). The modest rushing yardage total was particularly disappointing following his 92-yard tally against the Saints in Week 7, but Benjamin at least was able to provide solid production through the air. Benjamin could return to a backup role in a Week 9 home divisional clash against the Seahawks if Conner is able to return to action without limitations.

  • Tyler Allgeier RB | ARI

Falcons' Tyler Allgeier: Does damage in passing attack

Allgeier rushed 14 times for 39 yards while securing all three of his targets for 46 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 37-34 win over the Panthers.

Allgeier was inefficient on the ground and took a backseat to Caleb Huntley, who finished with 16 rushes for 91 yards -- both team highs. However, the rookie fifth-round pick salvaged his fantasy production by doing damage through the air. Allgeier's three receptions marked his first career game with multiple catches, and his 25-yard receiving touchdown was his second career score. Allgeier could see a reduced role when Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) returns from IR, which could be as soon as Week 9, but Allgeier figures to still be involved in Arthur Smith's run-first offense as long as he continues to churn out yards.

  • Lions' Jamaal Williams: Pair of rushing TDs in loss

Williams rushed 10 times for 53 yards and two touchdowns and secured all three targets for 23 yards in the Lions' 31-27 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.

Despite the return of D'Andre Swift from a three-game absence due to shoulder and ankle injuries, Williams still led the Lions' backfield in carries, doubling up his teammate in that category. It was also Williams who saw a pair of red-zone rushing opportunities he parlayed into touchdowns, with the versatile veteran going in from seven yards and one yard out in the first and second quarter, respectively. The fact he also had a solid role in the passing game made it a rewarding all-around afternoon for Williams despite a complementary role, and he'll look to make a big impact in a Week 9 home showdown against his former Packers squad.
