Josh Jacobs RB | GB
Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Agrees to new deal
Jacobs and the Raiders have agreed to terms on an upgraded one-year contract worth up to $12 million, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Per Pelissero, the base value of Jacobs' new deal is $11.8 million, up from from the $10.091 million franchise tag the running back hadn't yet signed. Given the timing of the agreement, Jacobs should have ample time to prepare for the Raiders' season opener against the Broncos, a game in which the 2019 first-rounder is in line to reprise his role as the team's lead back, with Zamir White, Ameer Abdullah and Brandon Bolden in reserve.

Camerun Peoples RB | CAR
Camerun Peoples: Cut by Carolina
Peoples was waived by the Panthers on Saturday, Darin Gantt of the team's official website reports.
With the Panthers attempting to trim their roster down to 53 players, Peoples was ultimately an odd-man out. No surprise here, as the running back was behind Miles Sanders (groin), Chuba Hubbard, Raheem Blackshear and Spencer Brown on the depth chart. Now, it remains to be seen if he will get a shot on Carolina's practice squad or have to look for a new opportunity elsewhere.

Nick Chubb RB | HOU
Browns' Nick Chubb: Not in line to play Saturday
Chubb isn't expected to see action in Saturday's preseason finale against the Chiefs, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
With top backup Jerome Ford dealing with a hamstring injury, it looks like the Browns plan to play it safe with Chubb on Saturday. As a result, Demetric Felton, John Kelly, Hassan Hall and Jordan Wilkins should have an opportunity versus Kansas City to support their cases for depth slotting in the team's backfield ahead of Week 1. Once the regular season starts Sept. 10 against the Bengals, Chubb will remain entrenched as Cleveland's top RB option, a context that should provide him with consistent weekly volume in terms of snaps and touches.

Tyrion Davis-Price RB | GB
49ers' Tyrion Davis-Price: Makes final case for roster spot
Davis-Price took 10 carries for 61 yards and caught two of three targets for 16 yards in Friday's 23-12 preseason loss to the Chargers.
Jordan Mason dominated playing time with the first-team offense even after losing a fumble at the goal line on the opening drive, ultimately recording 10 touches for 72 yards across his two series. The miscue was a big one, of course, and Davis-Price then dominated backfield work with the second-string offense. The Niners might keep both on their initial 53-man roster, but it's not a guarantee, so Davis-Price (or Mason) could end up on the practice squad or with another team instead.

Jordan Mason RB | MIN
49ers' Jordan Mason: Loses fumble in loss
Mason took nine carries for 59 yards and recorded one catch for 13 yards in Friday's 23-12 preseason loss to the Chargers, but he lost a fumble at the goal line on the opening drive.
With Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell held out, Mason dominated first-team snaps on a night that saw Brock Purdy, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle all playing. They faced the Chargers' second-team defense and would've scored 14 points in two drives if not for Mason losing a fumble at the goal line. Tyrion Davis-Price then dominated backfield work with the second-stringers en route to 12 touches for 76 yards, perhaps giving the Niners a tougher decision between him and Mason for the No. 3 RB job. Keeping both isn't out of the question.

Elijah Dotson RB | ATL
Chargers' Elijah Dotson: Makes case for roster spot
Dotson took six carries for 33 yards in Friday's 23-12 preseason win over San Francisco.
Dotson entered the game after Joshua Kelley and Isaiah Spiller but before the Chargers' other undrafted running backs. The Northern Colorado product again outplayed Spiller and finishes his first NFL preseason with 18 carries for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Dotson may have earned a spot on the Week 1 roster and will at least get a job on the practice squad if not.
-
Isaiah Spiller RB | LV
Chargers' Isaiah Spiller: Limited to 14 yards
Spiller took five carries for 14 yards in Friday's 23-12 preseason win over San Francisco.
Spiller was the second RB into the game, after Joshua Kelley ran for a 75-yard TD on the second drive. While he didn't do much in the preseason finale, Spiller did take 10 carries for 54 yards over the first two week of the exhibition schedule and seems more likely than not to survive upcoming roster cuts. The Chargers have three undrafted young players behind him vying for the No. 3 RB spot, including rookies Tyler Hoosman (12 carries for 43 yards Friday night) and Elijah Dotson (seven touches for 42 yards). It isn't out of the question that one of those guys gets the nod over Spiller, a 2022 fourth-round pick who barely played as a rookie.

Joshua Kelley RB | TEN
Chargers' Joshua Kelley: Scores 75-yard TD
Kelley took two carries for 78 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 23-12 preseason win over the 49ers.
Kelley started and played the first two drives, taking his second carry 75 yards for a touchdown. Isaiah Spiller and the team's trio of undrafted rookie RBs were all less impressive, making Kelley a comfortable favorite for the No. 2 role behind Austin Ekeler when the Chargers host the Dolphins in Week 1.

J.J. Taylor RB | HOU
Patriots' J.J. Taylor: Plays briefly
Taylor had one carry for three yards and one catch for 10 yards in Friday's 23-7 preseason loss to the Titans.
Taylor made a brief appearance in the first quarter, while second-year pros Kevin Harris and Pierre Strong both got extensive playing time. Chad Graff of The Athletic notes that Harris and Strong started the summer ahead of Taylor on the depth chart but may not have maintained that position. With Rhamondre Stevenson and Ezekiel Elliott both locks to make the 53-man roster, the Patriots probably have only one or two RB spots left and will now have to choose between Taylor, Harris, Strong and Ty Montgomery (leg).

Kevin Harris RB | JAC
Patriots' Kevin Harris: Starts, scores TD
Harris started Friday's preseason game against the Titans and took seven carries for 17 yards and a touchdown.
Pierre Strong made it back from concussion protocol but played deep into the fourth quarter, while top RBs Rhamondre Stevenson and Ezekiel Elliott were rested along with the rest of the starters. J.J. Taylor also got some snaps early in the game and finished with one carry for three yards and one catch for 10 yards. The Patriots likely will keep two RBs behind Stevenson and Elliott, with the candidates for depth roles being Harris, Strong, Taylor and Ty Montgomery (leg).
