  • Myles Gaskin RB | SEA

Vikings' Myles Gaskin: Up from practice squad

Minnesota signed Gaskin to its practice squad and elevated him to the active roster Saturday.

The 26-year-old back out of Washington was waived by both the Dolphins and Vikings this offseason before agreeing to join Minnesota's practice squad. Gaskin will join Ty Chandler in backing up Alexander Mattison ahead of Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.

  • Kenny McIntosh RB | SEA

Seahawks' Kenny McIntosh: Headed to IR

The Seahawks placed McIntosh (knee) on injured reserve Saturday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

McIntosh was officially ruled out Friday for the season opener against the Rams on Sunday. He has been dealing with a knee sprain since the beginning of training camp. The 2023 seventh-round pick out of Georgia will be forced to sit out the first four games of the season.

  • Falcons' Godwin Igwebuike: Signed to 53-man roster

The Falcons signed Igwebuike to their active roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's Week 1 matchup with the Panthers, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.

With Cordarrelle Patterson (thigh) questionable, Igwebuike has been promoted to provide depth behind Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier in the backfield. With the latter two expected to carry most of the offensive workload, Igwebuike's most likely path to contribute will presumably be through special teams.

  • Tony Jones RB | ARI

Saints' Tony Jones: Added to active roster

The Saints have elevated Jones to their active roster ahead of Sunday's season-opening tilt against the Titans, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Jones will provide depth at running back for New Orleans behind Jamaal Williams, Kendre Miller (hamstring) and Kirk Merritt. If Miller ends up sitting out, Jones could potentially see a few plays in the backfield. He will also be available to contribute on special teams if called upon.

  • Breece Hall RB | NYJ

Jets' Breece Hall: Listed as questionable, should play

Hall (knee) is listed as questionable for Monday's contest against the Bills, but the running back is expected to play, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Hall was a full participant in Saturday's practice and said afterward that he's excited to play Monday, but the Jets are still having him enter the Week 1 contest with an injury designation. The talented tailback is expected to share the backfield primarily with Dalvin Cook, although it's possible Michael Carter and Israel Abanikanda could enter the mix as well if the Jets want to present some different offensive looks.

  • Packers' Patrick Taylor: Elevated from practice squad

The Packers have elevated Taylor to their active roster ahead of Sunday's season-opening game in Chicago.

Taylor's elevation from the practice squad ahead of Week 1 action means that he will be an option to back up Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon and Emanuel Wilson at running back. While his most likely path to contribution will be via special teams, he could see a few plays in the backfield at any point.

  • Jake Funk RB | JAC

Colts' Jake Funk: Joins active roster

Funk was elevated from the Colts' practice squad Saturday, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.

With Zack Moss (arm) downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars, Funk will provide some depth for an already shaky running back group. The third-year pro saw action in six contests last season, but exclusively on special teams.

  • Deon Jackson RB | DET

Colts' Deon Jackson: Could have less competition

Jackson could see additional work if Zack Moss (forearm), who was downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game, is unable to play, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.

Holder suggests Jackson would be the team's listed starter in the event Moss was unable to play, but the prevailing expectation is that Evan Hull would also see opportunities and could even see work in passing situations despite Jackson's acumen (30 catches, 209 yards last year) in that area. The third-year back never saw more than 13 carries in a game despite nominal starter Jonathan Taylor missing extensive time at various points last season, so it remains to be seen how much work Jackson can get in Week 1.

  • Zack Moss RB | CIN

Colts' Zack Moss: Downgraded to doubtful

Moss (forearm) was downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The initial prognosis after it was announced Moss broke his forearm and would require surgery back in the beginning of August was that the veteran would be sidelined in the range of six weeks, so the downgrade shouldn't be viewed as a setback. It seems likely Moss will be ruled out ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, and should that occur it'll likely be a combination of Deon Jackson and rookie Evan Hull taking the majority of the work out of the backfield.

  • Breece Hall RB | NYJ

Jets' Breece Hall: Full participant in practice

Hall (knee) was a full participant in Saturday's practice and is expected to play in Monday's contest against the Bills, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.

Head coach Robert Saleh has often reiterated the Jets "have a plan" when it comes to workload balance of Hall, who is coming off a torn ACL midway through last season, and offseason acquisition Dalvin Cook. The prevailing assumption is the latter will receive more of the workload early on, especially as Hall works his way back into game shape, but Saturday's practice designation indicates both backs could, and probably will, see plenty of opportunities come Monday. The Jets have one of the deepest backfields in the league, with capable backups Michael Carter and Israel Abanikanda also likely to see a couple of snaps in a given contest.
