  • Isiah Pacheco RB | DET

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Active versus Chicago

Pacheco (hamstring) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Bears.

After missing Wednesday's practice, Pacheco logged limited sessions Thursday and Friday, and he'll give it a go Sunday. In the absence of any in-game setbacks, Pacheco should continue to pace the Chiefs' backfield in Week 3, with Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon available to handle complementary/change-of-pace work. Through the first two games of the season, Pacheco has recorded 20 carries for 93 yards and a TD and has caught five of his six targets for 31 yards. In that span, Edwards-Helaire and McKinnon have combined for eight carries and seven catches.

  • DeeJay Dallas RB | JAC

Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Will play Sunday

Dallas (illness) is active Sunday against the Panthers.

Dallas popped up on the injury report Friday but he feels well enough to take the field Sunday. The fourth-year pro hasn't been involved much on offense, but he should continue being the team's No. 1 return man.

  • Titans' Julius Chestnut: Will not return

Chestnut (hamstring) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Browns, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

Chestnut went to the locker with the help of trainers after suffering the injury and was unable to put any pressure on his left leg. His absence will leave the Titans with just Derrick Henry and Tyjae Spears at running back for the remainder of the game.

  • AJ Dillon RB | CAR

Packers' AJ Dillon: Likely to replace Jones again

Dillon is expected to serve as the Packers' lead back in Sunday's game against the Saints with Aaron Jones (hamstring) inactive for the second contest in a row, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

Jones closed Week 3 prep with two straight limited practices and was listed as questionable heading into Sunday, but he ultimately didn't make enough progress in his recovery from the hamstring injury he sustained in the season-opening win over the Bears to gain clearance to play. As a result, Dillon should be in line for another starting nod, with Emanuel Wilson and Patrick Taylor available as depth options behind him. In the Packers' Week 2 loss to Atlanta while Jones was sidelined, Dillon played 68 percent of the offensive snaps and carried 15 times for 55 yards to go with an eight-yard reception on his lone target.

  • Cam Akers RB | SEA

Vikings' Cam Akers: Not playing Week 3

Akers (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell suggested Friday that Akers wouldn't dress this weekend, so the running back's inactive status comes as no surprise. Minnesota wants to give Akers -- who was acquired from the Rams on Wednesday -- more time to get acclimated to his new organization, so he'll turn his sights toward making his NFL debut next Sunday at Carolina after getting in a full week of practice. Akers will likely be ticketed for a depth role initially, but he could emerge as the Vikings' lead back if Alexander Mattison's early season struggles continue.

  • Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Won't suit up in Week 3

Ogunbowale (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

Ogunbowale made his season debut with the Texans in Week 2 after Mike Boone was a healthy scratch. Those roles will be reversed in Week 3, with Boone likely to serve as the Texans' third back on the depth chart.

  • Lions' David Montgomery: Inactive for Week 3 matchup

Montgomery (thigh) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Falcons.

Montgomery's inactive status comes as little surprise after the right thigh injury kept him from practicing Wednesday through Friday before he took a doubtful designation into the weekend. With Montgomery now officially sitting out the Week 3 matchup, rookie Jahmyr Gibbs is expected to be in store for an expanded role out of the Detroit backfield. Craig Reynolds and Zonovan Knight will be the available depth options behind Gibbs.

  • Salvon Ahmed RB | CHI

    Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Inactive Sunday

Ahmed (groin) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Broncos.

With Ahmed (who approached the game listed as doubtful) inactive, rookie De'Von Achane will have a chance to handle increased change-of-pace duties in Week 3 behind lead back Raheem Mostert, with Chris Brooks in reserve. Ahmed will thus target a potential return to action next weekend against the Bills.

  • Falcons' Cordarrelle Patterson: Still out

Patterson (thigh) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Lions, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.

Patterson missed Week 1 due to a thigh injury, but he was considered a healthy scratch for Week 2. It's unclear if he suffered a setback, but the veteran wasn't able to do much at practice during Week 3 prep and will miss a third straight game to start the season. Even when Patterson is cleared to suit up, he's expected to garner a modest gadget role on offense, as Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier have solidified themselves as Atlanta's top running backs moving forward.

  • Aaron Jones RB | MIN

Packers' Aaron Jones: Sitting out again Sunday

Jones (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.

Despite being listed as questionable for Week 3 action, Jones will miss a second consecutive contest due to the left hamstring injury that he suffered in the season opener at Chicago. He'll thus set his sights on Thursday's NFC North showdown with the Lions, but in the meantime, AJ Dillon again will lead the Packers backfield Sunday, with Emanuel Wilson and Patrick Taylor mixing in behind Dillon.
