Head coach Kyle Shanahan said after Sunday's 19-17 loss at Cleveland that McCaffrey suffered oblique and rib injuries during the contest, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

After the 49ers deemed him questionable to return due to an oblique injury in the third quarter, McCaffrey got back on the field for one play that was canceled out by a penalty. He then went back to the sideline and then the locker room, from which the team ruled him out. Prior to his exit, he had racked up 52 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown catch on 14 touches. He'll have an extra day than normal to rest up before San Francisco's next game Week 7 in Minnesota on Monday night, but if McCaffrey needs to miss time, Jordan Mason (5-27-1 rushing line Sunday) and Elijah Mitchell (two carries for minus-3 yards) would be the main beneficiaries out of the backfield.

Montgomery was diagnosed with a rib injury during Sunday's game in Tampa Bay.

Montgomery was tackled from behind in the second quarter and needed medical attention on the field before going to the sideline and eventually the locker room. It's unclear if he'll be able to return, but if Montgomery doesn't, Craig Reynolds will be the Lions' primary runner for the rest of Week 6, with Devine Ozigbo the other healthy option due to Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) being inactive.

Montgomery departed Sunday's game at Tampa Bay due to an undisclosed injury, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Montgomery seemed to be favoring his left side after he was tackled hard from behind in the second quarter. After going to the sideline, he eventually walked with team trainers to the locker room. At the time of his exit, he had six carries for 14 yards and one catch (on one target) for 19 yards. As long as Montgomery is sidelined, Craig Reynolds likely will lead the Lions backfield with rookie Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) sidelined.

Robinson rushed 13 times for 37 yards and caught five of eight targets for 43 yards during Sunday's 24-16 loss to the Commanders.

Robinson and Tyler Allgeier each saw 13 rushing attempts, but the latter was slightly more efficient, totaling 51 yards. The rookie was still able to somewhat salvage his fantasy production by finishing second on the team in targets, receptions and receiving yards behind Drake London. Robinson's dual-threat ability has been on display to start the campaign, tallying 26 catches for 189 yards and two scores across six games, but fantasy managers had higher expectations when selecting the Texas product in the first round of drafts this summer. Robinson has boomed twice already and established himself as a high-floor option, but he's yet to see over 20 rushing attempts in a game this season. If that trend continues, it'll be difficult for Robinson to finish as a top-10 running back in fantasy this season.

Taylor rushed eight times for 19 yards and brought in five of six targets for 46 yards in the Colts' 37-20 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday.

Taylor was stymied throughout the day on the ground, with his longest run going for only five yards. However, a 40-yard reception helped salvage the star running back's fantasy line to an extent, and his final receiving yardage total served as his highest since Week 8 of the 2021 season. Taylor did see an uptick in touches from a Week 5 season debut in which he logged seven overall, and he notably recorded one more carry than backfield mate Zack Moss versus Jacksonville. Taylor's Week 7 matchup sees him draw a tough home matchup against the Browns.

Kamara accrued 19 carries for 68 yards and hauled in seven of eight targets for 36 yards during Sunday's 20-13 defeat to the Texans.

Kamara accounted for all but six of New Orleans' 25 total rushing attempts, and he's now averaged 17 carries through his first three games this season. He also factored prominently into the passing game for the second time in three weeks, tying with wideout Chris Olave and do-it-all tight end Taysom Hill for a team high in receptions. Kamara's workload has likely benefited due to the absence of No. 2 running back Jamaal Williams (hamstring), but the former's production was still limited by the fact the Saints crossed the Texans' 20-yard line just twice in this loss. The 28-year-old has now averaged 3.6 yards per carry in each of the past two games, and this lack of explosiveness could limit his opportunities for touchdowns -- especially if Williams returns from IR in time for Thursday's matchup versus Jacksonville.

Etienne rushed 18 times for 55 yards and two touchdowns and brought in all three targets for 28 yards in the Jaguars' 37-20 win over the Colts on Sunday.

The Colts' run defense did a very good job overall limiting Etienne's efficiency, but the third-year back salvaged his fantasy day with two- and 22-yard touchdown scoring runs in the second quarter, the latter coming on a direct snap on the first play immediately following Gardner Minshew's fumble. Etienne crossed the goal line just once in the first four games of the season, but he's now recorded four touchdowns in the last pair of contests heading into a Week 7 road matchup against the Saints on Thursday night.

Mitchell (knee) rushed twice for minus-3 yards and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Browns.

Mitchell played a minimal role in his return from a two-game absence. Lead back Christian McCaffrey (oblique) exited in the second half, but Jordan Mason (five carries for 27 yards and a touchdown) took over as San Francisco's top backfield option over Mitchell. If McCaffrey's unable to return for a MNF road game against the Vikings in Week 7, Mitchell could take on a larger role, though he seems to have fallen behind Mason on the depth chart.

Mason took over as San Francisco's lead back after Christian McCaffrey (oblique/rib) exited in the second half. The 24-year-old running back out of Georgia Tech gave the 49ers a 17-13 lead with an eight-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, but Cleveland responded with a pair of field goals to hand the 49ers their first loss of the season. Elijah Mitchell (knee) returned from a two-game absence but had just minus-3 yards on two carries. If McCaffrey is unable to suit up against the Vikings in Week 7, Mason would likely lead San Francisco's backfield over Mitchell.

Singletary rushed 12 times for 58 yards and caught one of two targets for four yards in Sunday's 20-13 win over the Saints.

Singletary didn't have a rushing attempt in Week 5 and came in with just 95 rushing yards on 27 carries in 2023, but he set season highs in both rushing attempts and yards while Dameon Pierce plodded for 34 yards on 13 carries. Pierce is averaging just 2.9 YPC to Singletary's 3.9 on the season, so while neither running back has found much success, Pierce's struggles have opened the door for Singletary to take on a larger role. After a Week 7 bye, Houston's Week 8 matchup with Carolina's leaky run defense will present an opportunity for both running backs to raise those subpar YPC averages.
