Brandon Allen QB | NYG
Brandon Allen: Released by Cincy
The Bengals released Allen on Wednesday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Allen made the initial 53-man roster as the backup to Joe Burrow, but he's been let go to make room for a trio of waiver claims. Dehner suggests that Allen could return to the team after the next round of IR moves are made.

Logan Woodside QB | ARI
Logan Woodside: Back with Tennessee
The Titans signed Woodside to their practice squad Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
As expected, Woodside lost the backup QB competition to rookie Malik Willis, but he'll rejoin the team as an emergency option on the practice squad. The 2018 seventh-round pick has thrown only one pass across 11 regular season appearances.

Kellen Mond QB | NO
Browns' Kellen Mond: Claimed by Cleveland
The Browns claimed Mond off waivers from the Vikings on Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Mond was drafted by the Vikings in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft but failed to impress during his short time with the organization and was waived ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline. However, he quickly found a new home with the Browns, who've dealt with a well-documented QB controversy over the last year. Currently, it appears like Mond will compete with Joshua Dobbs for the backup spot behind Jacoby Brissett, who'll operate as the starter while Deshaun Watson is suspended.

Trace McSorley QB | WAS
Trace McSorley: Inks practice squad deal
The Cardinals signed McSorley to their practice squad Wednesday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
As expected, McSorley returns to the organization after clearing waivers. The Penn State product will operate as an emergency depth option behind Kyler Murray and Colt McCoy.

David Blough QB | DET
David Blough: Officially let go
Blough was waived by the Lions on Wednesday.
As expected, Blough was let go after Nate Sudfeld passed his physical and signed with Detroit. Blough failed to impress this preseason and will now look for another opportunity elsewhere, likely starting the season on a team's practice squad.

Nate Sudfeld QB | SF
Lions' Nate Sudfeld: Signs with Detroit
Sudfeld was signed by the Lions on Wednesday.
Sudfeld was cut by the 49ers on Tuesday, but he quickly found a new home with Detroit just one day later. The quarterback will operate as Jared Goff's only backup heading into the start of the regular season. David Blough was waived to create an open roster spot Wednesday.

Nate Sudfeld QB | SF
Nate Sudfeld: Visiting with Lions
The Lions are expected to sign Sudfeld if he passes a physical Wednesday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
The Lions have already cut the first of their two underwhelming backup QBs from this summer, Tim Boyle. David Blough would seem to be on the chopping block as well if Sudfeld indeed signs with the team.

David Blough QB | DET
Lions' David Blough: Set to be cut
The Lions are expected to waive Blough if Nate Sudfeld passes his physical in Detroit on Wednesday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
It initially seemed like Blough had beaten out Tim Boyle for the backup job behind Jared Goff, but it seems that Detroit wants to go in a completely different direction after both of them put together underwhelming preseason performances. However, unless another team saw enough promise in the 27-year-old to put in a waiver claim, Blough would seem like a strong candidate to land on the practice squad.

Chase Garbers QB | LV
Chase Garbers: Dismissed by Las Vegas
Garbers was waived by the Raiders on Tuesday.
Garbers joined Las Vegas in May as an undrafted free agent out of California, though he was ultimately unable to secure a roster spot behind Derek Carr and Jarrett Stidham this preseason. The 23-year-old signal-caller will now pass through waivers before likely landing a practice-squad contract.
