Michael Penix Jr. QB | ATL
Falcons' Michael Penix: Surgery goes well
Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said that Penix (knee) underwent full reconstructive surgery to address the partially torn ACL in his left knee on Tuesday and experienced no complications with the procedure, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Penix faces a nine-month recovery timetable as a result of the procedure. The 25-year-old quarterback has now undergone ACL reconstructive surgeries three times in his career, as he previously had procedures on his right knee in 2018 and 2020 while in college. He also suffered season-ending injuries to each shoulder in 2019 and 2021. Morris has said that the severe nature of Penix's injury will "100 percent" influence Atlanta to "make some different plans" at quarterback this offseason, per Adam Schefter of ESPN, though that could just as easily refer to the team prioritizing a reliable backup rather than bringing in actual competition for the starting role. Kirk Cousins will start the remainder of the season under center for the Falcons, but this offseason the team can exercise a potential 'out' for the final two season of his four-year, $180 million contract at the cost of a $35 million dead-cap hit. Atlanta doesn't currently hold any first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, which will limit the team's ability to maneuver in pursuit of a high-upside alternative at quarterback.

Daniel Jones QB | IND
Colts' Daniel Jones: Will be deemed limited in walk-through
Coach Shane Steichen said that Jones (fibula) will be listed as limited on Wednesday's practice estimate, but added that the QB will "be good to go this week," James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Jones popped up on the Colts' Week 12 injury report when he was limited last Thursday before working fully Friday and suiting up for the team's 23-20 overtime loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. While he continues to manage a fibula injury, Jones remains on track to be available this weekend against the Texans, a notion that would be supported by the QB being listed as a full practice participant by Friday.

Baker Mayfield QB | TB
Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield: Chance to play Week 13
Mayfield (shoulder) is dealing with a low-grade AC joint sprain and has a chance to be available Sunday versus the Cardinals, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Mayfield's availability for Week 13, or lack thereof, will largely come down to pain management, per Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, so it will be encouraging if he's able to show up as at least a limited participant on Wednesday's practice report. Per Stroud, Mayfield is participating in the early portion of Wednesday's walkthrough. Overall, though, it's a relief for the Buccaneers' offense that Mayfield's MRI on Monday didn't reveal worse than a low grade sprain. Teddy Bridgewater remains on hand to start versus Arizona in the event that Mayfield isn't cleared to play.

Joe Flacco QB | CIN
Bengals' Joe Flacco: Full participant Tuesday
Flacco (shoulder/finger) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice.
Flacco was considered limited on Monday's estimated injury report while managing a pair of injuries, but he's now on track to be available for Thursday's matchup with the Ravens. With Joe Burrow (toe) expected to return from injured reserve following a nine-game absence, Flacco will be in line for No. 2 quarterback duties against Baltimore.
-
Joe Burrow QB | CIN
Bengals' Joe Burrow: Full participant at practice
Burrow (toe) was a full participant at practice Tuesday.
Burrow has now been listed as a full participant on four of the Bengals' last five practice reports. The quarterback remains on injured reserve for the time being, but assuming his surgically repaired toe holds up well coming out of Tuesday's session, the Bengals could confirm Wednesday that he'll return to action Thursday against the Ravens. Burrow has sat out Cincinnati's last nine games following surgery.

Lamar Jackson QB | BAL
Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Full practice Tuesday
Jackson (toe) was a full participant at practice Tuesday.
Jackson was deemed a non-participant in the team's walkthrough Monday due to a toe issue, which he revealed that he sustained in the first quarter of Sunday's 23-10 win over the Jets, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. He clarified Tuesday that his toe is feeling good heading into Thursday's game against the Bengals, with head coach John Harbaugh echoing the quarterback's assessment. Though Jackson isn't expected to face any limitations while taking aim at a vulnerable Cincinnati defense, the two-time league MVP hasn't resembled his dominant self of late. Despite leading the Ravens to wins in his last three starts, Jackson has accounted for just 57 rushing yards while completing 44 of 77 pass attempts (57.1 percent) for 522 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during that stretch.

Sean Clifford QB | CIN
Sean Clifford: Back with Bengals on practice squad
The Bengals signed Clifford to the practice squad Tuesday, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Clifford was waived by the Bengals on Monday in anticipation that Joe Burrow (toe) would be activated from injured reserve ahead of Thursday's game against the Ravens. Clifford has opted to stick around in Cincinnati on the practice squad, and he would be a candidate to be elevated to the active roster if Burrow, Joe Flacco (shoulder/finger) or Jake Browning were to miss time.

Lamar Jackson QB | BAL
Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Present at practice Tuesday
Jackson (toe) returned to practice Tuesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson was estimated as a DNP on Monday's practice report, but he doesn't appear to be in serious danger of missing Thursday night's game against the Bengals. The QB is looking to bust a three-game slump -- he's averaged 174 passing yards per game with a 1:2 TD:INT mark over the last three weeks -- in a juicy matchup against Cincinnati's league-worst defense.

Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Steelers' Aaron Rodgers: Limited to start Week 13 prep
Head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Rodgers (wrist) will be a limited practice participant in the early portion of the week, but the Steelers have "great optimism" that the quarterback will be available Sunday versus the Bills, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. "I'm comfortable with his general trajectory," Tomlin added.
Per Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com, Tomlin said that Rodgers "fought his tail off" to play in the Steelers' eventual 31-28 loss to Chicago in Week 12, but the team decided it was a "prudent" decision to hold him out and have Mason Rudolph make the start. While Rodgers looks like he'll remain a limited practice participant when the Steelers return to the field Wednesday, the expectation is that he's on a path to playing against Buffalo. If Rodgers ends up suiting up Sunday, he'll likely need to wear a protective brace on his non-throwing wrist.

C.J. Stroud QB | HOU
Texans' C.J. Stroud: Return could boost offense
The eventual return of Stroud (concussion) could aid a Houston offense that struggled in the second half of last Thursday's 23-19 win over Buffalo, Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle reports. "We still gotta do a better job of moving the ball in the second half," Houston head coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday. "I don't think our second-half offense was good enough."
The Texans had a strong first half against the Bills with 20 points, but the offense was limited to just 60 net yards after the break. Four of the team's five second-half possessions ended in a punt, including three three-and-outs. The one scoring drive was a squandered opportunity that began at Buffalo's 22-yard line and ended with a field goal. A healthy Stroud could be the elixir to solve the execution woes. His accuracy and arm talent are considered better than those of fill-in starting quarterback Davis Mills, which means defenses would be forced to respect the passing game. Ryans said Monday that Stroud remains in concussion protocol, but the Texans have optimism about his chances of playing Sunday in Indianapolis after he returned to practice last week.
