Tommy DeVito QB | NE
Giants' Tommy DeVito: Set to be backup Sunday
The Giants elevated DeVito from the practice squad Saturday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
The move comes with Daniel Jones (neck) ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Bills while Tyrod Taylor gets the start against his old team. DeVito signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent April 30 after throwing for 2,650 yards, 15 touchdowns and four interceptions with a 69.6 percent completion rate in his final season at Illinois. He joined the team's practice squad Aug. 30 after being let go ahead of the 53-man roster deadline.

Malik Cunningham QB | DET
Patriots' Malik Cunningham: Signs with active roster
Cunningham was signed to the Patriots' active roster Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Jeff Howe of The Athletic suggested the Patriots could end up moving Cunningham to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game in an effort to provide a bit of a versalite spark to an offense that has been desperately in need of playmaking to start the season. While Cunningham's positional designation is quarterback, it's possible the rookie could see snaps at wide receiver and on special teams as New England tries to correct a litany of offensive issues.

Nathan Peterman QB | ATL
Bears' Nathan Peterman: Added to 53-man roster
Peterman was added to the Bears' 53-man roster Friday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Peterman was re-signed to the Bears' practice squad earlier in the week. Chicago will opt to go with three quarterbacks on its active roster for Sunday's matchup with the Vikings. Thus, Peterman is set to back up Justin Fields and Tyson Bagent under center.

Drew Lock QB | SEA
Seahawks' Drew Lock: Questionable to face Bengals
Lock (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's Week 6 game against the Bengals, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Lock was a mid-week addition to the injury report, failing to practice Thursday. If Lock is unable to suit up as Geno Smith's backup Sunday, Holton Ahlers will likely be elevated from the practice squad.

Deshaun Watson QB | CLE
Browns' Deshaun Watson: Could miss time beyond Week 6
Watson, who won't play Sunday against the 49ers, could miss additional time beyond Week 6 due to his right rotator cuff contusion, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
With Watson ruled out this week, PJ Walker is slated to start at quarterback, with Cabot suggesting that Watson is no lock to return to action Oct. 22 against the Colts. Per the report, Watson's injury is described as a deep contusion, and he's not expected to see game action again until he is able to throw normally and without pain. When Watson will be ready to throw pain-free remains to be determined, but for now, rest and rehab are in order with an eye toward avoiding a lingering issue.

Tyrod Taylor QB | GB
Giants' Tyrod Taylor: Getting first start of season
Taylor will start Sunday's game against the Bills in place of Daniel Jones (neck), Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Jones didn't practice this week and was ruled out Friday, suggesting he could be in danger of additional absences beyond Sunday night. Taylor has completed 11 of 15 passes for 92 yards in mop-up duty this year, after attempting eight passes last season in his first year with the Giants. The 34-year-old last made starts for Houston in 2021, putting up a 2-4 record and 19-151-3 rushing line while completing 91 of 150 passes (60.7 percent) for 966 yards (6.4 YPA), five TDs and five interceptions. He's probably lost another step since then, and he'll line up Sunday night behind an offensive line that's missing at least two starters and a swing tackle (and possibly more than that).

P.J. Walker QB | SEA
Browns' PJ Walker: Starting against 49ers
Walker is slated to start at quarterback for the Browns on Sunday versus the 49ers, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer and Jake Trotter of ESPN report.
Walker will draw the assignment, with Deshaun Watson in line to miss a second consecutive game with a right shoulder injury. When Watson was sidelined Oct. 1 against the Ravens, Dorian Thompson-Robinson got the start. This time around, Walker gets the nod, which makes him a Week 6 lineup option for those who roster Watson or are scrambling for help in QB-heavy leagues or looking for a bye-week plug in.

Deshaun Watson QB | CLE
Browns' Deshaun Watson: Won't play Sunday
Watson (right shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
As a result, PJ Walker is slated to start at QB for the Browns on Sunday, with Dorian Thompson-Robinson in line to serve as the team's No. 2 QB. Watson will now target a potential return to action Oct. 22 versus the Colts. Per Jake Trotter of ESPN.com, head coach Kevin Stefanski described Watson as day-to-day but wouldn't commit to Watson returning to practice when the Browns begin preparing to face Indianapolis.

Daniel Jones QB | IND
Giants' Daniel Jones: Ruled out for Sunday
Jones (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Buffalo, Matt Citak of the Giants' official site reports.
Jones left last week's loss to the Dolphins in the fourth quarter and then didn't practice at all this week. Tyrod Taylor will start against his former team Sunday night, taking snaps behind a banged-up offensive line that had six players listed on the injury report this week. Left tackle Andrew Thomas (hamstring) and starting center John Michael Schmitz (shoulder) have already been ruled out for Sunday, as has swing tackle Matt Peart (shoulder).

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Broncos' Russell Wilson: Worrisome numbers in Week 6 loss
Wilson completed 13 of 22 passes for 95 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions while also rushing four times for 31 yards in the Broncos' 19-8 loss to the Chiefs on Thursday night.
Wilson's final passing line, which included two interceptions in Chiefs territory, essentially sums up his night, and Thursday marked the first time in his career he threw for under 100 yards with multiple interceptions. After also having passed for just 196 yards in the Broncos' Week 5 loss to the Jets, there could well be rumblings about swapping Wilson out for Jarrett Stidham, especially with a few extra days of prep time ahead of a Week 7 home matchup against the Packers on Sunday, Oct. 22.
