Thad Lewis QB | BAL
49ers' Thaddeus Lewis: Torn ACL
Lewis suffered a torn ACL during Sunday's preseason opener and will now miss the remainder of this season, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Lewis was forced out during the third quarter of Sunday's game, when he was the second signal-caller used in wake of Colin Kaepernick (shoulder) being sidelined. However, now that his season has already come to a close, rookie Jeff Driskel should see more reps behind Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert.

Bruce Gradkowski QB | PIT
Steelers' Bruce Gradkowski: Tears hamstring
Gradkowski suffered a torn hamstring during the Steelers' opening preseason game last Friday, ESPN.com reports.
Gradkowski missed all of last season due to shoulder and hand injuries, so his hamstring problem only adds to his health issues. With Landry Jones cemented as the Steelers' No. 2 quarterback, Pittsburgh is fine behind Ben Roethlisberger, but Gradkowski's injury may open up their third-string job.

Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Status unclear for Thursday
Rodgers' status for Thursday's preseason game against the Raiders remains unclear, ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports.
Rodgers sat out the Packers' preseason game Friday, and as of now, it's uncertain whether coach Mike McCarthy will have him play in this week's subsequent exhibition. McCarthy indicated Monday that Rodgers' status will be influenced by which offensive linemen ultimately play, thus ensuring any risk is as minimal as possible. Rodgers obviously doesn't need many preseason snaps to be prepared for Week 1, so it's really just a matter of when those snaps will come in Green Bay's remaining preseason slate.

Tom Savage QB | DET
Texans' Tom Savage: Second quarterback in preseason opener
Savage was the second quarterback to play in Sunday's preseason opening win over the 49ers. He completed 14-of-24 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns.
All the caveats about playing against second- and third-teamers apply, but it was a positive showing for the third-year quarterback, who missed all of 2015 with a shoulder injury. He's competing for the backup job with Brandon Weeden, who mopped up the final five minutes of the game.
-
Blaine Gabbert QB | KC
49ers' Blaine Gabbert: Uneven in preseason start
Gabbert completed four of 10 passes for 63 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's preseason game against the Texans.
Gabbert produced seven points on three drives, connecting with Vance McDonald for a 43-yard, catch-and-run touchdown on his final snap of the evening. The San Francisco passing game otherwise struggled, and Carlos Hyde lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown. Recent reports suggest the starting job is Gabbert's to lose, but Colin Kaepernick (sore shoulder) still has to make his case, despite sitting out Sunday's game. The two are listed as co-starters on the depth chart.

Stephen Morris QB | SEA
Colts' Stephen Morris: Throws TD in preseason opener
Morris played the second half of Saturday's preseason win over Buffalo and was 5-of-9 passing for 104 yards with a touchdown.
Morris is batting Scott Tolzien for the backup quarterback job, but he's a long shot to overtake him for the role. It's not clear if he'll make the roster, as the Colts may not keep three quarterbacks.

Case Keenum QB | CHI
Rams' Case Keenum: Sharp in limited action Saturday
Keenum completed six of seven passes for 58 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Saturday's 28-24 preseason victory over the Cowboys. He gained three yards on his sole rush.
The Rams' likely Week 1 starter played the first three possessions and garnered most of his numbers on the second one, which culminated in a 14-yard rushing touchdown by tailback Benny Cunningham. Keenum was sharp on that drive in particular, connecting with Lance Kendricks, Brian Quick, Cunningham and Kenny Britt on the way down the field. It was a solid start for Keenum, who is expected to take the reins of the offense to start the season while No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff waits his turn on the sideline.

Dak Prescott QB | DAL
Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Highly impressive in pro debut
Prescott completed 10 of 12 passes for 139 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 28-24 preseason loss to the Rams. He also gained 13 yards on two rushes.
The 2016 fourth-round pick was razor-sharp while getting the starting nod in his first taste of NFL action. Prescott leveraged the advantage of making his debut with the majority of the Cowboys' first-string offense, looking good from the outset and connecting with Dez Bryant twice on the opening drive, one for a leaping and contested touchdown by the left pylon. Prescott then came back on his second possession to lay a perfect pass over the shoulder of Terrance Williams down the left sideline for a second touchdown, putting a fitting cap on his stellar performance. While all of the typical caveats regarding preseason performances certainly apply, the Mississippi State product undeniably provided encouraging returns in his first time out.
-
Marcus Mariota QB | WAS
Titans' Marcus Mariota: Accurate in preseason opener
Mariota completed all five of his passes for 45 yards in Saturday's preseason opener against the Chargers.
Mariota is the unquestioned starter in Tennessee, and the 2015 second overall pick will be looking to improve on an up-and-down rookie season in which he posted 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. An upgraded rushing attack is likely to benefit the former Oregon star after teams were able to key on the pass in 2015, but he lacks reliable receiving options outside of tight end Delanie Walker.
-
Tyrod Taylor QB | GB
Bills' Tyrod Taylor: Throws three passes in preseason opener
Taylor completed just 2 of 3 passes for seven yards in Saturday's preseason opener against the Colts.
Nothing to see here, as the Bills were cautious with their clear-cut starter. The dual-threat quarterback is an intriguing fantasy option given his combination of security and rushing ability. Taylor didn't scramble in this one, but is more than capable of doing so after rushing for 568 yards in 2015. EJ Manuel and Cardale Jones split the remainder of reps after his exit.
