Jared Goff QB | DET
Rams' Jared Goff: Leaves game early non-throwing shoulder injury
Goff experienced soreness in his non-throwing shoulder during Saturday's game and did not complete one of the series he was planning to play, Jack Wang of the Los Angeles Daily News reports. "It's fine," Goff said after the game. "I've played through much worse. Little precautionary thing."
Goff reportedly felt stiffness in the shoulder at halftime after taking a hit, and it was decided to err on the side of caution with the Rams' promising rookie. There are no real concerns of Goff missing any time, and the No. 1 overall draft pick should be back at practice this week.

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Throws red zone interception in preseason opener
Wilson completed three of six passes for 34 yards and an interception in his only drive of Saturday's preseason opener against the Chiefs.
The elusive quarterback didn't have a rushing attempt as the Seahawks played it safe with their starter. While a red-zone interception is never good, it's unlikely to be a common occurrence once the games start counting since Wilson threw just eight last year along with 34 touchdowns and 4,024 yards.

Cardale Jones QB | LAC
Bills' Cardale Jones: Decent debut
Jones, who entered Saturday's preseason game with 9:11 left in the third quarter, completed 11 of 21 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown.
The touchdown almost won it, but the Bills couldn't complete a two-point conversion and lost by a point. Coach Rex Ryan liked Jones' poise, an area Jones struggled with when he entered spring practices. He'll begin the year as the No. 3 quarterback, but a 93.8 rating in his first pro appearance shows that maybe the Bills weren't too crazy for betting on his long-term upside, given his size and athletic ability.

Dustin Vaughan QB | BAL
Steelers' Dustin Vaughan: Struggles in preseason opener
Vaughan completed six of 11 passes for 50 yards in Friday's preseason loss to Detroit.
Vaughan hardly looked impressive, taking three sacks and fumbing once. He is competing for a backup quarterback role with Landry Jones and Bruce Gradkowski, the latter suffering a hamstring injury after attempting just three passes.

Matthew Stafford QB | LAR
Lions' Matthew Stafford: Totals 58 yards passing during brief appearance Friday
Stafford completed four of six passes for 58 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Friday's 30-17 preseason victory over the Steelers. He also gained five yards on his one rush and lost a fumble.
Stafford was relatively effective during his brief time in the game, converting three third downs, including a 30-yard pass to the newly acquired Anquan Boldin. However, he was subsequently sacked and stripped of the ball by James Harrison on the same drive, giving possession to the Steelers. The Pro Bowl quarterback figures to see more extended action next Thursday versus the Bengals.

Ryan Nassib QB | JAC
Giants' Ryan Nassib: Provides mixed performance in Friday loss
Nassib completed 7 of 15 passes for 75 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in Friday's 27-10 preseason loss to the Dolphins. He also gained 12 yards on three carries and lost a fumble.
With Eli Manning getting the night off, Nassib received extended action and provided a mixed bag of a performance. Nassib got off to a positive start, leading the Giants on a game-opening touchdown drive but subsequently turning the ball over on three consecutive second-quarter possessions. The third-year signal-caller sandwiched interceptions to Bobby McCain and A.J. Hendy around a fumble on a scramble that was returned by Spencer Paysinger to the Dolphins' five-yard line, setting up a Damien Williams touchdown. The 26-year-old is expected to continue to see extended action throughout the preseason.
-
Matt Barkley QB | JAC
Cardinals' Matt Barkley: Inefficient Friday versus Raiders
Barkley completed just eight of his 24 attempts for 121 yards and an interception in Friday's preseason loss to the Raiders.
Barkley was extremely inefficient Friday, and he threw a crucial interception in the red zone on the Cardinals' opening drive of the second half. Barkley is seemingly behind the more experienced Drew Stanton on the depth chart at the moment, and the results of his first fore into preseason action were not all that encouraging of his chances of overtaking the latter in the pecking order.
-
Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN
Dolphins' Ryan Tannehill: Looks solid in two series Friday
Tannehill completed 2 of 4 passes for 8 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Friday's 27-10 preseason victory over the Giants.
The 28-year-old connected on his first two passes to Jarvis Landry and Kenny Stills, respectively. Tannehill then misfired on back-to-back throws to Jay Ajayi on the Dolphins' second possession before his exit from the game. It was reasonably positive debut for the fifth-year signal-caller in new head coach Adam Gase's offense, and he's expected to see more extended action in next week's tilt versus the Cowboys.
-
Matt McGloin QB | KC
Raiders' Matt McGloin: Two touchdowns Friday versus Cardinals
McGloin completed 5 of his 11 passing attempts for 41 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Friday's preseason win over the Cardinals.
Although McGloin averaged just 3.7 yards per attempt, he led a pair of touchdown-scoring drives that finished with a 19-yard strike to Clive Walford and a short score to Andre Holmes, both in the first quarter. McGloin will have to duke it out with fourth-round pick Connor Cook for the top backup job heading into the regular season, but Friday's performance certainly didn't hurt his standing in the competition.
-
Andy Dalton QB | PHI
Bengals' Andy Dalton: Gets one drive in preseason opener
Dalton completed 4-of-5 passes for 32 yards in Friday's preseason opener against the Vikings.
Dalton got just one drive, as the Bengals opted to ease their starter back in. His 2015 season was cut short after a thumb injury, but the Red Rocket was able to immediately re-establish a rapport with top wideout A.J. Green. With the Bengals once again featuring an excellent offensive ensemble, Dalton should once again find the end zone often after averaging 24.8 touchdowns per season in his first five NFL campaigns.
