Grier completed nine of 16 passes for 77 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Thursday night's 23-13 preseason win over the Bears. He also rushed once for 20 yards.

Grier replaced Kyle Allen in the second quarter and was picked off shortly thereafter. However, following that disappointment, Grier responded with a touchdown drive to start the third quarter, finding fellow rookie Elijah Holyfield from seven yards out. In also adding a long run on the night, Grier can be relatively satisfied with his debut and still looks likely to earn the Panthers' backup quarterback job.

Allen completed seven of 11 passes for 76 yards in Thursday night's 23-13 preseason win over the Bears.

Allen got the start to kick off Carolina's exhibition slate, and although the offense was forced to punt on its first series, Allen engineered a couple consecutive field-goal drives afterward. He was then replaced by rookie third-rounder Will Grier in the second quarter, and Grier would pass for 77 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Although Grier is favored to win the Panthers' second-string gig, Allen at least did alright for himself in a leading role Thursday.

Walker completed eight of 18 passes for 85 yards with an interception in Thursday's preseason loss at Buffalo.

Walker is battling Chad Kelly for the No. 3 QB role, and after one game, he was outplayed by Kelly. The Colts usually don't keep a third quarterback on the active roster, but that could change with Andrew Luck's lingering calf injury.

Jones completed all five of his passes for 67 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason opener against the Jets.

Jones watched Eli Manning lead the offense to a 3-and-out on the opening drive, then announced his presence by completing every one of his passes on the next drive, which Jones capped with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Bennie Fowler. The Giants have been doubted ad nauseam for selecting Jones sixth overall in the 2019 draft, but the pick didn't look like such a reach given his performance Thursday. This was just a one-drive sample size, though, and Jones will need to keep this level up moving forward if he wants to challenge Manning for the starting job under center this season.

Sudfeld will undergo surgery Friday morning after suffering a broken left wrist Thursday night against the Titans, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.

Sudfeld is expected to miss the next few months while on the mend, giving Clayton Thorson and Cody Kessler a shot to compete for the backup job. The Eagles have yet to provide a timetable for Sudfeld's return, but a better idea of his availability should come after his surgery.

Keenum completed four of nine passes for 60 yard and a touchdown and added a 10-yard run during Thursday's 30-10 loss to Cleveland.

All eyes were on rookie Dwayne Haskins on Thursday, but Keenum provided Washington with one of its few highlights, launching a 46-yard bomb to a wide-open Robert Davis for the team's only touchdown. After battling it out with Colt McCoy this offseason, Keenum is penciled in at No. 2. That's no man's land on a team that figures to start a veteran early, but eventually put Haskins on display at some point this season.

Mayfield completed five of six passes for 77 yards and a touchdown during Thursday's 30-10 win over Washington, resulting in a perfect quarterback rating of 158.3.

The Browns only put Mayfield out for one drive, but got him his work in quickly with six attempts on a seven-play touchdown drive. The sophomore passer couldn't connect on his first attempt, but quickly got in rhythm -- culminating in a 24-yard scoring shot up the seam to Rashard Higgins. Mayfield looked to be in midseason form and didn't even have top targets Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham on the field.

Darnold played one series in Thursday's preseason opener against the Giants, completing four of five passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Darnold's first throw was nearly intercepted, but he was perfect thereafter, converting a pair of third downs and capping the drive with a three-yard touchdown pass to offseason acquisition Jamison Crowder. The second-year quarterback has reportedly increased his arm strength by working on his hips during the offseason, but it remains to be seen how much of an effect that has on his performance. This was a promising start, though.

Allen completed six of 11 attempts for 66 yards and rushed once for eight yards in the Bills' 24-16 preseason win over the Colts on Thursday.

Allen started and helmed the Bills' first two drives, with the second culminating in a Steven Hauschka missed 34-yard field-goal attempt. There are naturally high expectations for the second-year gunslinger after he demonstrated plenty of progress as a passer over the final five games of 2018 and also posted four performances of 95 or more rushing yards during that stretch. Allen saw a solid workload for an opening preseason game, and he'll potentially be in for even more volume in next Friday's exhibition contest against the Panthers.

Brissett completed two of five attempts for 21 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Colts' 24-16 preseason loss to the Bills on Thursday.

Brissett played the first three drives for the Colts to open the contest, but the offense netted all of 22 yards with him under center. The 2016 third-round pick offers head coach Frank Reich the rare combination of a young yet experienced backup, with Brissett having started all 16 games in 2017 while Andrew Luck tended to a shoulder injury. Brissett is once again logging heavy reps in Luck's stead, albeit in training camp practices at this point, as the latter deals with a calf injury. The 26-year-old Brissett should see more playing time in next week's second exhibition against the Browns.
