  McConkey (foot) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's injury report. Head coach Jim Harbaugh revealed earlier Wednesday that McConkey would get some work in, and he was officially marked down with a limited tag. It's too early to tell if McConkey will take the field in Week 6, but his participation in Wednesday's session bodes well for his chances of doing so.

Though he was technically active for this past Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Broncos, McConkey wasn't available after failing to practice in any fashion leading up to the contest. Now that he's poised to get back on the practice field Wednesday, McConkey should be in good position to reclaim his usual role as the team's No. 1 wideout this weekend in Kansas City, provided he has no setbacks in his recovery from the foot injury leading up to Sunday.   McConkey (foot) was active but didn't play any snaps in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Broncos. Initially labeled as week-to-week by head coach Jim Harbaugh at the beginning of Week 5 prep, McConkey didn't practice in any fashion Wednesday through Friday but was still listed as questionable heading into Sunday. Though he ultimately suited up against Denver, McConkey looks to have been active only in an emergency since the Chargers had two other wideouts (Quentin Johnston and Brenen Thompson) sitting out with more worrisome injuries. The Chargers' depth was further tested when Tre' Harris (hamstring) left Sunday's game early, resulting in the team finishing with just three healthy receivers. McConkey's practice activity will bear watching this week to determine whether he has a more legitimate chance at playing meaningful snaps next Sunday in Kansas City.

Following an aggravation of a foot injury last Sunday at Seattle, McConkey was held out of drills during Week 5 prep but still entered the weekend listed as questionable to suit up. Adam Schefter of ESPN then reported Sunday morning that McConkey wasn't slated to play, and while the wide receiver actually is in uniform, he isn't expected to have a significant role, per Schefter. If that comes to pass, Tre' Harris likely will serve as the No. 1 WR for QB Justin Herbert, while Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Derius Davis and Theo Wease are the other players available at the position aside from McConkey.
