• Broncos' Bo Nix: Switch in play callers falls flat

  Nix was 16-for-27 passing for 123 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions, took four carries for 10 yards and fumbled twice (one lost) during Sunday's 23-17 victory at the Chargers. With head coach Sean Payton taking over play-calling duties from offensive coordinator Davis Webb in Week 5, the decision didn't exactly light a fire under Nix and the Broncos offense. Nix settled for his fewest passing yards of the season, but he at least tossed a TD pass (to WR Courtland Sutton) for a fifth game in a row to kick off the campaign, giving him a 6:3 TD:INT so far. Nix may have a tough time producing better results on a short week when Denver hosts the defending champion Seahawks on Thursday night.

• Broncos' Bo Nix: Can't overcome another deficit

  Nix completed 25 of 42 passes for 214 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions while rushing twice for 10 yards in the Broncos' 24-14 loss to the 49ers on Sunday. Nix finished with a serviceable passing line, but he averaged only 5.1 yards per attempt and wasn't able to overcome a second-half deficit as was the case in Week 3 against the Rams. The third-year signal-caller lost talented second-year wideout Pat Bryant to an ankle injury during the contest, and he found his greatest success when targeting RJ Harvey, who was on the receiving end of 10 of his completions. Nix has just a 60.0 percent completion rate and a modest 25 rushing yards through four games, but he may have a chance to boost those numbers against a winless Chargers team on the road in Week 5.

  Nix had his best Fantasy outing of the season in Week 3 against the Rams with 28.1 Fantasy points. He only passed for 186 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, but he added a rushing touchdown and two successful two-point conversions. Prior to Week 3, Nix scored a combined 23.5 Fantasy points against Kansas City and Jacksonville, and he has scored fewer than 20 Fantasy points in six of his past nine road games going back to last year. San Francisco just allowed Jacoby Brissett to score 29.6 Fantasy points in Week 3 in the first game without Nick Bosa (calf), so keep that in mind. But the 49ers also held Matthew Stafford and Malik Willis to a combined 19.9 Fantasy points in the first two games of the season. I would only start Nix in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues.

  Nix completed 17 of 34 passes for 186 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 30-26 win over the Rams. He also rushed four times for seven yards and a touchdown, in addition to throwing two successful two-point conversions. Nix threw for just 53 yards in the first half as the Broncos took a 16-0 deficit into the locker room. Denver turned things around in the third quarter, tying things up at 16-16 heading into the fourth quarter thanks to touchdown passes of five yards to Pat Bryant and eight yards to Nate Adkins, which were followed up by two-point conversions for Jaylen Waddle and Bryant, respectively, all thrown by Nix. The dual-threat QB made his biggest play down the stretch on the ground, powering in the go-ahead one-yard touchdown with 47 seconds left in the fourth quarter after being ruled out just short of the goal line on the preceding play. Denver's defense picked off Matthew Stafford on the game's final play to seal the victory and improve to 2-1. Nix has come up short of 200 passing yards twice in three games heading into a Week 4 road game against the 49ers, and he hasn't been running much since returning from ankle surgery, with just 15 rushing yards this season.

• Broncos' Bo Nix: Leads comeback victory Sunday

  Nix completed 22 of 31 passes for 288 yards with one touchdown and one interception while adding five carries for six yards in the Broncos' 20-13 win over the Jaguars on Sunday. Nix and the Broncos' offense started the game off in worrisome fashion, seemingly carrying over the malaise of their Week 1 Monday night loss to the Chiefs. Denver was still facing a 13-6 deficit heading into the fourth quarter, but Nix rallied the troops with a seven-yard touchdown pass to Nate Adkins and a key 17-yard strike to Evan Engram midway through the fourth quarter on what turned out to be the game-winning drive. The victory pulled the Broncos to 1-1 and gave Nix's early-season stats a serious boost heading into a Week 3 home showdown against the Rams next Sunday night.
