• Eagles' Will Shipley: Placed on injured reserve

  12D ago • By RotoWire

The Eagles placed Shipley (foot) on injured reserve Friday. After being diagnosed with a partial tear of his plantar fascia earlier this week, Shipley was slated for a multi-week absence, and he now will miss at least the next four games while on IR. He'll join Tank Bigsby (abdomen) on the list, and with Saquon Barkley currently tending to a lingering hamstring injury, the Eagles currently host just two healthy RBs (Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele) on the active roster. Shipley's next chance for game action is Sunday, Nov. 22 against the Steelers.

Shipley (foot) didn't practice Thursday. Considering Shipley suffered a partial tear of his plantar fascia during this past Sunday's defeat to the Jaguars in London and is facing a multi-week absence, his lack of practice reps so far this week is expected. With No. 1 RB Saquon Barkley (hamstring) also not practicing Wednesday or Thursday, the Eagles may be preparing to deploy the duo of Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele out of their backfield Sunday against the Panthers.

Shipley (foot) did not participate in Wednesday's practice. It's not much of a surprise to see a DNP next to Shipley's name on the Eagles' first injury report of Week 6 prep, given that the third-year running back was diagnosed with a partial tear of his plantar fascia following the team's 19-17 Week 5 loss to the Jaguars in London. Shipley is facing a multi-week absence, and with Saquon Barkley (hamstring) also idle for Wednesday's session, the Eagles may have to turn to Dameon Pierce to lead the backfield against the Panthers on Sunday.

• Eagles' Will Shipley: Could face multi-week absence

Shipley (foot) was diagnosed with a partial tear of his plantar fascia after exiting Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Jaguars in London and could be sidelined multiple weeks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Called upon to make his second career start with Saquon Barkley (hamstring) out for Week 5 and with Tank Bigsby (core) on injured reserve, Shipley played just 13 snaps and accounted for 13 yards and a touchdown on six touches (five carries, one reception) before leaving the game in the second quarter. After his foot injury was revealed to be a plantar fascia tear, Shipley now appears likely to be sidelined for at least next Sunday's game versus Carolina. Barkley is being viewed as week-to-week, and if both he and Shipley end up missing more time, the Eagles could be left with Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele as well as practice-squad member Jaydon Blue as their backfield options for Week 6.

• Eagles' Will Shipley: Won't return to Sunday's game

  18D ago • By RotoWire

The Eagles ruled out Shipley (foot) for the remainder of Sunday's game versus the Jaguars in London. With Saquon Barkley (hamstring) ruled out for Week 5 and Tank Bigsby (core) landing on injured reserve, Shipley looked poised to handle a featured role out of the Philadelphia backfield. However, Shipley's day came to an end late in the second quarter, when he sustained a foot injury that will ultimately keep him from returning. The Eagles will finish out the contest with Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele as their main options out of the backfield. Shipley finished with five carries for six yards and a touchdown to go with a seven-yard reception on two targets.
