Tigers' Enmanuel De Jesus: Optioned to Triple-A
The Tigers optioned De Jesus to Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
De Jesus was hammered for seven runs (five earned) while throwing 49 pitches over 1.1 innings in an ugly relief outing Tuesday versus the Brewers. He will be replaced on the roster and in the bullpen by Burch Smith.

Colt Keith 3B | DET
Tigers' Colt Keith: Opening Wednesday's game on bench
Keith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.
Though the left-handed-hitting Keith will begin Wednesday's contest on the bench, he could check in once lefty DL Hall -- who is opening the game for the Brewers -- is lifted from the game. Jahmai Jones will pick up a start at designated hitter in place of Keith.

Leonardo Jimenez SS | MIA
Marlins' Leo Jimenez: X-rays on hand are negative
Jimenez is day-to-day after X-rays on his left hand came back negative, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Jimenez was hit by a Kyle Leahy pitch in his first plate appearance during Wednesday's win over the Cardinals and eventually exited the game. He is dealing with some bruising but has managed to avoid broken bones. Jimenez has played sparingly for the Marlins, as his start Wednesday was his first in two weeks.

Dillon Dingler C | DET
Tigers' Dillon Dingler: Receiving evening off
Dingler is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.
Despite going hitless in nine at-bats over his last two starts, Dingler still ranks fourth among all qualified catchers this season with an .873 OPS. He'll get a chance to catch his breath Wednesday, paving the way for Jake Rogers to receive a turn behind the plate.

Anthony Volpe SS | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Volpe: Season debut 10-to-14 days away
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday on Foul Territory that Volpe (shoulder) is "still ten days [or] two weeks away, I would think."
Volpe is 6-for-15 with one home run, two stolen bases and a 1:4 BB:K over his first five rehab contests between Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Boone said that the shortstop has had "zero issues" with his surgically repaired left shoulder the last couple months, but Volpe hasn't completed a full game yet on his rehab assignment, so he still has some buildup to do. A return in 10 days would put Volpe in line for his season debut May 2, though a more specific timetable will be available in the coming days. Volpe should receive the lion's share of playing time at shortstop once he is activated, with Jose Caballero shifting to a super utility role.

Hayden Senger C | NYM
Mets' Hayden Senger: Moves back to Triple-A
The Mets optioned Senger to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday.
As anticipated, Senger will be pushed off the 26-man active roster as the Mets clear a spot for outfielder Juan Soto (calf), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list. Senger didn't see any action with the Mets after being called up from Triple-A on Saturday.

Roman Anthony RF | BOS
Red Sox's Roman Anthony: Taking seat against lefty
Anthony is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Anthony has fared well against left-handed pitching this season with a .320/.370/.360 slash line over 27 plate appearances versus southpaws, but the Red Sox will give him the night off nonetheless while Max Fried takes the hill for the Yankees. With Anthony on the bench, Andruw Monasterio will enter the lineup at designated hitter for Boston.

Hunter Dobbins SP | STL
Cardinals' Hunter Dobbins: In line to serve as sixth starter
The Cardinals are likely to insert Dobbins (knee) as part of a six-man rotation during their stretch of 17 games without an off day that begins Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Coming back from last year's ACL surgery, Dobbins is slated to make a fifth rehab start with Triple-A Memphis on Saturday. That would put him in line to make his Cardinals debut as soon as April 30 in Pittsburgh, and he appears likely to receive multiple turns as the club looks to keep their rotation members rested. Acquired over the offseason from the Red Sox in the Willson Contreras trade, Dobbins holds a 3.86 ERA and 16:4 K:BB over 18.2 frames covering his first four rehab outings with Memphis.

Carlos Narvaez C | BOS
Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Sitting after three straight starts
Narvaez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Narvaez had started behind the plate in the previous three contests, but Connor Wong will handle catching duties for Boston in the penultimate game of the series with New York. Before Narvaez's recent run of playing time, Wong had started each of the previous three games, so the Red Sox's catching situation will be one to monitor to see if either of the two ultimately emerges as the primary option.

Jeff Hoffman RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Jeff Hoffman: Manager noncommittal on closer role
Blue Jays manager John Schneider did not commit to Hoffman as his closer when asked Wednesday if he would consider using other relievers in the ninth inning, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.
Schneider said he's "not ready to make a firm comment" on the closer role, noting that he wants to have a discussion with Hoffman before announcing a decision. Hoffman was pulled from a save chance Tuesday versus the Angels with the bases loaded and one run already in. He was relieved by Louis Varland, who closed things out by inducing a game-ending double-play ball on the one and only pitch he threw. Hoffman has struck out 24 in 10.2 innings this season, but he's walked six, blown three saves and posted a 7.59 ERA and 2.06 WHIP. If Schneider does opt for a change at closer, Varland should be next in line.
