Astros general manager Dana Brown said Tuesday that Imai (arm) will rejoin the rotation next week versus the Mariners, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

If Imai is kept on a schedule of five days of rest in between starts, he'll be in line to start Monday's series opener. He made his second rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A Sugar Land, allowing one run on one hit with a 3:5 K:BB over three innings. Imai, who is coming back from fatigue in his pitching arm, threw 63 pitches Tuesday, so he will not be ready for a full workload in his first start back with the big club.

Rodriguez will serve as the Padres' opening pitcher for Wednesday's game in San Francisco.

Matt Waldron had been lined up to start Wednesday, but he instead appears poised to fill a bulk-relief role once Rodriguez exits the game. Rodriguez has collected a 1.62 ERA and 12:5 K:BB over his first 16.2 innings out of the Padres bullpen this season.

Woodruff is tentatively slated to resume throwing Saturday after undergoing a minor procedure Tuesday to drain fluid from his inflamed right shoulder, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Milwaukee placed Woodruff on the 15-day injured list Friday, one day after he saw his fastball velocity drop to the mid-80s during an abbreviated start against the Diamondbacks. After being diagnosed with shoulder inflammation, Woodruff traveled to Dallas on Tuesday to be examined further by Dr. Keith Meister, a renowned shoulder/elbow specialist. Though the visit with Dr. Meister seemed to be a foreboding sign, Woodruff evidently received a favorable evaluation and will now begin gearing up for a return from the IL. According to McCalvy, manager Pat Murphy said that Woodruff won't require an extensive buildup and will likely need just a couple of bullpen sessions before rejoining the rotation, potentially as soon as he's first eligible to come off the IL on May 16.

The Dodgers optioned Eder to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

He's clearing out to make room on the roster and in the bullpen for the return of Brock Stewart (shoulder) from the injured list. Eder has yielded one run with a 1:1 K:BB over four innings during his time with the Dodgers this season.

The Dodgers reinstated Stewart (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Los Angeles optioned left-hander Jake Eder to Triple-A Oklahoma City to clear room on the 26-man active roster for Stewart, who has been given the green light to join the big club for the first time in 2026 after completing his recovery from the right shoulder debridement procedure he required last September. Stewart recently wrapped up an impressive eight-appearance rehab assignment between Single-A Ontario and Triple-A Oklahoma City during which he struck out 13 batters and allowed four hits and three walks over 6.1 scoreless innings. The Dodgers may start him out with some lower-leverage appearances out of the bullpen, but Stewart could quickly work his way into the setup mix.

The Athletics selected Kriske's contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Kriske earned the promotion after posting a 2.25 ERA and 25:11 K:BB over 16 innings with Las Vegas. The 32-year-old will provide Athletics manager Mark Kotsay with a fresh arm for the bullpen.

Correa will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a tendon tear in his left ankle, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Correa hurt his ankle during batting practice prior to Tuesday's contest versus the Yankees, and the decision to have surgery was made after he consulted with a foot specialist. The expectation is that Correa will require 6-to-8 months to recover, so he should be ready for spring training next year. With Correa out, Isaac Paredes will serve as the Astros' everyday third baseman, and Nick Allen should be the primary shortstop until Jeremy Pena (hamstring) returns.

Atlanta designated Azocar for assignment Wednesday.

Azocar's stint in the big leagues lasted just three days, with the veteran outfielder getting into two games and going 0-for-2 with a stolen base. He'll give up his spot on the 40-man roster to infielder Jim Jarvis, who was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Outfielder Jose Azocar was designated for assignment in order to clear room on the 40-man roster for Jarvis, who will be making his MLB debut if and when he gets into a game. Though he's primarily been used at shortstop during his minor-league career, Jarvis has experience at second base and third base and is likely to serve as a utility infielder for Atlanta. Jarvis has shown excellent contact skills, plate discipline and speed during his time with Gwinnett this season, posting a .305/.418/.445 batting line while notching 15 steals in 17 attempts over 153 plate appearances.

Jax is in line to start Thursday's game against the Red Sox in Boston, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

With the team's starting pitching depth having been tested by injuries in recent weeks, Jax has begun the process of getting stretched out as a potential rotation open. Jax has served as an opener for the Rays in both of his last two appearances, covering 2.1 innings April 26 against the Twins and then 2.2 innings Saturday against the Giants. Jax is likely to expand on that workload Thursday, though he probably won't hit the five innings he would need to qualify for a win. Assuming he isn't needed out of the bullpen during Wednesday's series finale versus the Blue Jays, Jesse Scholtens could work in bulk relief behind Jax and would have some appeal as a streaming option after scooping up wins in both of Jax's last two starts.
