Irvin (2-5) took the loss Thursday against Atlanta, allowing five runs on three hits and two walks in five-plus innings. He struck out one.

Irvin cruised through three scoreless innings initially but slowed from there, and he eventually wasn't able to record an out in the sixth frame after issuing a pair of free passes. The right-hander missed over two months of action while working his way back from a right shoulder strain, so he likely had some rust to shake off in his first appearance at the major-league level since late May. Irvin is set to take a lackluster 5.56 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 59:24 K:BB over 56.2 innings into a tough road matchup against the division-rival Phillies his next time out.

Holmes took a no-decision Thursday against the Nationals, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out four.

The high-powered Washington lineup tagged Holmes for a trio of home runs Thursday, two of which came off the bat of Daylen Lile. The right-hander is without a quality start since June 3 versus the Blue Jays, but he hasn't given up more than three runs in an outing since May 1 in Colorado. Holmes will bring a 3.88 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 87:45 K:BB over 102 innings into his next scheduled appearance against the division-rival Marlins.

Wetherholt went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a steal during the Cardinals' 4-2 extra-inning loss to the Cubs on Thursday.

Wetherholt tied things up at 2-2 with a solo homer off Caleb Thielbar in the seventh inning. It was the 16th home run of the season for Wetherholt, but he has struggled coming out of the All-Star break with a .214/.302/.375 slash line, three steals, three homers and five RBI over 63 plate appearances.

Pallante did not factor into Thursday's decision against the Cubs, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three across 6.1 innings.

Pallante put together another strong outing, logging a second consecutive quality start and eighth of the season. He finished Thursday's outing with 12 groundouts and 11 whiffs on 90 pitches (56 strikes), and he avoided a tough-luck loss since teammate JJ Wetherholt smacked a game-tying solo home run in the seventh. Pallante has a 3.72 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 118.2 innings this season, and his next start is lined up for next week on the road against the Yankees.

Harrison (forearm) pitched 5.2 scoreless innings, surrendering one hit and three walks while striking out five batters in Thursday night's rehab start with High-A Wisconsin.

Harrison recorded 44 strikes over 68 total pitches, and he was able to reach his target of at least five innings on the mound. The left-hander has been sidelined since July 11 while nursing left forearm tightness, but he showed no rust in his first, and likely only, minor-league rehab start. Harrison is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list and make his next start with the major-league roster.

Mead has a nondisplaced left wrist fracture and will be reimaged in four weeks, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Mead was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday after suffering the injury when he was hit by a pitch Monday night against the Athletics. The 25-year-old is anticipated to be sidelined for roughly 6-to-8 weeks, with Thursday's news giving him a chance to hit the front end of that timeline.

Assad did not factor into the decision for Thursday's game against the Cardinals, allowing one run on six hits and two walks while striking out six across 4.1 innings.

Assad worked out of the bullpen in both of his previous two outings, but he was thrust back into a starting role Thursday after Shota Imanaga's scheduled start was pushed back to Friday against the Yankees. Assad allowed at least two baserunners in three of the five innings he pitched but limited the damage to just one run. Given that Edward Cabrera (hamstring) and Ben Brown (hand) are both still on the 15-day IL, Assad could make at least one more turn in the rotation, which would line him up to face the Dodgers at home next week.

Weathers did not factor into Thursday's decision against the White Sox, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out four across seven scoreless innings.

Weathers generated only eight whiffs while throwing 106 pitches, but he also logged 11 groundouts while keeping Chicago off the board. It was his first quality start since June 24 and the third time this season that he shut out his opponent while tossing at least seven frames. Weathers will take a 3.99 ERA and 1.24 WHIP over 115 innings into his next start, which is tentatively slated for next week at home against the Cardinals.

Burke did not factor into Thursday's decision against the Yankees, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out 10 across six scoreless innings.

It was another dominant effort for Burke, who generated 18 whiffs on 91 pitches (58 strikes) while punching out 10 batters for a second consecutive outing. He's registered a quality start in five straight appearances and has a 3.04 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 140:37 K:BB across 124.1 innings this year while ranking fifth in the American League in strikeouts. Burke is lined up to take on the Red Sox at Fenway Park next week.

Hoerner went 3-for-5 with a stolen base in Thursday's 4-2, 10-inning win over the Cardinals.

Hoerner didn't score or record any RBI with his three hits, but he did at least record his 16th stolen base of the season in 19 attempts. The speedy infielder has been locked in this month with a .311 batting average across 23 games in July. Overall, Hoerner is slashing .257/.320/.350, and he seems to be rounding into form after enduring a few rough patches earlier in the year.
