The Diamondbacks released Hoffmann (undisclosed) on Wednesday.

Hoffmann was removed from the 40-man roster earlier this week, and he's now out of the organization altogether. The righty reliever hasn't pitched since early June due to an undisclosed injury, and it's unclear what his current health status is.

Sanoja went 3-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Phillies.

Sanoja was the only Marlin who seemed to have an answer for Aaron Nola on Wednesday -- the third baseman got Miami on the board in the sixth inning with his sixth homer of the season, one of his three hits on the day. Sanoja is now 7-for-16 (.438) with a pair of homers and six RBI in his last four contests, boosting his slash line to a solid .278/.317/.425 across 348 plate appearances this season with 48 RBI, 32 runs scored and six stolen bases.

Arraez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Marlins.

Arraez scored the game's opening run after leading off the second inning with a single before he extended the Phillies' lead to 3-0 with his homer off Sandy Alcantara, his sixth this season. Arraez has settled in nicely in Philadelphia, going 12-for-30 (.400) with a .986 OPS over his last seven games. Overall, Arraez is slashing .319/.353/.440 with 61 runs scored and 54 RBI across 533 plate appearances between the Phillies and Giants this season.

Martinez started in right field and went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 1-0 loss to San Francisco.

Martinez made a second consecutive start, as the Guardians deal with injuries to Jo Adell (knee) and Chase DeLauter (hamstring). The injuries are considered minor and both outfielders are day-to-day, which means Martinez could get another start or two going forward. Following a July swoon, Martinez has picked it up in August, going 17-for-50 (.340) with one home run, six doubles, 11 RBI and six runs scored over 15 games.

Bleday went 0-for-3 in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Cardinals.

Bleday was dropped to seventh in the order, the lowest spot he's hit out of as a starter since May 26. That the Reds were facing a left-hander may have played a role in manager Terry Francona's decision to slot the lefty-swining Bleday down in the order, but it may also have something to do with the outfielder's struggles in the second half. After posting an .842 OPS with 43 RBI over 67 games prior to the All-Star break, Bleday has slumped to a .167/.286/.296 slash line with four RBI over 32 contests since.

Jones (hip) entered Wednesday's game as a pinch hitter and finished as the designated hitter. He walked in his lone plate appearance in a 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Diamondbacks.

Jones, who battled left hip tightness the previous two days, pinch hit for Mickey Gasper against a left-hander in the eighth inning. The former has been remarkably productive in a part-time role since joining Boston, going 11-for-23 with four doubles, two home runs, six RBI, three steals and eight runs scored over 15 contests.

Gasper served as the designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to Arizona.

Gasper gave the Red Sox a jolt in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he launched a three-run homer that tied the game after the Diamondbacks extended their lead in the top of the frame. It was the third straight game with a homer for Gasper, who had gone deep just twice over 92 career games in the majors prior to his call-up this week. The switch hitter has served as the DH in three consecutive contests, all against right-handers. He was eventually pinch hit for against a left-hander in the eighth.

Nootbaar entered Wednesday's game as a pinch hitter and went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in a 7-6 extra-inning victory over the Red Sox.

Nootbaar stepped in for Jordan Lawlar in the sixth inning and took Greg Weissert deep to give Arizona a 5-2 lead. It was Nootbaar's first homer since being acquired by the Diamondbacks at the trade deadline. The former Cardinal entered the game having gone 5-for-35 (.143) with one RBI over the previous 11 contests in an Arizona uniform.

Arenado went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-6 extra-inning win over Boston.

Arenado's bloop single plated the first of two runs in the decisive 10th inning to secure the win for the Diamondbacks and helped snap a three-game losing skid. The third baseman, who returned to the lineup after missing two games due to an intercostal injury, recorded his fourth multi-hit effort over the last seven games. Arenado is 8-for-27 (.296) with one triple, three home runs, nine RBI and two additional runs during the stretch.

Moniak went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and a double in Wednesday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to the Dodgers.

Moniak has maintained steady playing time in August, but his bat was fading prior to this performance. For the month, he's gone 12-for-56 (.214) with three homers and 13 RBI. The outfielder reached the 20-homer mark with his blast Wednesday, a threshold he's now hit in both of his years with the Rockies. He's batting .266 with an .846 OPS, 59 RBI, 42 runs scored, 15 doubles, four triples and a stolen base over 88 contests this season.
