Suarez did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Yankees, allowing a run on six hits over 6.1 innings. He struck out six.

It was a strong effort from Suarez, who made it through six innings for the first time since April 27, as he held the Yankees scoreless until Paul Goldschmidt's two-out RBI single in the fifth. Suarez had been struggling coming into the day, allowing nine runs over 10 innings in his previous two outings. Overall, his ERA sits at 3.18 with a 1.14 WHIP and 63:19 K:BB across 12 starts (65 innings) this season. Suarez is tentatively lined up to face the Rangers at home in his next start.

Schlittler did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Red Sox, allowing a run on four hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

It was an encouraging bounce-back showing from Schlittler after he gave up five runs in 4.1 innings in a loss to Cleveland his last time out. The right-hander blanked the Red Sox for five innings before giving up a lone run on a Willson Contreras two-out double in the sixth. Most encouraging was Schlittler's fastball velocity, which averaged 97.5 MPH, up from the 96.8 he averaged against the Guardians. Schlittler's ERA now sits at an AL-best 1.87 with a 0.87 WHIP and 89:14 K:BB across 14 starts (82 innings). He's currently slated to face the Blue Jays on the road his next time out.

Swanson is not in the starting lineup for Sunday night's contest against the Giants.

Swanson will remain on the bench for the second straight contest, which doesn't come as much of a surprise after manager Craig Counsell said Saturday that the 32-year-old would "get a couple days off." Nico Hoerner will draw the start at shortstop while Pedro Ramirez enters the lineup at second base, batting eighth in the series finale with San Francisco.

The Cubs acquired Kelly from the Dodgers on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations, Jared Wyllys of AllCHGO.com reports.

Kelly has spent most of the last four seasons in Triple-A and has yet to make his MLB debut. Over 21 innings with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City to begin the season, Kelly posted a 5.14 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 22:19 K:BB across 21 innings in 23 appearances.

Chandler (2-7) took the loss Sunday against Atlanta, allowing three runs (two earned) on one hit and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Working behind an opener for the first time this season, Chandler looked dominant early, blanking Atlanta through his first five frames. However, he ultimately took the loss after walking back-to-back batters in the seventh, both of whom came around to score after the Pirates turned to the bullpen. Despite the disappointing finish, it was an encouraging effort from Chandler, who'd given up eight runs over 10 innings in his previous two starts. Overall, the right-hander sports a 4.91 ERA with a 1.44 WHIP and 62:40 K:BB across 62.1 innings this season.

Englert is expected to pitch in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Ian Seymour during Monday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays recalled Englert from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, and he proceeded to work in long relief of starter Nick Martinez later that day in a 7-2 loss to the Tigers, covering five innings and striking out three while allowing one earned run on four hits and no walks. Though Englert will continue to work out of the bullpen Monday, he looks as though he'll be taking over the rotation spot of the struglging Steven Matz, who was recently shifted to a relief role.

Fuentes earned the save in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Pirates, allowing two hits while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.

With Raisel Iglesias having pitched back-to-back days, it was Fuentes who got the call in the ninth inning Sunday instead of Robert Suarez. It didn't come easy for the 20-year-old right-hander, as the Pirates got the tying and go-ahead runs aboard with one out. However, Fuentes managed to induce a popup off the bat of Jared Triolo before striking out Endy Rodriguez to close out the one-run victory and earn his first career save. While Atlanta still views Fuentes as a long-term starter, he's been stellar out of the bullpen recently, allowing just one run on eight hits while striking out 14 in his last 12 appearances (13.1 innings).

Seymour will serve as the Rays' opening pitcher for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Seymour will likely pitch one or two innings before turning the ball over to right-hander Mason Englert, the latter of whom was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday. The left-handed Seymour has struggled as of late, allowing seven runs (five earned) on six hits and seven walks while striking out six in 6.2 innings spanning his last four appearances.

Elder did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Pirates, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out four.

Elder gave up a home run to Spencer Horwitz to start the game Sunday, though he'd settle in and hold the Pirates to just one additional run (and one hit) over his final five frames. Elder has now turned in quality starts in seven of his last nine outings, lowering his ERA to 2.66 across 14 starts (84.2 innings) with a 1.05 WHIP and 71:25 K:BB. Elder is currently lined up to face the Mets on the road his next time out.

Witt was removed from Sunday's game against Minnesota due to right knee soreness.

It's unclear when the injury cropped up, but Witt was taken out of the game in the seventh inning and was replaced by Michael Massey. Witt went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts prior to his exit, and he'll undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury. The Royals have an off day Monday, so the 25-year-old shortstop will aim to be available for Tuesday's home game against the Rangers.
