Ranger Suarez SP | BOS
Red Sox's Ranger Suarez: Pushed back to next week
Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy said Friday that Suarez's (hamstring) next start will come next week "sometime in the Philly series," Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.
Suarez had to be lifted from his last start with right hamstring tightness. His next turn had been lined up for this weekend against the Rays, but the Red Sox have elected to give the southpaw a bit more rest. Payton Tolle will move up a day to take the ball Saturday, and Brayan Bello will pitch Sunday, either as a traditional starter or bulk reliever.

Cade Povich SP | BAL
Orioles' Cade Povich: Sidelined by elbow inflammation
The Orioles placed Povich on the 15-day injured list Friday with left shoulder inflammation.
Povich had to depart Thursday's game in Miami with the injury, and it's not a surprise it led to an IL stint. According to Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun, it's not believed to be a serious injury, though the 26-year-old could get a cortisone injection. Trey Gibson has taken Povich's spot on the Baltimore roster.

Eric Cerantola P | KC
Royals' Eric Cerantola: Returning to Triple-A
The Royals optioned Cerantola to Triple-A Omaha on Friday.
The right-hander was called up from Omaha on Wednesday and pitched on both days he spent in the big leagues, giving up three runs on two hits with four walks and five strikeouts over three innings. Steven Cruz will fill Cerantola's spot in Kansas City's bullpen.

Omar Martinez C | LAA
Angels' Omar Martinez: Contract selected
The Angels selected Martinez's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.
It's the first big-league promotion for Martinez, who has hit .212/.307/.424 with four home runs in 20 games this season with Salt Lake. Martinez and Sebastian Rivero will form the Angels' catching duo while Logan O'Hoppe (wrist) and Travis d'Arnaud (foot) are shelved.

Travis d'Arnaud C | LAA
Angels' Travis d'Arnaud: Out with plantar fasciitis
The Angels placed d'Arnaud on the 10-day injured list Friday with right foot plantar fasciitis.
D'Arnaud had to leave Wednesday's game versus the White Sox with the injury, though it's unclear if it might have been bothering him previously. He joins Logan O'Hoppe (wrist) on the IL, leaving the Angels with Sebastian Rivero and Omar Martinez as their top two catchers.

Stephen Kolek RP | KC
Royals' Stephen Kolek: Rejoins big club
The Royals recalled Kolek from Triple-A Omaha on Friday.
The right-hander was demoted to Omaha on Wednesday but will quickly rejoin the major-league club with Cole Ragans (elbow) landing on the injured list. Kolek made a spot start in place of Noah Cameron (back) earlier this week and could now get a few turns through the rotation with Ragans sidelined. Kolek delivered a quality start in his first MLB appearance of 2026, striking out three and giving up three runs on four hits over six innings while picking up a win versus Cleveland.

Cole Ragans RP | KC
Royals' Cole Ragans: Out with elbow impingement
The Royals placed Ragans on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to May 7, due to a left elbow impingement.
The left-hander departed his start against the Guardians on Wednesday due to a valgus extension overload in his left elbow -- also known as pitcher's elbow -- and he was initially expected to rest for a few days before the next steps of his recovery program were determined. Ragans said Thursday that he was already feeling much better than when he left Wednesday's contest, but he'll still spend at least the next couple of weeks on the IL after being diagnosed with the impingement. Stephen Kolek was called up from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move Friday and is a candidate to fill Ragans' spot in the starting rotation.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Mariners' Brendan Donovan: Reinstated from injured list
The Mariners activated Donovan (groin) from the 10-day injured list Friday.
Donovan has been sidelined for nearly three weeks with a left groin strain, but he's been cleared to return to action after playing one rehab game. The 29-year-old was slashing .304/.437/.518 with three home runs and a 9:12 BB:K before getting hurt. Donovan will re-take third base for the Mariners, shifting Leo Rivas to a utility infielder role.
