His three hits were a season high, and it was his 16th multi-hit game of the year. Vilade went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored during the Rays' 6-0 win over the Marlins on Friday.
Vilade helped the Rays build an early 3-0 lead with an RBI single in the first inning before driving in another run in the seventh. It was the sixth multi-RBI game of the season for Vilade, three of which have come over his last six outings. Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Exits after collision with wall
Buxton was removed from Friday's game against the Royals with a right shoulder contusion after colliding with the outfield wall, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Buxton initially remained in the game after running into the wall while making a catch in the third inning, but he was later lifted for a pinch hitter. The Twins haven't yet offered any information on the severity of their star outfielder's injury, but more details should come in the near future.

Drew Rasmussen SP | TB
Rays' Drew Rasmussen: Bounces back against Miami
Rasmussen (5-2) earned the win against the Marlins on Friday, allowing one hit and zero walks while striking out nine across seven scoreless innings. He did not issue a walk.
Rasmussen was looking to bounce back from his last outing against the Angels on Saturday, when he gave up five runs over four innings. He did so in convincing fashion Friday, limiting the Marlins to just one baserunner while logging a season-high nine strikeouts. It was the sixth quality start of the season for Rasmussen, whose 0.92 WHIP over 66 innings is second-best in the American League among qualified starters, behind only Cam Schlittler (0.86). Rasmussen is slated to make his next start next week at home against the Red Sox.

Jorge Soler DH | LAA
Angels' Jorge Soler: Scratched Friday
Soler was scratched from the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers due to hip tightness.
Soler's hip forced him to make an early exit from Wednesday's contest, and although it originally seemed like he was good to go for Friday's game, the Angels will instead keep him on the bench as a precaution. Adam Frazier will replace Soler as the Halos' designated hitter and bat ninth.

Trent Grisham CF | NYY
Yankees' Trent Grisham: Smacks solo homer
Grisham went 1-for-5 with a solo home run during the Yankees' 5-3 loss to the Red Sox on Friday.
Grisham was responsible for the final run of Friday's game with a solo home run off Sonny Gray in the fifth inning, which was the eighth homer of the season for Grisham. He has reached base safely in nine consecutive games, and over that span he has gone 11-for-36 (.306) with five walks, two home runs and five RBI.

Ryan Weathers SP | NYY
Yankees' Ryan Weathers: Gives up five runs in loss
Weathers (2-4) took the loss against Boston on Friday, allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out four across six innings.
It was the fourth time in 12 starts this season that Weathers has given up five runs, three of which have come over his last four outings. He had some command issues Friday with just 11 first-pitch strikes to 26 batters, and it was the fourth time this season that he gave up at least two home runs in a game. Weathers' recent form has him sitting at a 3.86 ERA and 1.16 WHIP across 70 innings this season, and his 79 strikeouts are tied for sixth-most in the American League. He's lined up to face the Guardians on the road next week.

Spencer Jones CF | NYY
Yankees' Spencer Jones: Logs three hits in Judge's absence
Jones went 3-for-3 with an RBI double during Friday's 5-3 loss to Boston.
Jones was recalled ahead of Friday's game and started in right field due to the absence of Aaron Judge (ribs). Jones reached base safely in all three of his plate appearances, with his double in the fourth inning bringing Jazz Chisholm home. With Judge sidelined, Jones should see regular playing time in the outfield against right-handers until either Giancarlo Stanton (calf) or Jasson Dominguez (shoudler) is back from the injured list.

Ben Rice 1B | NYY
Yankees' Ben Rice: Goes deep against Boston
Rice went 2-for-3 with a solo home run during Friday's 5-3 loss to the Red Sox.
Rice got the Yankees on the board early with a solo home run off Sonny Gray in the first inning. It was Rice's 18th homer of the season, which is tied for Byron Buxton for third-most in the American League. The Yankees will need all of Rice's power as the team navigates the absence of Aaron Judge, who was placed on the 10-day IL prior to Friday's game due to a stress fracture in his right rib that will sideline him for at least 4-for-6 weeks. Rice has done all he can at the plate, especially over his last nine games, when he has gone 16-for-36 (.444) with 11 RBI and nine extra-base hits.

Jarren Duran LF | BOS
Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Logs 11th steal of 2026
Duran went 1-for-4 with a steal and a run scored during the Red Sox's 5-3 win over the Yankees on Friday.
Duran logged his 11th steal of the season in the third inning and was brought home three batters later on an infield single by Willson Contreras. Duran has struggled for most of the season but has been far better at the plate as of late. Over his last 15 games, he has gone 20-for-66 (.303) with two steals, six home runs and 14 RBI.
