Burke will not start Sunday's game against the Cubs, as Grant Taylor has been announced as the White Sox's opening pitcher for the contest, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.

Burke had previously been deemed the probable starter, but the White Sox announced late Saturday that Taylor will begin the game on the mound for the series finale instead. It's not yet clear if Burke is dealing with any sort of issue, or if the White Sox simply prefer for him to pitch in bulk relief behind Taylor. That wouldn't be a decision without precedent, as Burke has worked three times as the primary pitcher behind an opener so far this season.

Fermin went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 6-4 loss to the Guardians in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Fermin went 0-for-1 as a pinch hitter in the day game before spelling Salvador Perez behind the dish in the nightcap. While Fermin has carved out a decent share of playing time in July, he has gone just 4-for-23 (.174) with seven strikeouts over his last 10 games. Overall, the catcher is slashing .262/.315/.350 with three homers, 10 RBI, 16 runs scored, seven doubles and no stolen bases across 198 plate appearances this year.

Witt went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 6-4 loss to the Guardians in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Witt also went 1-for-4 with a run scored in the day game. His homer in the nightcap brought the Royals within two runs in the fifth inning, but they couldn't generate any runs over four frames by the Guardians' bullpen. Witt looks to be fine after a knee issue kept him out of the lineup Wednesday -- he was slated to return Friday before that day's game was rained out. On the year, the shortstop has a .287/.337/.491 slash line with 15 homers, 58 RBI, 60 runs scored, 27 stolen bases, 33 doubles and three triples across 104 contests.

India went 1-for-5 with a three-run, walk-off home run in a 5-3 extra-inning win over the Guardians in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.

India connected for a three-run blast off Emmanuel Clase in the 10th inning of the day game. In the nightcap, India went a modest 1-for-4. He's hit safely in nine of his last 14 games, going 13-for-55 (.236) in that span, though he remains the Royals' main leadoff hitter. Overall, the second baseman has a .242/.322/.344 slash line with five homers, 30 RBI, 44 runs scored and no stolen bases through 97 contests this season.

Brown (9-5) took the loss against the Athletics on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out five across five innings.

Brown entered Saturday's game with a 7.80 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in 15 innings over his prior three starts. He was much better against the Athletics, but despite giving up just one run on a Brent Rooker double in the first inning, Brown still came away with the loss as the Astros struggled to generate offense. Brown is lined up to face the Red Sox at Fenway Park next weekend, when he'll look to get back in the win column for the first time since July 2.

Garcia went 4-for-7 with a home run, two triples, one walk, two RBI and two runs scored across both games of Saturday's doubleheader versus the Guardians.

Garcia had last hit a homer June 18 versus the Rangers, which was coincidentally the date of his last triple as well. During the 29-game homer drought, he hit a meager .225 and slugged just .297 while adding four stolen bases on six attempts. The infielder has maintained a starting role at third base despite the recent mediocre performance. He's now slashing .296/.351/.461 with nine homers, 43 RBI, 46 runs scored, 19 stolen bases, 26 doubles and five triples through 103 contests.

Kwan went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and a second run scored in a 6-4 win over the Royals in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Kwan also went 1-for-5 with two strikeouts and a run scored in the first game of the twin bill. The light-hitting outfielder has homered three times over his last three games, and he has eight RBI over eight contests dating back to July 12. For the season, he's slashing .286/.351/.413 with nine homers, 37 RBI, 50 runs scored, 20 doubles, one triple and 11 stolen bases across 98 games as Cleveland's primary leadoff hitter.

Lopez did not factor into the decision in Saturday's game against the Astros, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out four across 4.1 innings.

Lopez allowed two baserunners in each of the first two innings of Saturday's start but managed to escape without yielding a run. He finished his outing with 10 whiffs but needed 95 pitches to record just 10 outs, so he could last long enough to pick up the win. Lopez sits at a 4.29 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 65 innings heading into his next start, which is tentatively slated for next weekend at home against the Diamondbacks.

Clase (5-3) took a blown save and the loss by allowing three runs on a hit and two walks over one-third of an inning in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader versus the Royals. He then pitched a perfect inning to earn a save in the second game of the twin bill.

It's rare for a reliever to be called on to pitch twice in the same day, and even rarer for the second appearance to come after the type Clase had in the day game, when he threw just six of 15 pitches for strikes. He showed a strong ability to bounce back by locking down his 24th save in 29 chances with his outing in the nightcap. He has a 3.23 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 47:12 K:BB through 47.1 innings over 48 appearances this. While Clase has failed to match his dominance from 2024, he remains firmly entrenched as the Guardians' closer and has mostly bounced back from an ugly start to the campaign.
