  • Yimi Garcia RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Yimi Garcia: Moves to 60-day IL

The Blue Jays transferred Garcia (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

The Blue Jays announced Friday that Garcia would require season-ending surgery to clean up scar tissue around his right elbow, so it was only a matter of time before he was shifted to the 60-day IL to open up a spot on the 40-man roster. The right-hander finished the 2025 campaign with a 3.86 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 25:12 K:BB over 21 innings. Garcia is owed $7.5 million for 2026 and is expected to be healthy for the start of spring training.

  • Coby Mayo 3B | BAL

Orioles' Coby Mayo: Bowing out of lineup

Mayo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

With Ryan Mountcastle drawing a start at first base and Gunnar Henderson getting a day off from playing shortstop but remaining in the lineup as the Orioles' designated hitter, Mayo will be the odd man out of the lineup. Mayo had started in each of Baltimore's last six games and went just 2-for-23, bringing his batting average down to .184 for the season.

  • Darell Hernaiz SS | ATH

Athletics' Darell Hernaiz: Sitting after 28 straight starts

Hernaiz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Hernaiz has been displaced at shortstop and second base recently with Jacob Wilson returning from the injured list and Zack Gelof getting called up from Triple-A Sacramento, but the 24-year-old has been able to retain a regular role in the infield by shifting over to the hot corner. After making his last two starts at third base, Hernaiz will give way to Brett Harris on Sunday. Hernaiz will hit the bench after he had been included in the starting nine in each of the last 28 games, during which he slashed .242/.307/.354 with two home runs, one stolen base, 12 RBI and 10 runs. While his playing time appears to be secure for now, Hernaiz could end up shifting to more of a utility role if Max Muncy (hand) is able to make it back from the injured list at some point in September.

  • Rangers' Alejandro Osuna: Sitting versus righty again

Osuna is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Osuna appeared to have a chance at emerging as a strong-side platoon player in the Texas outfield when Evan Carter (wrist) was placed on the injured list Aug. 22 and later ruled out for the season, but the Rangers haven't been willing to give the 22-year-old a regular role just yet. The left-handed-hitting Osuna will take a seat for the fourth time in five games and for the second consecutive matchup versus a right-handed starting pitcher (J.T. Ginn). Osuna has been unable to get going at the plate across his two stints in the big leagues this season, slashing just .149/.283/.195 with one home run and three stolen bases across 106 plate appearances.

  • Ezequiel Duran 2B | TEX

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Gaining foothold in lineup

Duran is batting eighth and playing second base in Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Duran will remain in the lineup for the fourth time in five games and will be occupying the keystone for the second day in a row. With super-utility man Josh Smith likely to see most of his playing time at shortstop moving forward due to Corey Seager (appendectomy) being potentially lost for the season, Duran could end up emerging as the Rangers' primary option at second base. Duran has been productive at the plate throughout August, slashing .328/.349/.410 with no home runs and three stolen bases through 20 games on the month.

  • Rangers' Kyle Higashioka: Resting up Sunday

Higashioka is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

After starting in each of the last four games -- three at catcher, one at designated hitter -- Higashioka will retreat to the bench for the series finale in Sacramento. Jonah Heim will get the nod behind the dish in place of Higashioka on Sunday.

  • Bryse Wilson RP | PHI

White Sox's Bryse Wilson: Called up Sunday

The White Sox selected Wilson's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.

After Wilson produced a 6.65 ERA, 1.90 WHIP and 27:19 K:BB in 45.1 innings over 19 appearances (five starts) in the majors, the White Sox pushed him off their 40-man roster June 10. He remained in the organization upon clearing waivers, and he's performed well as a swingman for Charlotte, netting a 3.86 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 36:8 K:BB in 39.2 innings over 14 appearances (seven starts). Assuming he isn't needed in relief Sunday, Wilson could slot into the rotation spot vacated by Aaron Civale, who had been scheduled to start Monday's game in Minnesota before he was claimed off waivers by the Cubs.

  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Getting breather Sunday

Langeliers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Langeliers started the past eight games but will receive Sunday off after batting .182 (6-for-33) with a homer and 11 strikeouts during that span. Willie MacIver will take over behind the plate for the series finale versus Texas.

  • Nick Kurtz 1B | ATH

Athletics' Nick Kurtz: Absence continuing Sunday

Kurtz (oblique) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

The 22-year-old had an MRI come back clean Saturday, but he'll still be held out of the lineup for a second consecutive game. Manager Mark Kotsay indicated Saturday that Kurtz should be back soon but didn't provide a target date. Tyler Soderstrom is filling it at first base, with Carlos Cortes starting in left field.

  • Mauricio Dubon SS | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Exiting lineup Sunday

Dubon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

The versatile Dubon will hit the bench after starting 11 straight games across three different positions. His last two starts came in center field, where he could end up seeing the bulk of his playing time until Jake Meyers (calf) is ready to return from the injured list.
