  • Quinn Priester SP | MIL

Brewers' Quinn Priester: Move to IL made official

The Brewers placed Priester (wrist) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Priester first developed right wrist soreness late last season and was diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome after the discomfort cropped up again in Brewers camp. It's viewed as a relatively mild case of TOS and the hope is Priester is ready for his season debut around early May, but it's far from a guarantee he'll be ready by that time.

  • Rays' Cam Booser: Optioned after addition to 40-man

The Rays selected Booser's contract from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday and optioned him to Durham.

Presumably, Booser had an opt-out in his minor-league contract, and the Rays added him to their 40-man roster to prevent the reliever from exercising that clause. Booser holds a 4.28 ERA and 78:35 K:BB over 73.2 innings at the big-league level.

  • RJ Petit SP | COL

Rockies' RJ Petit: Placed on IL

The Rockies placed Petit (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

The 26-year-old underwent Tommy John surgery with an internal brace on his right elbow Friday, so the move to the injured list was inevitable. Petit will miss the rest of the season in addition to the start of the 2027 campaign.

  • Christian Roa SP | HOU

Astros' Christian Roa: Wins bullpen job in Houston

The Astros selected Roa's contract from Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday.

Roa came to Astros camp as a non-roster invitee and won a spot by allowing just one run with a 13:0 K:BB over 9.2 Grapefruit League innings. The righty has just two games of big-league experience under his belt and should be used in low-leverage situations.

  • Easton McGee SP | MIL

Brewers' Easton McGee: Optioned to Triple-A

The Brewers optioned McGee to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

McGee had been in the mix for a spot in the Brewers' bullpen but ultimately didn't make the cut. He should be one of the first relievers called upon from the minors when the club needs bullpen help.

  • Justin Steele SP | CHC

Cubs' Justin Steele: Heads to 60-day IL

The Cubs placed Steele (elbow) on the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Steele is progressing as anticipated after undergoing UCL revision surgery back on April 18, 2025, but he'll still need at least the first two months of the 2026 season to complete the lengthy recovery process. The southpaw checked off a major box in his rehab program by facing live hitters in batting practice sessions just under two weeks ago. He'll likely continue to gradually increase the volume and intensity of his pitching in live BP sessions and simulated games over at least the next few weeks before eventually embarking on an extended minor-league rehab assignment.

  • Hunter Dobbins SP | STL

Cardinals' Hunter Dobbins: Goes on IL

The Cardinals placed Dobbins (knee) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Dobbins is still working his way back from July surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee. Though he's been able to steadily build up his pitch count throughout the spring through live batting practice sessions and simulated games, he's not yet been cleared for full fielding and agility drills. Once he clears that hurdle in the recovery process, Dobbins may not require an extensive rehab assignment, but the Cardinals aren't guaranteed to have a spot in the rotation available for him upon his return from the IL.

  • Porter Hodge SP | CHC

Cubs' Porter Hodge: Sent to 15-day injured list

The Cubs placed Hodge (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Hodge came down with a right flexor strain in early March. He is aiming to play catch around April 1, but he'll have been shut down nearly a month by that time, so the buildup will take a while.

  • Zack Wheeler SP | PHI

Phillies' Zack Wheeler: 15-day IL move made official

The Phillies placed Wheeler (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Wheeler is still working his way back from last September's venous thoracic outlet syndrome surgery. He is slated to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday. Wheeler will be eligible for activation April 6, and while he might not be ready by that date, he is on track to return sometime in April.

  • Hunter Gaddis SP | CLE

Guardians' Hunter Gaddis: Lands on injured list

The Guardians placed Gaddis (forearm) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Gaddis has been dealing with forearm tightness during spring training and won't be available to begin the season. The right-hander was able to see game action at the end of camp and should be able to begin a minor-league rehab assignment soon.
