Estes (6-6) earned the win Sunday, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk over 5.2 innings against the Brewers. He struck out five.

Estes allowed a two-run homer by Gary Sanchez in the second inning but otherwise held the Brewers off the board to collect his sixth win of the season. After receiving a cup of coffee with the A's last season, Estes has been solid in his first full big-league season, carrying a 4.37 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP. Additionally, since allowing eight runs in a start against the Red Sox on July 9, he's been highly impressive, allowing no more than three runs in any of his last eight appearances while maintaining a 2.86 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 32 strikeouts over his last 44 innings. He'll look to continue this string of success in his next start, scheduled to take place in Arlington against the Rangers.

Marsh is scheduled to be called up from Triple-A Omaha to start the second game of Monday's doubleheader in Cleveland, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

The Royals are expected to designate Marsh as their 27th man for the twin bill, so he'll most likely be returned to Omaha immediately after his start Monday. Marsh will be rejoining the big club for the first time since late July, when he lost his spot in the rotation following the Royals' trade-deadline addition of Michael Lorenzen. Over his 20 outings (19 starts) with Kansas City prior to his demotion, Marsh accrued a 4.71 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 93:32 K:BB in 101.1 innings.

Montas (6-9) took the loss Sunday, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks over six innings against Oakland. He struck out seven.

Montas was coming off a one-hit, zero-run effort over seven innings in his last start and mowed down the A's the first time through the order Sunday. However, he ran into issues in the fourth, allowing the first five batters to reach base with four of those eventually coming around to score. Montas was not rocked in this start, with all five hits against him being singles. He also collected at least seven punchouts for the fifth time this season. Montas' next start is currently slated to be against his former club, the Reds, in his first game in Cincinnati since joining the Brewers at the trade deadline.

Cantillo will be recalled from Triple-A Columbus on Monday and is expected to work in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Nick Sandlin in the first game of the Guardians' doubleheader with the Royals, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Cantillo had started in each of his previous four appearances with the big club, but manager Stephen Vogt will have the young lefty work behind an opener with the hope of generating better results. The 24-year-old had been roughed up over his four starts with Cleveland, recording an 8.47 ERA and 1.76 WHIP while striking out 14 and issuing nine walks over 17 innings. He's likely to be returned to Columbus following the twin bill.

The Padres will recall Vasquez from Triple-A El Paso to start Monday's game in St. Louis, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

After a two-week stint in the minors, the 25-year-old will rejoin the big-league rotation as a replacement for the struggling Matt Waldron, who was optioned to Triple-A on Thursday. Before his demotion, Vasquez had settled in nicely as a serviceable back-end rotation arm for San Diego, going 2-2 with a 3.46 ERA and 1.31 WHIP over his last eight starts spanning 39 innings. Many of Vasquez's advanced metrics (5.06 SIERA, 7.4 K-BB%) over that eight-start stretch were far less impressive, so fantasy managers should have some level of skepticism of him being able to maintain a sub-4.00 ERA in his subsequent outings with the Padres.

Irvin is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

The Orioles called Irvin up from Triple-A Norfolk last Wednesday to make his first start with the big club since June 30. Injuries have hit the Baltimore rotation hard recently, which has resulted in Irvin getting his third trial in a starting role despite the fact that he has produced an 8.80 ERA in 30.2 innings over his last nine outings in the majors. He'll be at risk of moving to the bullpen -- if not being removed from the 40-man roster -- as soon as Zach Eflin (shoulder) and/or Grayson Rodriguez (lat) return from the injured list.

Cueto is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Tigers at Comerica Park.

The Angels called Cueto up from Triple-A Salt Lake this past Wednesday to make his club debut as well as his first appearance in the majors of 2024. The 38-year-old righty was far from overpowering (one strikeout, three swinging strikes on 84 pitches) and took a loss to the Rangers, but he worked into the seventh inning and allowed three earned runs to come away with a quality start. So long as he can continue to eat innings effectively enough, Cueto should maintain a hold on a rotation spot, but his lack of strikeout upside limits his fantasy value.

Pivetta is scheduled to pitch Monday, when the Red Sox resume a game with the Blue Jays that was suspended in the second inning back on June 26, Chris Cotillo MassLive.com reports.

Pivetta will technically be making his first relief appearance of the season Monday; Kutter Crawford picked up the start in the June 26 contest and worked 1.1 innings before the game was suspended due to inclement weather. Once the suspended game is completed, Pivetta's official game log will attribute any statistics as having been accrued June 26. After pitching Monday, Pivetta will line up for his next start in Detroit during the upcoming weekend.

Matthews did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on four hits over five innings against the Cardinals. He struck out seven.

Matthews put together his best performance to date, allowing a career-best one run while striking out seven, which more than doubled the six punchouts he accumulated during his first two big-league starts. He held the Cardinals scoreless through four frames, and a two-out solo homer by Victor Scott in the fifth was the only blemish against his line. The rookie left-hander has now completed exactly five innings in each of his starts and has been effective in allowing a total of five earned runs. Matthews has earned the chance to remain in the rotation, with his next start scheduled to take place at home against the Blue Jays.

Dunning was used in relief in Saturday's 13-5 loss to the Guardians, tossing one inning while allowing one earned run on two hits.

Dunning had started in both of his previous two appearances, but he looks set to operate as a reliever moving forward with the Rangers expected to call up Jack Leiter from Triple-A Round Rock during the upcoming week to serve as a temporary fifth member of the rotation until at least one of Tyler Mahle (shoulder), Jacob deGrom (elbow) or Max Scherzer (shoulder) returns from the injured list. In his last start Monday against the Pirates, Dunning averaged just 88.1 miles per hour with his fastball, and he didn't notice much of a bump in velocity Saturday despite moving to the bullpen. He maxed out at 90.3 mph and failed to generate a swinging strike from any of the four batters he faced.
