Cole (6-4) allowed two unearned runs on three hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Cubs.

A rough first inning was enough to send Cole to the loss, as he gave up two hits and a walk, as well as a pair of fielder's choices, in that frame. Isaac Paredes had the big hit, a two-run single that the Cubs nursed all the way to the end. Cole didn't miss any time after exiting his previous start with a calf cramp. He's allowed one earned run or fewer in five of his last six starts, surrendering a total of seven runs (five earned) with 43:12 K:BB over 34.1 innings in that span. Cole now has a 3.36 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 85:24 K:BB through 75 innings over 14 starts this season. The right-hander's next start is projected to be at home versus the Red Sox.

Corbin (5-13) took the loss Sunday, allowing seven runs on 10 hits over six innings against the Pirates. He struck out five.

Corbin entered the contest having allowed three runs total while accumulating wins in each of his last three starts but allowed four runs in the first and seven total over his six-inning performance. The seven runs allowed represented the second time since mid-June that he's allowed more than four runs in a start. Corbin's next opportunity to eat innings for the Nationals is tentatively slated to take place at home against the Marlins.

Castillo (hamstring) will undergo an MRI on his left hamstring on Monday in Seattle, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Castillo left Sunday's start against the Cardinals as a result of a left hamstring strain. He will now receive additional imaging on the leg to determine the severity of the injury. Manager Dan Wilson did not speculate if he believed that Castillo will be able to make his next scheduled start or not, but more information on Castillo's status will come Monday.

Jones (6-7) earned the win Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits over seven innings against the Nationals. He struck out nine.

Jones matched a career high by tossing seven innings, while the nine whiffs were the most he's accumulated in a start since the beginning of May. After allowing single runs in each of the first two innings, Jones retired the final 16 batters he faced, including striking out five of the final six. It was Jones' 11th quality start in 19 appearances this season and second consecutive quality start after struggling in his initial outing following a two-month absence due to a lat injury. With the Pirates out of playoff contention, Jones is a candidate to be limited over the final few weeks of the season. However, as long as he's taking the hill, he belongs in fantasy lineups. He's tentatively lined up to make his next start in a home matchup against the Royals.

German cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

German was designated for assignment Thursday by the Pirates but will stick in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. In two stints with Pittsburgh this season, the 32-year-old has a 7.84 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 18:13 K:BB across 20.2 innings.

Bido is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Astros, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The right-hander threw 40 pitches over two scoreless innings out of the bullpen Saturday against Detroit, but he'll move back into the rotation on two days' rest for the series opener in Houston on Tuesday. Bido has a 2.23 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 35:11 K:BB across 36.1 frames in his past seven appearances.

Wrobleski was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.

The left-hander was called up from Oklahoma City on Friday and will return to the minors after delivering two scoreless innings out of the bullpen Saturday against Cleveland. Wrobleski has a 6.40 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 22:14 K:BB across 32.1 frames in the big leagues this season.

Castillo was removed from Sunday's game against the Cardinals due to a left hamstring strain, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

The right-hander had a good chance to pick up a win Sunday as Seattle scored seven runs across the first two frames, but Castillo was lifted due to the hamstring injury after giving up two runs across three innings. The severity of the issue isn't known, and it's unclear if the 31-year-old will be able to make his next turn through the rotation next weekend versus the Rangers.

Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said that Bido will be reinserted into the rotation during the upcoming week after working out of the bullpen in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Tigers, Jessica Kleinschmidt of the Oakland Athletics Radio Network reports.

Kotsay noted that the Athletics initially planned to rest Bido through the weekend, but after a 13-inning game Friday, the right-hander was made available out of the bullpen Saturday. Bido struck out three over two scoreless innings behind starter Brady Basso, who was subsequently optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday. Kotsay didn't specify when Bido's next start will be, but since he's less rested than JP Sears, Joey Estes and Mitch Spence, Bido presumably won't be used during the upcoming three-game series with the Astros and could instead take the hill for Thursday's series opener versus the White Sox.

Megill is available out of the bullpen Sunday against the Reds, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander allowed four runs with a 9:2 K:BB over 9.1 frames in the past two turns through the rotation for the Mets, but he'll shift to the bullpen with Paul Blackburn (hand) returning from the injured list Monday in Toronto. Megill could be called upon for a spot start or two down the stretch, but for now he'll operate in a long-relief role.
