The Rockies recalled Gordon from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

Gordon has posted a 7.55 ERA over seven starts with the big club this season. The 26-year-old looks to be in line to serve in a long-relief role this time around.

Schultz has a 0.61 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 34:13 K:BB in 29.2 innings across his last eight starts for Double-A Birmingham.

Given that Schultz only allowed an earned run in two of those eight starts and didn't allow more than one earned run in any outing over that stretch, it's pretty clear that he can handle three or four innings against Double-A hitters. However, he hasn't recorded more than 12 outs in a start all year, as the White Sox have clearly capped his per-start workload in an effort to keep him healthy all season. Schultz's 70-grade slider is his bread and butter, so it's not a given that he'll have the same success as he attempts to log five or six innings in starts against better competition next season. Improving his third-pitch changeup will be the top priority for the 6-foot-9 southpaw this offseason.

The Rockies placed Gomber on the paternity list Tuesday.

The left-hander was expected to start in the three-games series at Detroit that begins Tuesday, but he'll instead step away from the team for a few days to be with his growing family. Gomber could be back with the team -- and in the rotation -- for Friday's game versus the Cubs.

Wilkinson has a 2.30 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 103 strikeouts in 78.1 innings across 16 starts for High-A Lake County.

Affectionately nicknamed "Tugboat" due to his 6-foot-1, 270-pound frame, Wilkinson hasn't lost a step after getting promoted to the Captains on May 21. It's a bit telling that he hasn't been promoted to Double-A after dominating the Midwest League for a few months. Wilkinson projects as an innings-eating southpaw whose stuff plays much better in the lower levels than it will against upper-level and big-league hitters. The 21-year-old lacks a true plus offering and his fastball tops out at 93 mph and sometimes sits in the upper-80s.

Gonsolin (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

It will be the right-hander's first game action since he underwent Tommy John surgery in September of 2023. A return for Gonsolin before the end of the season has not been ruled out, but if it happens, he would be used in a relief role. The 30-year-old posted a 4.98 ERA over 20 starts for the Dodgers in 2023 prior to surgery.

Lively will start Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Joey Cantillo started Monday in what had been Lively's turn, as the Guardians wanted to give Lively some extra rest after he allowed 10 runs over his previous two outings. He'll have a good opportunity to bounce back Tuesday against the feeble White Sox offense.

Buehler (1-5) took the loss against the Cubs on Monday, allowing five runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out four batters over five innings.

Buehler fell behind 3-0 after one inning and gave up another run in the fourth. He began the sixth inning on the mound but allowed the first two hitters in the frame to reach base and was subsequently pulled. The right-hander has struggled since returning Aug. 14 from a nearly two-month stint on the injured list, posting a 6.14 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 18:11 K:BB over 22 innings across five starts. The Dodgers have remained committed to giving him an opportunity to round back into the form that made him their Opening Day starter in 2022, but he hasn't been able to put things together this season and isn't a lock to make the team's potential postseason roster.

Hendricks allowed two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out two batters over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Monday.

Hendricks got through four scoreless frames but allowed four straight batters to reach base with one out in the fifth. That earned him the hook, marking the third time in his past four outings that he's been unable to complete five innings. Hendricks has posted a 7.47 ERA and 2.17 WHIP over 15.2 frames during that stretch while walking more batters (10) than he's struck out (nine). He may move back to the bullpen when Justin Steele (elbow) is able to return from the injured list.

Festa (2-6) allowed four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four batters over four innings in a loss to the Angels on Monday.

Festa fell behind quickly in the contest, giving up a pair of runs on a walk and two hits in the first inning. The other two runs he allowed came on a two-run Brandon Drury homer in the third frame. The rookie right-hander has lost each of his past four starts, though this was the first time in that span that he's given up more than three runs. Despite going 1-5 since the All-Star break, Festa has been fairly effective, posting a 3.70 ERA and 54:15 K:BB over 41.1 innings.

Detmers (4-6) earned the win over Minnesota on Monday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over six innings.

Detmers racked up 14 whiffs in the outing after notching 18 in his previous start last Tuesday against the Dodgers. The left-hander has notched a quality start in each of his two appearances since returning from the minors, recording a total of 18 strikeouts while giving up just four runs over 12 frames during that span. Detmers has shown stretches of dominance before -- he opened this season with a 1.19 ERA and 30:7 K:BB over his first four starts, for example -- but has also had frustrating bouts of ineffectiveness. He'll likely remain in the Angels' rotation for the remainder of the campaign and look to finish strong in hopes of building momentum toward what will likely be a rotation spot to open the 2025 season.
