Cole will start Game 2 of the ALCS on Tuesday, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

The Yankees haven't announced a starter for Game 1 just yet, but Cole getting the nod to start Game 2 likely narrows the choices down to Carlos Rodon and Clarke Schmidt for Monday. Cole was dominant in his most recent outing, allowing just one run over seven innings en route to a win over the Royals on Thursday.

Flaherty will start Sunday in Game 1 of the NLCS against the Mets, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Flaherty was roughed up during his first outing of the postseason, surrendering four earned runs over 5.1 innings in a loss to San Diego, but he figures to have a good chance to bounce back Sunday after turning in a 3.17 ERA during the regular season.

Manaea will start Game 2 of the NLCS against the Dodgers on Monday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Manaea hasn't pitched since Tuesday, so it's hardly a surprise for him to start on what will be five days of rest. The 32-year-old southpaw has given up three earned runs through 12 innings during the postseason and will be following Kodai Senga in the rotation.

Senga will start Game 1 of the NLCS against the Dodgers on Sunday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Senga managed to last only two innings during his start in Game 1 of the NLDS -- his first time pitching since suffering a left calf strain in late July. There's a good chance he makes another abbreviated start Sunday, opening up an opportunity for David Peterson to possibly work as a bulk reliever.

Musgrove underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow Friday, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Following an early exit from his appearance in Game 2 of the NL Wild Card Series on Oct. 2 due to an elbow injury, an MRI revealed that Musgrove would need to undergo Tommy John surgery before returning to the mound. The timing of his procedure gives him an outside chance to pitch toward the very end of next season, but the 31-year-old righty will most likely be sidelined until 2026.

Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said Friday that Boyd will start Saturday in Game 5 of the ALDS against the Tigers, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Boyd will be on regular rest after holding the Tigers scoreless over 4.2 innings with five strikeouts in Game 2 on Monday. The left-hander will be opposed by Tarik Skubal in the winner-take-all affair.

Garrett was diagnosed with a left elbow impingement last week, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Garrett missed multiple months of action with a strained left forearm before suffering a setback with his elbow during a bullpen session in September. He is currently going through a throwing progression at the Marlins' spring training complex in Florida, and the setback isn't considered something that will jeopardize his availability for the start of spring training.

Senga is likely to start Game 1 of the NLCS on Sunday, Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports.

The Mets don't know their opponent yet, but it appears they're leaning toward giving the ball to Senga rather than Sean Manaea or Luis Severino, regardless of whether they're playing the Padres or Dodgers. Senga went two innings in his lone NLDS start and would be limited again Sunday, with David Peterson likely to serve as a bulk innings option.

Yamamoto has been named the starter for Game 5 of the NLDS against the Padres on Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Manager Dave Roberts had previously said that Yamamoto would pitch in some capacity, though it was unclear whether that would be as a starter or in a shorter stint. It appears that the Dodgers intend for him to work as a traditional starter in Friday's contest, though he's yet to pitch more than five innings in any of his five starts since returning from the injured list.

Cortes (elbow) has continued to throw and was able to increase the intensity in Thursday's session, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Cortes maintains hope to pitch in the ALCS as the Yankees are a win away from advancing Thursday. The left-hander continues to make strides in his recovery from the flexor strain, but his availability for the rest of the playoffs remains up in the air.
